You need all transfer/sale paper documents. Then get forms from US boarder that you plan to cross. Fill out forms & drop off at US crossing, they will take 3-4 buisness days (to check if stolen/leans etc.)they will call you when it is clear. Go back into US pick up bike & bring into Canada. Pay duty & taxes then you need to regester & Insure. Must leave in the US till it is cleared by US. Hope that helps. :canada:

Dose anyone use a steering damper on their trike? The steering on the trike I'm building seems loose(easy to turn) thinking it may give me a wobble at speed or in turns. Have not road tested yet, working on fairings & paint Thinking I may need a damper.Looking for ideas. Thanks (work in progress) :canada:

TCI & pickup coil ???????
StuD replied to StuD's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It ran like crap but we got it started, backfired up through the carbs, sluggish no power but was running. Do you have a manual? To find out if the Woodruff key has sheared, we 1.remove the spark plugs 2.remove stator case timing plug & cover (2 screws) 3. line up 1tdc mark & check if #1 cylinder is at tdc (my piston was down about 1" @tdc We also removed the valve covers to see if timing chain had jumped, that pointed us in the right direction. Hope that helps. I'm away from home (spring break) but will check in (it an addiction) :canada: -
TCI & pickup coil ???????
StuD replied to StuD's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
After 22 hours in the shop & many checks & re checks of cam position & piston placement we pulled the fly wheel to find the key mangled & the crank shaft galled. After cleaning up the shaft & replacing the Key everything lines up, timing mark, piston at TDC, cams marks lined up. So once I get it back together it should fire up, then on to plastic & paint. Hope to be riding this Trike this season. :canada: -
Brings back many fond memories. Are you planning to return to Cody in July this year? Hope the potatoes were a bumper crop last year. LOL :canada:
