  1. I Just received the Buddyrich cable last week and had some time today to install it. I like some of you need pictures and and maybe how too Instructions. # 1 Remove Fairing # 2 Looking from the front of the bike on the left you will see this cluster of color connectors (Lift the RED Connector up a bit and un-plug it. # 3 I put a little DIELECTRIC grease in the cables # 4 Now take the BuddyRich Cable and plug it into each of the bikes corresponding cables. # 5 This is what it looks like after the New Cable is plugged in. # 6 Take some Black Electrical Tape and wrap them up to help water proof them. # 7 Run the Small wire from the BuddyRich Cable through your fairing up the (MICROPHONE IN-PORT) on the Zumo Cradle # 8 Turn Zumo on and make it find your Cell Phone.. (TEST IT) Plug your helmet into your bike connector like always then have your Radio System on AUX switch to headset and make your call. I also Ran my Other 3.5 Connector in the AUX Port on the Zumo Cradle For my Loaded MP3 Music that I play from my Zumo. My Findings Were More then I Expected. The set-up worked perfect. I first called my Daughter from the bike with my helmet on from the garage. she could her me perfect and I could here her perfect as well. Then I Had my Wife come out and put her helmet on she could hear the call being made and My Daughter talking to me. My wife could not talk to our Daughter. But she could tell me what to say to her from helmet to helmet. Also , with the Zumo's MP3's Playing it will Mute it when the call is being made or coming in. I also was able to have the speakers on the bike on (not the H/S) and hear and talk to my Daughter. So for the price this set-up works PERFECT! Thanks Buddy for taking the time and making these cables for us. (Buddy make sure you add anything else I Forgot before Don puts this into the TECH Files.) I Hope this helps some of you folks. (not sure why these two photos are at the bottom of this page) --1/12/12 -- NOTE:: I have noticed that the 3.5 connector will fail after a year or so , so I have been going with the (GOLD PLATED ENDS) they seem to last longer from all the vibration going on. Jeff
  2. Here are some Pics of the wind deflectors I purchased from BuddyRich on my 05RSV. They really make a difference, made a couple of rides this last weekend early in the morning (51). Like the look, they look stock. Might be hard to see with the Black on Black. Great Job Buddy. Also one of the pics shows the Venture decal I got from Freebird on my tank bib. Fits right in. Thanks again Don. Perry
  3. OK,a few watched the post "Member in need of Help" where we helped out a Member from Utah with a shock problem and figured out fast we had somthing going on..Well We did! Ponch and BuddyRich cooked up an idea to get together at my house for an "Adjust Valves learning seminar maintenance day" We had this Grand Idea if we took 4-5 members and taught them how to adjust valves we could spread our knowledge with everyone else at Mini Maintenance Days in the future. Well,V7Goose Myself ,Ponch,Gunboat and GuthDaddy tackled into it. It was a successful learning experience.I now know how to adjust the valves on a 2nd Gen. I also know I am not as young as I thought I was, and seeing my bike torn down was a very TRAUMATIC experience to say the least. Also, I learned before I do it again I WILL buy a Motorcycle Jack that I can drive onto and lift it to where I can stand up and work on it! We did 4 bikes and took from daylight till dark..hope BuddyRich made it home OK. The other thing I learned is I can't see as good as I thought I could! Anyway,Thanks To BuddyRich for the special tool and expert help,V7Goose and the rest for everything. A special thanks to Ponch for making a set of gauges to put in place of my cassette player..I now have a Temp Gauge, Oil Pressure gauge and a Volt meter where the cassette player WAS! V7Goose...thanks for showing me how to set my floats..it sure is running great! 2.5 cases of beer,1/2 gallon of salsa, a case of gatorade,100 gallons of water, couple gallons of tea and 8 bottles of ALEVE was all it took to make it thru OK! Tom Next to last Picture,Goose in a heavy conversation about the Venture front forks...Last picture ONE of my dogs trying to find the squirrel that just ran up that darn tree"Im gonna get that Squirrell" little did it know it was on the other side of the tree getting an acorn out of that hole! NOTE,ADDED 2 Pictures of the Gauges at the last. Tom
  4. Is anybody using the Zumo 660 with the BuddyRich cable and BT phone? Are you getting good results being heard on the other end when talking on the phone? For the record, folks in the Zumo forum are reporting weak voice under different configurations. This is NOT a problem with the BuddyRich cable. I am getting weak voice myself and looking for feedback from other Venture owners. Cheers!
  5. Are all of these work together? I have just purchased the Zumo and ordered the buddyrich cable to use with te cell phone. I was considering the mic-mutes before going to the rally this year, but I want to make sure the I can still use the Mic-Mutes with the buddy rich cable.
  6. Well I finally got enough junk cleared out of the way that I could actually get to the bike and get her outside for a spring oil change and wash today. Then I hooked up the BuddyRich cable with the Zumo550 and synched it with my cell phone. It worked like a charm. I can now use the cell phone and hear it through the helmet speakers and use the mic to talk on the phone. It's not that I anticipate using the cell phone much while on the bike but it's handy when you do need it, and with both my parents and the in-laws getting older and ill, it's nice that if something happens, they can reach me if I'm out for a day trip on the bike:dancefool::thumbsup2:. My hats off to BuddyRich for a great job!
  7. Anyone know how and where to get the Buddyrich cable that connects your Garmin Zumo 550 microphone to your headset wiring? I have seen threads talking about a Buddyrich cable, but I'm not sure where to get one and how much they are. Please help.
  8. OK, done with the bottom end, everything but middle gear cover on (hookup hose to clutch slave cylinder), time to check the valves. Gotta pick up some feeler guages tomorrow (metric or standard?), then tomorrow night get'ter done. Huge question----- got the loaner kit from BuddyRich (Thanks KYCaveman & BuddyRich), how does the tool work? Before I screw something up, book doesn't show, all it says is to install it, then rotate the cam to remove it. Also, with timing mark on T1, lobes are laying just off to the side of the intake and exhaust valves. After measurement, do you turn the lobes up, or what? Searched for a thread on this but could not find one. Last item to do before buttoning up the motor and moving on to the frame and everything else. Thanks, Dan
