  1. Sent a PM a4pumper...as others are saying...this is one heck of a seat. Best money I've spent on the bike. Pics attached.
  2. I have the G2 on my bike. I forget who but someone here did a good comparison on the difference between the stock and G2.
  3. I'm about 6'2 and had pretty bad neck and shoulder pain with the stock set up. I put on the Baron's and that helped a bit like you noticed. I did the Flanders bar and kept the risers on...big difference. Took a little getting used to cause it was pretty much a whole new position with my arms and shoulders but I can ride all day now without any pain so for me it was well worth it. I also changed out the seat around the same time and that may have been a factor too. My arms don't extend nearly as much as before and are much closer in at the shoulder and elbow. It almost felt cramped at first but I'm not scrunching my neck and shoulders like I used to. I could get relief with the stock by stretching like you mentioned but that was only temporary. Hope you find a solution that works. I was getting pretty bummed at how quickly I was getting discomfort on the bike. Before I could only go a few hours before my shoulders and neck started tightening up. Just after I made the full change I did about 675 miles, 12 or so hours, in a day and could have kept going. Felt like a new bike and was well worth the money spent. Good luck!
  4. My seat pics from another thread. Best investment I've made on the bike...by far. Not sure why but I never could get comfortable on the stock seat. With the Russell seat I swear I sometimes forget that it's there. Always was aware of the pillow top.
  5. I'll second the Day Long...wasn't cheap but easily the best upgrade I've done to the bike. Great folks to do business with.
  6. I will want to make that for sure. We can probably get a group to go over when the time comes.
  7. Good luck...remember to watch the hands!
  8. Jennay...like Forrest Gump was saying it.
  9. Mine disengages with the brake but not with the throttle. I thought it was disengaging off the throttle but I had never really let it come back to speed without fiddling with it. If I let off the throttle steadily it always seems to keep me at the speed I had set. Is your amber light coming on after you hit the throttle?

    Thanks ebat

Same here skid, didn't know I had the clock til someone showed it to me. Glad to pass that on to you Scary. Nice to meet and eat with everyone there and meet some of the better halves.
  11. Yikes! Take care of that "seashell" now!
  12. Had my left side develop the crack too after about 800 miles. It was replaced under warranty but it felt like I really had to convince the dealer that it wasn't from something I might have run into.
  13. Craig, you directed this at raceman but with my bar I had a dealer install them. I didn't want to mess with it...took them all day
  14. Yup, forgot about the knees. I rotated my up a bit for clearance (mini ape hangars) and it helped.
  15. Good luck with the loan...hope it comes through. I had a difficult time getting comfortable on my 08 but I think I've finally reached the sweet spot. I'm 6'2 and didn't mind the reach with the stock setup but I found that I was getting pretty bad neck and shoulder pain. Tried the risers which fit just fine with stock cables but was still uncomfortable after a short time. Ordered the Flanders bar and cables which helped a good bit but still not enough to let me ride all day. Put the risers back on with the Flanders a couple of weeks ago and that made the difference. Well, that and a new seat which has me sitting just a tad higher than before. I did 500 miles out to Vogel and back and felt great all day. For what it's worth, I came to the conclusion that on the previous set up I tended to bunch my shoulders up while riding. Kind of like doing a shrug but keeping that position and not "slouching" or relaxing more. With the Flanders and risers I didn't resort to that riding position and if I started to it was easy to just "slouch" and rest my hands on the grips since they were much closer in. You may not experience this at 6'5 but if you start to get burning in the neck and shoulders you might want to consider the Flanders.
  16. I actually like riding in cold weather but I don't like riding in the rain so I'm not sure what would work for both. For cold weather I bought a heated jacket liner from Tourmaster along with something for my neck. With thermal long johns and socks, regular slip on boots the only thing that I can't keep warm are my hands. I'll probably get some heated gloves this fall. That jacket liner is great...feels like riding with an electric blanket and works well in freezing temps.
  17. I had my left side cowling start developing a hairline crack after about 3k miles. Had to strongly reassure the dealer that I didn't hit anything. Dealer took some pics and said he would submit it to Yamaha...Yamaha said they would replace it under warranty. Glad to hear they are covering yours too.
  18. Another great job. Looked like fun...hope to ride and eat with ya someday!
  19. Looks good so far...how bout some Michael Hedges! (RIP)
  20. Thanks for the update...been waiting for this so thanks again.

    Autumn Leaves

    Great video, thanks!
  23. I just bought the Tourmaster jacket liner a few weeks ago. Have only used it once and it was great! Nice and toasty on low setting. It felt like riding with an electric blanket wrapped around my upper body. Can't wait to use it again. I think I read on Web Bike World that there was an issue with the controller on many of the jackets but the review was over a year old if I remember correctly. Here's hoping they have sorted it out by now.
