According to Snopes this is false.

3rd ditto. As a side note, when my rear tire blew, I had to use my floor jack under the receiver hitch to jack the bike up enough to gett my bike lift under it. Was a little worried about if it was strong enough, but no worries.
-
After installing the new tire, I initially had 32 lbs of air. It felt squirmy. Put 35 lbs of air in it and it still feels squirmy. Concerned about going above the tires max pressure of 35 lbs of air. I saw where others have used 40 lbs and even 44 lbs. Thoughts?

Just changed over the rear of my 05 RSTD to a BFG, but my question/observation. In the 4 years I have had this bike, I have had 4 flats due to nails, all in the rear tire. In the same time, none of my cages has had a single one. Coincidence?

I've got a 2005 RSTD and tried to take my 08 Timeout last weekend. It was the first time I pulled it and the wife. Did I notice it? Yes, it is heavy. Not really an issue until I got caught in stop and go traffic on hills. Have to slip the clutch quite a bit to get going. And allow yourself plenty of room to stop. Not a huge deal and I have every intention of getting it back out as quickly as possible.

I bought my BFG Radial from Discount Tire and they mounted it for me no problems.

Just got my BFG Radial TA 155/80/15 installed at Discount tire for $97 otd. Couldn't balance it, but once I told them it was for a trike (no its not) they had no problem mounting it. Took 90 lbs to seat the bead. Got an interesting tip about the white letters. They told me to wash the blue off and hit it with some flat black paint. Have to give it a try. Not a pretty story on how I ended up on the darkside. Had a Metzler ME880 blow on the high way, loaded with me, the wife and our new to us time out camper. Ended ok with no fatalities, but could have been UGLY.

Never had a single brake problem on my 04. The worst I had was the intermediate shaft. Had it serviced twice, replaced twice. The last (redesigned one) seems to have fixed the problem. Been a great truck for 60k miles for me.

If the weather's nice, next weekend is supposed to be the inauguaral trip out in my new Time Out Camper. -
Mine has always gone down every year until this one. They claim the state of texas has raised liability limits. Guess a phone call is in order.

Yep it will fit. This is what I'm puttin on my 05 when the time comes.

handle bars

Don't remember. Took the bolt to Loews and matched up a nut, had a washer that was just a tad too big and ground it down. -

I would be interested in checking/setting the carbs to maximize gas mileage. I have a set of mercury sticks that I used to sync my carbs and would willing to help anyone with that task. I am located in Garland and drive a 2005 RSTD. -
I've got Metzlers on mine now, but will be putting a ct on when it is worn out.

I just intalled the 5 pin connector on my 05 RSTD and bought a kit from O'Reilly's auto parts for $10 (Hoppy #48345) that had the trailer end, the bike end and a mount for the bike end. Mounted it to the underside of my receiver hitch. Looks factory to me.

handle bars

I went with the Flanders and am pretty happy. Kept all of the stock cables as well. I did weld a nut inside to retain the stock end weights. -
Looks exactly like my 05 RSTD. Must just be a different name.

Aux Power on RSTD
tsigwing replied to okscott's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I've got a connector for a battery tender installed on my 05 RSTD, so I made a simple aux plug using a spare end for the battery tender and cigeratte lighter that I found a walmart. Not installed permanent, but can use it whenever needed. -

Don't have the specifice tool for checking this, but there is no binding or friction and it isn't loose enough to flop to either side.- 11 replies

Clunk, rattle hmmm
tsigwing replied to tsigwing's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
The vibration is only their when I hear/feel the clunk, not all of the time. The steering is binding and isn't too loose, just seemed that would be the most common issue related to steering. I have also checked the air pressure in the front and rear tires as well as the air pressure in the shocks, everything there is fine. Never hit any major bumps or ruts with the front tire, so didn't think that would be an issue. My last option is to take in to the dealer. I HATE using the dealer for this kind of stuff, usully get a "could not duplicate" and waste a bunch of time.- 11 replies

Rerouted all of the existing cables, don't think the new bars caused the issue, just a curious coincidence.- 11 replies
