Thanks for all the best wishes guys and gals,,,, hope it works out well for you all. Don says there not a lot to do really, we are mostly a well behaved bunch,,,, buuuuttt that might change rather uniquely in the next little while,,, guess I need to practice a little here and there to get to know how to do things,,,,, so if you notice that your post is deleted, or moved or edited or just generally made a mess of, you can take comfort in the fact that I have been at work and trying to do my job. Generally speaking though, I don't think I'll loose any sleep over this and am looking forward to be a help in keeping this forum the best on the web.

Nope Nope and Nope, door does not slide against inside of block, it slides against a piece of wood, 2x6, 2x8 or what ever size you use. You could just frame the inside of the door with one layer of 2x8 and then build a frame inside the door opening to 'hang' the door and hardware. Some picture of my garage door. 1) show headroom needed,,, mine is low rise so you need at least that much room 2) side framing, we used 2x4, but 2x6 is better for you need the width to fasten it to the block wall 3) show hardware at top corner 4) shows where the spring goes and you can see the amount of room needed for the spring to mount 5) another shot of the corner hardware. You could go with a one piece door but you kick your butt even with sore legs.

Scroll down on the site, it will give you the opening size. It shows how many 2x6's thick you need to have on the sides as well as the headers. The door actually slides on the inside of the last 2x6 in the opening, so if the door is exactly 8' wide then the finished opening needs to be 3" smaller, 1 1/2" on either side. So you will need to have 3 uprights on either side the width of the block, so if the block is 8" then 3 2x8s, plus a 2x10 header, keeping in mind that you need a place to attached the spring for a door opener and a place for the hardware to attach to above the door itself. I hope I got this right.

We'll miss you for sure,,,, God bless your life until then.

1st Gen MKI Handle Bar ?
Marcarl replied to GolfVenture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
1) MKI is a 17 mm 2) largest is a 19mm thin wall, if the pinch bolts are loose. So it looks that they a quite similar. -
It's the lack of a camera, you know how everybody always want to become popular,,, start taking pictures, and they'll start posing!

It was a first gen, getting older and gray, I think,,,,pretty hard to tell,,, as usual it was going to fast to really tell,,, it looked good with no tell tale marks, but then most 1st look that way.

What I want to know is: who had the intestinal fortitude to drive by place on Saturday past and not stop in. You have a lot of nerve,,, ya,, you got caught,,, my dearest seen you and don't be thinkin that she would have thought that you just happened to pass by, hey we're not on the main road anymore, and if she sees you, you came to visit, and if you came to visit and didn't stop by to say hello, you now have me all ticked. You're just lucky that I was about 2 minutes behind you, or I would have hunted you down. Hey, we don't often get company out here in the sticks, alright?

Jealousy will get you nowhere, only further behind.

Boomer,,, you has been screwed right out of all your well deserved funds. It says right at the bottom of the message that you are not to contact any bank or agency, and then you are told to contact a bank,,, you're screwed buddy, I feel sooooo sorry for you, and you could have almost been stinkin rich.

You need to do some home work: 1, check out the price of the seals on line. 2, check out what the dealer would charge 3, present the numbers to the missus 4, decide to do the work yourself with the guidance of this forum. 5, ask somebody to come over to help you one day. 6, enjoy the fact that you did your own work. 7, take the young lady out for a weekend on the money you saved.

Patience my friend, it's not tomorrow just yet. I hear that as you get older time seems to fly,,, it does really,,,, but not that fast!!

One lil tweak..one BIG mistake.
Marcarl replied to KIC's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
That screw should not be in there tight at all. The bolt seats on the shoulder so that you 'cannot' overtighten it. So the screw part never really seats and should be finger loose. Try a small precision screwdriver or awl, you just maybe able to wheeew, that was easy! -
OOPPPS, mine were $5.26 ea plus $24.00 shipping on the whole works,,,, seems I have an extra now as well, somehow I ordered two,,, we'll see what was shorted on the order.

Do what you want, you'll not likely do what we anyways, but one suggestion I have: Run the hydro from the ceiling and on top of what ever to put up, that way it makes it easy to change or add to.

Lost my Son
Marcarl replied to naturbar's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
I have no real idea what you are going through, although I know one Father who does, and I noticed that he is your Father as well. Depend on Him, spend some time alone with Him. he will be your greatest comfort and reason for living,,, and yes, you two will meet again one day, what a day that will be. You have our prayers and our heartfelt sorrow.- 112 replies

Maybe you should have signed up for a concrete class.

Glad to hear that it all turned out a lot better for you all, then what could have been. Guess the most help we could be, is to ask our Creator for safety and guidance for you all.

Thanks guys,, other than their communications being a little on the wanting side, so far so good. I think I'll send the boss a note on their lack of talk.
