Never trust the help, they'll take short cuts where ever they can. Are you sure the sheets were cleaned?

Too late at night to ramble, but I might tomorrow. You did say some interesting stuff. We'll see tomorrow, oh I mean later today.

In honor of Leslie for ‘All’ our beloved fallen...
Marcarl replied to dragerman's topic in Watering Hole
This has got me to thinking, and that sometimes can be dangerous. It's a grand idea, and any help with having cagers recognize riders is worth the effort. But if someone were to organize such a grand scale effort, the results should be at least somewhat reflective of the sweat and hard work going into it, and that's not to say that if it saves only one mishap it ain't worth the effort, but such a grand scale should reflect as best results as possible. Therefore, we maybe should look at why we as riders are not noticed or not allowed our space on the road, and once we have determined those issues we can then address them as this is set this up. So why are we not noticed on the road, is it because we are small compared to cagers? sometimes that's true, Is it because we change position too fast too often?, also a point to be considered. There are other points to be considered but I think the main problem is that others just don't give a darn, and why not? Because they don't know us, really know us. They see us as bikers who are like those advertised on the HD advertisement posted elsewhere on this site. Even the the post in the thread show that on the whole we don't associate with what is projected, so also the general public. In order to change that view we need to get out and meet folks, face to face, spend time with them, let them get to 'know us'. Sure we see a lot of interest and excitement when we have a ride of a number of bikes but the underlying attitude hasn't changed. So how do we change that. A newspaper article with a picture of 100 bikes is interesting and will help some, but does that get the most value for the money so to speak, or can it be done more effectively. How can we meet folks, talk to them, shake their hand etc. How can we become something more than that idiot on a bike, or that issue I really don't want to deal with at present. I know, if we all changed our riding styles, crotch rockets etc. included, we would do a lot for the issue, but that's not about to happen so we need to work with what we have. Just My thoughts, not necessarily my opinions.- 29 replies

You sure that it's your Grandson? Looks just like the one I got earlier this year, and last year and the year before. Ain't they wonderful? Go easy at first or momma won't let you near him to spoil him afterwards. Congrats Carl

Nice job, you did it backwards, now try the right way, RED on positive and BLACK on negative. Aren't you glad you didn't tell anyone you know?

Heard somewhere that it takes a 1000 miles to get used to a new scoot and be comfortable with it, and they got it just about right. Get used to it single before you add the extra body and teach the passenger all about lean, when to and when not to. Tell her she should be just a bag of wheat strapped into the back seat and to sit very quite at low speeds, no turning of the head or leaning of the head either. You'd be surprised how much it will through you off at low speed if she turns her head.

Don't want to through water on this discussion, but I bought Chatterbox 2 years ago, use them regularily because I can't go anywhere without my wife and so far the only problem I had with them is when Marca decided that a twist was a good thing in trying to connect her two cords which bent the pins in the middle of the night.

Keep in mind that what you're looking to do is vastly different than towing with a cage. A motorcycle has only 2 wheels as opposed to a cage with 4 on the road, and any sway from what ever may cause it, is going to be exemplified on a bike. The weight differential of a scooter is also very much less than that of a cage so anything that might comes to the 'mind' of a trailer will have a profound impact on the scooter. That's all the big words I'm going to use. Carl

Now I don't mind towing something behind me, but that thing is something my scooter would be sure to try to get away from. Maybe something for a 2nd gen for more getup and go.
-
Maybe think about putting on a Reese type hitch, getting one of those hitches where you only put the front wheel of the bike into and see what she tows like. I would think though that you're asking for a lot. The weight is no problem, but as stated before the center of gravity would be my concern.

He waking up, give him some time, it's hard to go back to work after soo much time off and then be expected to be on your mark immediately.

Seems to be an interesting site. Lots and lots of bulbs available and at really reasonable prices. I think I'll order a bunch and see what happens. As far as a use for passing lamps though, I would think that according to the specs you will be seen. But will you see much in the dark is my question. I haven't yet seen any LEDs that do any sort of a job on giving out light that can be used for illumination. So far I will stick with incadescents or halogens for my passing lamps, but marker lights and signals would be interesting to change.

I would check for leaks first and then decide if I blew a shock. Seems to me that if you blew the air bag in the shock you wouldn't be wondering if you damaged something, you would have heard a bang and the shock would not hold air what so ever. But from your post I gather that it does hold air but leaks kind of fast, so that tells me that you may have an airline leak instead.

We'll let Charlie have a break-away at the next hockey game, and he'll be there before he knows it.

Ya but won't this debalance the scoot?????? Oh never mind I just seen who posted this.

I agree that those soldiers have more right to be there than anyone else. But I would also put most of the blame on our media and of course the folks who will buy the media to read it. I'm not saying the media is directly to blame for what happened in the UK but it has a lot to do with the opinion of the general public, in this case the woman that was indicated and the other folks who didn't seemngly stand up for the soldiers. It happened in the UK but could just as easily happened in Canada or the US. Let us be vocal about our support for our Vets and not let them down like as happened here. Carl

Awesome, I hope it don't crash again when I'm finished with my email.

Posted at their web site: due to the overwhelming response to this link their site has crashed. They are trying to fix it asap. We try again later.

Does that mean that you're going fishing and we have to clean our own?

Just on the off chance or for the fun of it: Loosen the axle bolts, then loosen the pinch bolts, not tighten the axles and then retighten the pinch bolts then torque the axles.

How come Charlie always seems to be at the BUTT end of the stick??????????

Who says he knows anything, he just gave you an answer and you hope it's the truth. Worry none, PEIslander has it right. Don't worry about the stator, leave it in place and put a wet rag around it when you go to weld. Aluminum welding should not produce enough heat to bother it any. Enjoy your efforts and when you go to put the cover back on, be sure that the shifter linkage, in behind the cover, is in the up position, not hanging down as it would like to. The cover will install with it in the down position but you will have fun trying to get it to place right, put it in the up position and all will slide together slickidesmooth. As a bonus you will also be shifting in the right direction when you're done.

The Air Fell Out of My Rear Tire, And the RideOn Didn't Seem to Work
Marcarl replied to 86er's topic in General Tech Talk
I'm wondering if you used a differnet type of tyre sealer before using Ride-On and so got a chemical mixture that don't work good together? An d did you shake the can real well before using it, or maybe it was old product???
