Getting a new to you bike regardless of what it is, calls for some sort of party! Congrats on the new ride!

Is wind buffeting a common problem with first gen's? I find it bad on mine and it has the windshield deflectors on the side to effectively widen the windshield the buffeting drives me crazy! My XJ1100 with a windjammer was great! -
There's two sides to every story!

Annie, My wife and I are praying for you and are sending best wishes from our snow covered house up here in the north to yours way over down under! Paul and Patti!

I'm 47 and my wife Patti is 50. I bought my 1st Gen for her, one because she found it much more comfortable then my XJ1100 and two, because she like the color. I was hoping to find a blue one in as good a condition as Yogi. She is happy to ride on the back and be my navigator.

That looks awesome Annie!

I didn't realize those 83's were so rare! Now I regret buying my mass produced 86:(

Maybe I'm getting old but I love having a windshield. ( and now a fairing too)I still get the smells, and the odd bug, plenty of breeze but no ear aches. I wear a shorty helmet so I can hear all around me and still keep my already failing hearing. (more the result of too many rock concerts than riding for years with out a windshield). I also love to go for long rides and not feel worn out when the ride is over from fighting the wind, bugs, road crap and the elements. Ok I am getting old............. but it does have it's advantages! Paul

In the new year I hope to; Remove and completely clean the carbs Replace front a rear tire Properly grease the drive shaft Replace front wheel bearings Grease and re-torque steering head bearings Replace the fork fluid Install progressive fork springs Upgrade fork brace Change brake fluid, final drive fluid and oil and filter Give it a good cleaning and polishing and wait for spring (probably in the hot tub with a beverage and cigar while I contemplate attending the 2010 Venture Rally)

I have a 24 x 24 foot garage. 2x4 construction. R12 in the walls and R 20 in the ceiling. I heat with a 4800 watt construction heater no problem. I usually just leave it on the lowest setting and turn it up a bit when I want to work out there. I wired the fan to run all the time and the element with the thermostat. It is more than enough to heat the garage, even at -10f. Paul

I was being a wiseass when I responded with this, I thought the old thumbs up was more than enough to "yes I agree" or "Yes I like what you posted" or "nice picture" What was wrong with simple? (Not you bongobobny)

It is used to measure engine vacuum and advance the ignition timing electronically (no moving parts) like the old centrifugal advance units.

SO! What are the AGES of the DRIVERS of VR.Org?
Blue Giant replied to Zfrebird4's topic in Watering Hole
I just turned 47. I don't feel old until I look in the mirror and see all the grey hair. I shouldn't complain though, most of my friends have lost theirs. Paul
