  1. I guess we got that new tire installed????
  2. Not me Carl. I was home making dinner for two other Ventureriders and their spouses. Bike never left the garage.
  3. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad time. It's never easy when you lose someone.
  4. Not just you. My gell battery after 2 years old and on a tender in a heated garage did the same thing to me on Sunday for the first start of the year. Half crank then all black. No load battery say's 13 volts and charger says fully charged. tried a 12 v light bulb hook up and battery showed 1 volt!!!!! Original lead acid lasted 6 years. I bought the yuasa sealed lead acid yesterday. Maybe the note on not using a full time tender for these batteries has some merit. I am dissapointed and will probably never go Gel again.
  5. This is always sad news. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

    I'm RETIRED

Congradulations, now your time is your time. Been 1 year now since I left. Best job I ever had!!!
  10. I am going to the show on Sunday with my brother as he can't go Saturday. As for food on the QEW. That is out of my area. Are you are looking at Burlington,Oakville,Hamilton or ???? If you decide on a place we may be able to make it for dinner.
  11. Merry Christmas to all and all the best for a happy and healthy upcoming year. Hope to meet more Ventureriders next year. Dianne does a great job in decorating the house inside. Just a couple of pic's.
  12. Prayers sent for all involved and hoping for a speedy recovery.
  13. Vehicle insurance in Canada has as much to do with where you live as it has with driving record. This is totally unfair but that is what it is and the insurance companies will tell you direct that it is because you live here!!! In Ontario in the Toronto area most pay $1000 or over for the Venture with full coverage. If you get out of this area the cost goes down signifigantly. Be happy you live in Nova Scotia and pay what you pay and don't believe everything you're told. We have great health care but be assured that not all the drugs and medicines are covered to the full extent. People can spend big money to get healed on stuff not covered by our health insurance even in Canada, or except what is offered under our government health plans free. Not all workers have extra health plans.
  14. Our deepest condolences. We have a 27 and 25 year old and could not imagine losing either one. Prayers sent for strength to deal with your loss.
  15. Prayers sent to all involved for a speedy recovery.
  16. I agree with you entirely Goose that this is a bypass of the air cut off valve and not a fix. To fix the problem I would have to change the AIS. It does not backfire anymore so I would believe the mechanic has isolated the problem. It seems better to check this than fool with jetting or other issues. He specifically asked if it was on decel and checked the y pipes for leaks again as they have both been replaced. He says this valve in the AIS weakens over time and does not fully close on decel and causes the backfiring. I am not mechanically inclined with automotive issues and rely on this mechanic that races hi own Vmax and has worked on yamaha's as well as other bikes his whole life. He keeps my bike on the road so all I have to do is ride it.
  17. Just reading this now Brian. Sorry to hear it. I always hate this kind of news but am real happy that you are still here to tell about it. Shame about the bike and I always say that they make bikes every day but it would be real hard to replace you. Take care, hope the healing is coming good and you get what you want for the bike. John and Dianne
  18. Sorry to hear of your loss. It is never easy no matter the circumstances. Our thoughts and prayers with you and the family.

  23. Very sorry to hear this Wayne. We will keep you and Robin and your family in our thoughts and prayers.
  24. That is a good price. Our vests were $100 with no controller. I think I paid $25 for just an on - off switch, not a controller?
