  1. You West coast treehugger types would know more about that kinda stuff than us manly prairie men would....... Brian
  2. Ya should be in Oberlin Ohio this weekend, where everyone on the east side of the continent that rides a venture is at. Maintenance day is on tomorrow and there are lots of guys there that know these bikes inside and out that could help you out. Because of that anything you post may not get an answer until a bit later and they all get de-toxified from all the food, drink, and ice cream Brian oops I read your location as IA, not LA you would have a long ride in a short time....
  3. I am a bit too far away for that, Was planning on the Glenfiddich and Canadian Crown Royal in Cody WY. I think quickstep is gonna have to find another taker at MD. I am only about an 8 hour ride from Cody, but about 2350kms from Oberlin OH, just dont have enough vacation this year to do it all. (shouldnt be too hard to find a partner for that kinda trouble in that crew!!!):group cheers: Enjoy the PArty!!!!!!!! Brian

  5. Thats a good sign that youre not full of gas. (I mean the bike....LOL) Sorry to create work for you, but would have hated to have you bend a rod on startup if you were hydrolocked. Brian
  6. I have 2 spare Brown bags for my 85 , I can send ya, then all ya need is the brackets from MK1 to convert it to an easy to work on machine...... Brian

    Spot 1 ?

I could be wrong, (yeah go figger, it does happen...) but I think Rockets is a Spot1 he has had it for 3 or 4 years (since nailing the deer on a deserted highway at night) and he seems to really like it a lot. Its a bit bulkier than the newer ones, but still seems to work just fine. Brian
  10. Sorry to hear youre going thru a rough patch, things will get better soon! It just takes some time to let things "settle" so to speak. Brian
  11. Pull your sparkplugs before you fire it up and crank it over a few times first, allowing any fuel that may be trapped above the piston to get out. Then put the plugs back in and fire up. If you dont, there is a chance you may hydrolock destroying the engine. I might be inclined to squirt a shot of oil down each hole as well in case the gas has washed your cylinder walls free of oil. Brian
  12. I am so glad youre ok and feeling better. I am wondering how having the procedure done and the stent installed is going to affect your medical insurance coverage for the time youre in the US? I am curious as my father had the same procedure done a few years ago and the insurance companies denied him medical insurance for that condition while he was in the US. Brian
  13. Now thats something i might ponder........ , the back tire is getting down but not real bad, but if I wait the price is so much higher here. Brian
  14. Get hearing checked in right ear? you are getting older ya know........ Brian
  15. Sorry about sending it your way, but we have had enough rain and cold here too.,.... Brian

  17. Sounds like a filter or pump issue to me. Brian
  18. I dont know what its called, but you should be able to look it up here using the parts diagrams and order it too, their prices are usually pretty good. http://www.partshark.com/custompage.asp?pg=yamahaparts Brian
  19. Pam lives in Manitoba Canada where they have provincially run vehicle registration and insurance bundled together. No competition and Manitobas prices are high even compared to the rest of Canada. My 85 venture runs about 60 bucks a month here in Saskatchewan (next door to Manitoba) but I can just pay for it month by month, I am not sure what the rules are in Manitoba. My Insurance covers collision with 500 ded and liability. I also buy storage insurance for my bike that runs me about 75 bucks a year for 5k replacement protection as my bike sits about 3 or 4 months a year. Brian
  20. I think he has been spending a couple of days with Teri and Irv waiting for weather to warm up and dry out. I think the plan was to start out today and head to MN. but I dont know any schedule. Brian

  23. I bought an auxiliary antenna for my quest GPS when I got that error and it seemed to fix the issue and gives me a bit better coverage and response time thank the built in antenna used to. I think the antenna fits most Garmin gps.s and looks like a satellite radio antenna. I think it was 25 bucks. Brian
