I agree with BradB. If you should decide to go to the east coast, you will find scenery not seen anywhere else in the world. I was on the west coast in BC for many years and although the scenery is great by the Pacific, nothing comes near the Atlantic region for scenery. Travel the coast line in NewBrunswick, stop at the Reversing Falls. Carry on the Hopewell Rocks in the Fundy Bay (the highest tide in the world). Keep going following the coast to Peggies cove and visit the morial for SwissAir 111. Keep going by the water to Cape Breton (world reknowned Cabot Trail). On your way back to Northern NewBrunswick, pass through Beautiful Prince Edward Island and back down to Main. Great scenery, great people and great riding at that time of year. And yes, I am sure JoeCanuck, myself and a few others would be please to have a cup of java or even tag along for a day or two. Cheers

Mine is just a dupe of this. If it rocks (I mean really rocks) it's on my MP3 list. I have an 8 gig card maxed out for the zumo with 1000 songs. Lets Ride!

Bluetooth Wireless set/communications
Maritimer replied to thecount's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
I had a similar problem. Connecting 50% of the time and dropping the connection. I found that if I put my phone on my belt it will not stay connected long and keep cutting off. I have started placing it in my breast pocket and...bingo...no more disconnect. Not sure if it is only my phone or if others may get similar results by placing the phone in a more direct line with the Zumo but worth a try. I have only started doing this late last fall and never had a disconnect in the last few rides I was able to sqeeze in. Spring is coming and with that.....more testing.- 34 replies

If you have a Zumo 550 and a blue tooth cell phone but no blue tooth head set then it is what you want. I got mine last fall and just love it. Best thing since sliced bread.

I have seen somewhere that this can be done. I looked for a "How To" but found nothing. Maybe someone who has done this mod could share technical info, parts used etc..... Thanks

Mine was based on this design. If you google for it you will find all sorts of model to make. Some simple, others a bit more difficult. They are all directional. http://consumerist.com/assets/resources/2007/04/The%20Government.jpg But I didn't have this type of strainer so I used a large flour sifter. I placed mine on a tripod so I can direct it to what ever direction. Works great. Even in the basement on my PC I can still catch a dozen or so. Upstairs on the laptop I get a few more. A booster is nothing more then some kind of parabolic contraption that can gather signal and direct it to your WiFi adaptor. The larger the parabolic contraption, the stronger the signal you will get and more entry points you will have access to. Not much good while in your car though LOL For more like this, you can google "DIY WiFi booster" or search instructables.com. That is where I got the instctuctions for the one above and adapted it to the material I had available. Cheers

Well, my buddy and I made a WiFi booster that can reach nearly 10 miles. He lives on a bay and he can easily reach the 10 miles across. I only get around 12 more entry points strong enough just in my neighbourhood and I live in the country (because of the vegetation.) Don't believe for a minute that you are procted just because you are in the country.

LED Brake Light and LED turn signals
Maritimer replied to Maritimer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I got in touch with their Tech Help about changing some components such as putting the running/brake/turn signal combo in the rear as part of that kit and adding the "no load stabilizer" as part of the kit. They said it is not a problem. Great service from those guys. Thanks for the reply on this stabilizer N3FOL and all others. -
I have had a Kisan for 2 years now and will not go without again. It cost me $115 Can delivered with UPS, customs and all taxes in. Duty is what kills us in the GWN. If you can get it delivered via USPS you will save on dusy and do away with the high charges UPS charge for delivering to Canada from the US.

Hey Ross. Nice scoot. I knew there were 3 of us around Fredie Beach with a Midnight. 2 of us work on base (retired military) but we never met the third. The 3 of us should get together this summer and do a Midnight only Ride-in LOL. Looking forward to at least meet for coffee when season starts again. I should have mine out end of March for around the block and get it out for the season in early April. Cheers

LED Brake Light and LED turn signals
Maritimer replied to Maritimer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
So the stabilizer can be installed after the fact? So if I opt to go as ksiceman's setup and I find it flashes too fast, I can still go back and install I would think...right? I think I'll get the stabilizer though...sounds interesting. Thanks for all the replies guys -
LED Brake Light and LED turn signals
Maritimer replied to Maritimer's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks for the replies guys. I guess from reading this I will stick with the plug and play turn signal instead of the 3 in 1 signals. Anything I should know about the load equalizer before I tackle this job? Location for it? Problems in connecting it? Thanks again -

Got caught in fog once and that was enough. When I got home, I cut my stock windshield down until I could see clear over the top of it. I loved it so I went and bought a shortie extra-wide. I still had to cut an inch or so just so I would have clear view over the top. I wouldn't go back. Even with only my prescription glasses on, I still see well in heavy rain. cheers
