  1. I have been using mine for years. I would never leave for a ride longer then 1 hour without it. A must for all riders.
  2. I didn't have to change my cables but I had to re-route the ones on the right from around the fork to between them. Works great and only took a few minutes to do.
  3. LOL Makes sence
  4. It's just that I was reading a Tech Help on the Mic Mute and it seems to work well with a blue tooth phone. One can listen to the music via speakers and the phone will kick in on an incoming phone call in the HeadSet. I am not even sure I understand it correctly. It just seems to be a more all around better setup if you want to take advantage of the blue tooth feature. See if you understand it as I did or if I am out to lunch http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15370&highlight=Mute Cheers
  5. Tx Wizzard765 and Jercoupe for the info. It sounds like a quick fix. If however one decide to get the Zumo 550 GPS, the mic mute might be the fullest solution. But for now, I don't have the zumo and this is a quick 'n easy fix. Cheers
  6. How does that work for the back seat driver? Does she have one or does she tap you on the shoulder to get you to turn the mics on? It sounds interesting and a fait bit cheaper then the Buddy Rich Mod and so much easier to install.

Tx Wizzard and MarCarl. It does sound like it may be as good as any other around. Cheers

So how's that J&M HS8154 working out for you Rez? I am considering getting that unit but I am a bit worried that you really get what you pay for. Is it a GOOD unit or does it just "Do the trick"? I don't want something to be only used for intercom. I would like to listen to my musak also and need descent speakers for this. Who else has that? Are you pleased with it? Cheers
  9. Thanks Gary. That is basically what I was looking for. So there should be no surprises at the top right? That is where I will do my disconnect then. sarges46 My risers came from Baron. Much nicer already aside from those cables. Cheers and thanks all for the replies.
  10. After installing risers, I how fine my throttle cables are too short when I turn my handlebar hard right. Not bad on a straight run or turning left but tight enough to cause concerns on the right. I would like to re-route the cables in a more direct path but not sure how to go about disconnecting from the throttle grip. I can only see 1 screw...is that it? Is there anything I should worry about falling when I take the grip apart? Looks like I will need to move the master cylindre fluid and brake handle...am I right in my assumption? Anything I might need to know before I tackle this, please feel free to let me know... Thanks
  11. You can connect your Zumo via the Earphone connector to the Aux plug in the bike. From there, you can either listen to it via the bike's speakers or via any head set that can be connected to the bike. I am using this latter system and it works great. Of course, I had a ground loop problem and had to get a ground loop isolator from the local Rat Shack and the problem is now fixed. Works great.
  12. Nolan N42 (open face) or N102 (full face) both come with a integrated Blue tooth. They also have a multi-media cable to connect to your scoo't existing system. You can also just take the corded system and use yout Zumo's blue tooth ability to snag your bluetooth phone's signal. The passenger can also connect directly her helmet to yours via a small cord. Works great also. There are many variations of the installation of this system depending on what you would like to do. Cheers
  13. Yep so it seems. At least, this ground loop isolator fixed the problem.
  14. Just got back from a 2200 miles run. Some back roads, some highway, some mountains, even some gravel roads. I averaged 42 MPG US and 51 MBG Canadian. On individual tanks, I had as good as 56 MPG Canadian.
  15. Thanks. This is the very best. I found 1 at Rat Shack but with the universal connections. Cost me $31 Can but did the job. The sound is unbelievable. Clear as a bell. Thanks all for the replies.
  16. thanks I will check the ground first and see what gives. Cheers
  17. When ever I connect my GPS to my Aux, I can hear it clearly if it is only on its battery power. However, if I connect the GPS to the Cig Lighter via its power cable, RPM noises over come the sound of the GPS. Even through my headset I can not hear it properly if powered other then its own battery power. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks
  18. I also cut mine down a few months ago and glad I did it. I used a similar method as Jimesaj as far as marking and taping is concerned but I used a jig saw with a fine tooth blade (metal blade works great) to make the cut. I first removed 5 inches and found it still too tall so I repeated the prosess again for another inch. I now look about 1 1/2" below the top and through the shield and I can sit up some and look over top in rain or fog. Cheers
  19. In the summer it can get pretty hot down there but you can use lower deflectors to move the heat away from you or in the winter, the lowers act in the opposite way by re-routing heat to your legs. Also, the use of Hi-Pegs is pretty good to get your legs out of the way of the heat. We just had a bit of heat here at 90F and it was not a real factor for me.
  20. I don't think the Canadian Regulations will help but just don't use it if you don't think it will help http://www.webbikeworld.com/Motorcycle-Safety/Modulator-regs-canada.htm Hope you get out of this ticket. Even if I was charged, I would still use one.....at least you are still alive to go and fight this ticket...
  21. I have the Kissan and love it. I wouldn't leave home without it on. It actually runs the light cooler then at High Beam constantly. It flashes to 80% ish (can't remember the exact %) of the full power of Hi-beam there by keeping the bulb cooler. The light sensor stops the modulator at about the same time where you would think of removing your sun glasses for the night and as stated, you can just turn it off by turning to low beam. I turn mine off on 4 lane Hi-way cuz I have noticed Big Rigs think I am signaling to them they have cleared me and start moving back in my lane too early for my taste. However, on off roads or in town, it is amazing how many cars stop dead in there tracks before they pull out of their driveway. I even had ppl pulling off to the shoulder in front of me to allow me to go past them.....I luv it. Cheers
  22. I am looking for similar answers. How much and how?
  23. Well, I had my seat re-upholstered to lower it and it is pretty good that way but I also would like to lower the bike. Most ppl say that the leveling kit is best for low speed stability but I can't afford to raise the beast by even a half inch. So maybe the best way for me would be to lower the front end. Achieve better stability and lower seat height. AZSpyder, how did you go about lowering the front end? Any pics? Or a "How to"? Tx
  24. Ppl are happy with both of those brand. I was also looking for one but couldn't wait to get it so I cut my stock shield down and I am very happy with the end result. I will keep my stock for a while now before I go and get a new one.
  25. Does the music keep playing or does it cut off when you press the switch to talk? Could it be just the volume of the intercom?
