    today being stupid I was hammering my 1st gen shifting to 2nd ( missed shift) and lot of grinding started bottom left of engine. right where driveshaft goes to out put shaft, no matter what gear. limped home last 5 miles. the more throttle the more grind. grinds when under even slite pressure. put it on center stand all gears grind. what did i do? going to start pulling wheel off and pull drive shaft what am i looking for. big time sick at my stomach

    I put lighted toggle switch (end of toggle has small led) on my vr years ago everyone knows these beasts dont like to turn over when hot. Killed it in heavy traffic would not start, too hot! did the tip toe dance down slight hill in first popped clutch gave little gas nothing. went to second gear popped clutch with throttle it started and pulled front wheel for way too long. man changed my shorts after that one. never thought that 1300 could pull front wheel on 900 lb. bike i got turned around back to pick up nav. ( was on side of the road watching the show) her eyes big as cookies. put the switch on right after that. NO MORE WHEELIES FOR THIS GUY!!!

    I just broke the bottom shock bolt on 86 vr. Does anyone have extra bolt, or know where to find.yamaha site says see dealer (doesn't sound good) will call them asap.

    Kenny Sorry about your spill and I hope you heal fast buddy. Glad to hear that Beth is ok! spilled last year my self on v. r. (Jerri had just dismounted cause I knew that what I needed to do was iffy ) skinned shoulder and hand trying to catch myself. Mostly my pride was hurt. enough of trading scars HEAL FAST, RIDE SAFE

    I by chance ask dealer if they had e2 for back man they had and I had the plastic. GOT BOTH READY FOR THE DRAGON:dancefool:

    Well guys I've got a smokey moutain trip in 4 weeks and I have 18000 miles on my e2's. Time to rubber up. Could get more out of them but not gonna chance it.( gonna ride the dragon two up) My yamy dealer has an e2 ( one at a time)waiting for me when I get there at 9:00 this sat. morn. I know e2's are hard to find and yes I was shocked that they had TWO, one of em is mine. I'm happy that riding season is here i'll not pass up one last chance to have a 20000 mile tire back on the bike.

    Thanks ponch for the posters. been in the donut line before (not fun) "I was testing my cruise control officer." I had a throttle lock on my brand new 81 650 maxim and tucked in behind windshield . had four other cruisers drive by while i was parked. one county sheriff was at the supper table when he got the call!!! They had been in pursuit for a while I had no need to look back traveling that fast! Yes young and dumb. mike

    Jerri & I got home to indy sat bout 2:00 pm, only rain we had was the same stretch of 65 that we got drenched on day before. ha ha (Raymond, you were right about staying in ark.) no rain there. Thanks so much to everyone there, we felt that we were among friends right off the bat AND WE WERE, we just didn't know it yet. thanks to Bill and his stories and all the work and time he and Linda put in this meet. EVERYONE was so cool. we met some super people and hope to rekindle friendships next year at international rally. Thanks to Dan & Cindy for showing us around E.S. before the meet even started. Question? How many venture riders does it take to attach a face shield? A: I tried for one hour with moral support from Linda and a beer, Rosebud 20 mins.& internet, Kenny 5 mins. moral of story--good friends and experience PRICELESS!!! Mike & Jerri

    got 14000 k on my dunlop 491 elite 2's. never thought much about them untill danob11 asked me about them. never had a problem and are wearing nice. 4yrs old ready to replace after eureka springs rally or a while after, before next riding season.
