  1. The 8" tires take less air than the 12" so you don't have to drag as much of that around with ya. Important to realize when you need to fill up with air in Ottawa or Washington. Needless to say, if you don't go to those type of places maybe it won't concern you too much.
  2. The other thing to check would be the oil level in the crankcase. It should only be halfway up the glass, no more, any more than that you'll be shooting oil up into the breather right between carbs 1 and 3 so that might also give you some problems.
  3. Years ago we walked where ever we went, or we rode a horse. We would talk to folks as we passed them, ask about things in their life and their families, we could tell if they were lying or if they told the truth, because we could see them. Then slowly on we got cars and we just waved and then the cars got windows and air conditioning and then the windows were tinted so that now we don't know who we are passing. The same goes for communications, first a letter, then the phone and now we have email. Can we really tell who's who from email? This may seem a bit religious and probably is, but our world is being set up for a one world government, and how can that happen unless we as a general population are first isolated from each other? The progress is far advanced on this issue, but who cares? As long as we can live in our own little world, the government can do what they want, but when the beast finally takes over, it will be too late to stop it. You mentioned that if we took away all the 'goodies' that we are so used to today that you could go right on living, not so. Take away one little thing - electricity - for only one week and see what kind of soup we would be in. What if we could no longer communicate via the internet, what would happen to production, food on the stores shelves, cars in the drive way, bottled water and the list goes on. If we can go by how many people actually vote for government then we see how many people really care about what the future holds. If half the population doesn't care then that half will dictate to the rest of us how things will be, and those of us who care will be swept along with the masses whether we like it or not. We have seen so much change in our lives that we are quite used to closing our eyes to things we don't go along with, and then accept the change as 'that's life today'. Aacchhh I could go on, but maybe you get my point Carl

  6. Ok so I'm assuming that it has been colder there than the present temp. All that is metal will be cold and with the high humidity with the rain and all, moisture will collect on all those cold items, scoots, tools, lawn mowers, jacks, you name it. Nothing you can do but try to keep the metal the same temp as the air, which is hard to do in your case. The best defense that I can think of is to spray all the surfaces with a wax or WD40, but then that leaves the problem as to how to remove it later. Even an osculating fan might be of help, just to try to equalize the temp (air and metal). As for the inside of the engine? My guess is that would see moisture as well. Best to plug the carbs and exhaust with an oiled rag when it's still warm, not hot, just a little warmer than the outside air.

If you take all the advice so far, it should work for you, good luck.
  16. Didn't say I never did it, or will ever do it again, lol, but they sure made a good point of it at riders training, guess they figured we'd all do it sooner or later and probably sooner and later and then again later,,,,,,,,,,,
  17. Oh sorry, I thought you said dog. On to the next thread.
  18. When I took my novice training course we were not allowed to touch the bike until we were all suited up, proper pants, boots, gloves, jacket and helmet. One guy forgot to tie the strap on his helmet twice after which he was told to find some else to train him. We were then allowed to start the scoot but not mount it, wait until it was warmed up, gun it a couple of times to make sure it responded properly, PUSH IN THE CHOKE and only then were we allowed to mount up. GOOD TRAINING!!!! can get somewhat tricky if the choke is out and the idle a little high when you need to stop suddenly.
  19. Careful with that green stuff under your scoot, it has a tendancy to turn white while you're asleep, just my experince anyways. Nice scoot, 'course it a Yammi and black!!!!!!!!!!!!!:happy65: ENJOY
  20. What's an ultra????????????
  21. I'm really starting to like this guy, he's fitting right in, only thing we have to keep him away from Freebirds or keep a real close eye on him while he's there, you all know waht happened to Charlie and he ain't been the same since.
  22. You better have one of those there deck raising bees if you want him to come over, lets see, there Squidley, Lumberjack, Mother,,,,, just to name a few, and then there's Joopie, well I'll tell ya I hope I can make him a regular customer. Don't know if I can stack enough pepperettes in the scoot to keep them all going for that trip, may have to take the trailer. Now before you get all hepped up about getting together in the spring, Joopie, keep in mind >Marcarl's Meet & Greet, May 24th 2008

Every dark cloud has a silver lining, sometime we just can't see it. Let it pass, go on with your life and let others live their's. Their life is their responsblity and if they get taken out,,,,,,,that's what accountabilty is all about.
  24. More abrasion resistant? could be and so is kevlar and steel. I just wonder why use leather at all. The leather must be very thin, or completely remade to be able to stretch like that. Might just as well do away with it altogether.
  25. A minister told me one time that there is an angel riding with me when I go out in my car, one on each corner, ( according to angel literature there are lots to go around). Now they stay there, and help protect me, as long as I stayed within the law. If I started breaking the law, then they would get off and I would be on my own. Seems reasonable to me, but that raises the question, why the visit to the alter when you know you're going to do wrong? Doesn't all tie in, in my mind. Can he ride? I suppose so, it was all calculated risk, anyone could do that if he\she had the guts, thing is some of us see too much risk and enjoy other things in life too much and don't want to loose them so we won't risk it. Will some other young bucks try what he did \ does. You bet they will and maybe not have the luck, energy, calculations, or the guts to end up with the rubber down. One tiny bit out, one little bit too slow, just a wee bit too soon and he's dead meat.
