I use Rotella T Synthetic oil (in the blue jug) SAE 5W-40 http://www-static.shell.com/static/rotella-en/images/products/rosn-1gal-5w40-z7.jpg I use a PureOne oil filter part number PL14610. Some use the PL14612 as it is taller, but I have a challenging time installing it on my bike...... so I use the PL14610. http://partsmart.boschwebservices.com/RB/NA/AUTO/AFTERMARKET/PARTSMART/PartSmartImages/PL14610.jpg Oh, I also remove the sticker and spray paint it flat black with hi-temp paint about a week or two before installing.

KiteSquid replied to Goofeychuck's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have not done a side by side as I have not yet bit the bullet to pay that much for LEDs and I have not found someone in my local area who has a set. BUT if you are willing to buy a set for me, I'll test em and post my results -
Only if you want your motorcycle to last a long time. And dont scrimp on the filter............

turn signal bulbs

If you want bulbs you might try clicking HERE to read an article from one of my favorite forum members. -
Because of this, you should lower a bike as the LAST resort. Reshape the seat (shave foam off the top, or narrow the front of the sides of the seat to allow your legs to be closer to the bike are possibilities), buy thicker soled shoes, etc. are all preferred to reducing your maximum lean angle. It might save your life some day........

Porting and polishing the intake and exhaust runners in the heads will help any engine breath more freely, if there is enough material left when the process is complete. HOWEVER it is recommended to remove the heads from the engine to do the process. I watched a CNC milling machine work on a head from a 1st gen ZR-1 Corvette at the Callaway plant in Old Lime CT back in 1993 or so.... The guys over at the Audi site were trying to do unidirectional flow machining, however they did not do a good job of executing it. Now if they did not care about the block or positions, it might be a good job, if they expected to use them, I would say it was a net loss. I would like to see photos of the runners in the head, and the cylinder walls!!!!!!! click HERE to see a company that do it the right way....

I don't have a tank to share, but be sure to post photos and description of the process!!!!!!!! I would like to learn from it too!!!!

They are manufactured by the same company, Innovative Lighting. They are 15" stop/tail/turn lamps for the back of semi trailers, or variations of that. The price is all over the place, from reasonable, to WOW what a great deal, to WOW what a rip off. BTW I found one that all the lamps come on dim for running, all on bright for stop, and it has built in reflectivity, which is GREAT when the bike is parked...... It was a scratch and dent, for $6 plus shipping.............

Honda moly60 grease on the splines of the drive shaft and clutch hub that connects to the final drive quieted mine down. I also put some Honda Moly60 Grease in the final drive with synthetic gear lube.

Do you turn the fuel off...
KiteSquid replied to yamadawg's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Look at a bunch of vintage bikes and a lot of them will have repairs to the bottom of the gas tank, on kick stand side. Water will get in your gas, either from seepage into the underground tank at the gas station, or through condensation from humidity in the air. Look at the inside of your gas tank. MOST of them are bare metal. The water will rust out the tank over time. One way to get water out of your gas tank is to put alcohol in it, like adding Seafoam, or most gasoline manufacturers add up to 10% ethanol to earn points from the EPA. water that bonds to alcohol will settle to the bottom of your tank. It may or may not corrode your tank, but it does not burn well, so if you last gallon of fuel is this mix of water and alcohol, you wont get very far. Another way to get the water out of your gas tank is to run your bike on reserve. Or bikes have a fuel gauge, and an "idiot light" type mileage counter when the computer in the dash board thinks you have APPROXIMATELY one and one half gallon of fuel in the tank. I normally run my bike on reserve, until the idiot light comes on, then I switch to on. this way I have a secondary reminder of low fuel. It also exercises the petcock to keep it from freezing in one position. So my goal is to use the fuel from the bottom of hte tank first, to try to keep clean fuel there....... I hope this explanation helps. -

Don't forget to run the bike on reserve from time to time. You want to get the water out of the bottom of the tank before it rusts out your tank. -
