  1. Thanks. I'll stick to the full LED or HID. BTW, any one has a comparison between LED and HID? Could be interesting to know.
  2. Thanks bro. Much appreciated. I have been contemplating getting LED for a while now. I think I'll take the jump and do it. Cheers
  3. Many complained of the LED headlamp interference with the readio. Any comment on that?
  4. The dealer looked at the speaker. It was literally coming apart at the seams. They will replace under warranty. $115 for one Clarion speaker 25 Watt. Next time will be at my own cost, I will replace with better quality and higher wattage. For now though I'll use the warranty.
  5. UPDATE: The shop owner called me back. Said he had been on the phone with Yamaha HQ and in fact the speakers are covered. However it comes with a BUT.. Covered BUT they don't know if I played my music too loud and blew the speaker, or if the rain got in it and rotted it or if I used too much water etc.... All of the above should be covered IMO. Water fro rain or washing should not affect a waterproof/exterior speaker. If it does that is their problem. I will now take the bike over and likely leave it for a few days or week or whatever so they can properly look at it. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.
  6. They are giving me a song and dance about the Clarion being only guaranteed for 3 years. I told them my guarantee was for 5 years bumper to bumper and I want that respected. They can go after Clarion for the replacement either at Clarion's cost or their own....the shop owner is looking into it now. I'll see if they respect that or not.
  7. Was thinking about that. I heard the polk were really good. Any insight on where I could get them online since I am in the GWN? Or is there anything better or more accessible? Thanks UPDATE: NM, google is my friend. I have found them on this side of the border for $90 per pair with half off for the second pair and free shipping. Now I need to see if it would be cheaper State side.
  8. My right rear speaker just started making weird noises when I drive. It seems when the wind hits it just right it just loses it's crispness (if that's a word). Should that be covered under warranty? The bike will be 5 years old at Christmas. I called the dealer and he said he would check but sorta said it wasn't. He never got back to me to confirm. If it is not covered I'll have to look at replacing it somehow. Thanks
  9. I read many good reviews on the haror freight. It looks very nice and the price is certainly right. I may be a bit late in the year to get it, not sure. I'll see if I can get it shipped to a border town and pick it up there. Thanks all for your replies.
  10. Wow what an overwhelming response. Thanks a ton guys. All of this will help greatly to help me decide. great help Thanks
  11. Hi all. I am looking at getting a trailer to pull behind my scoot. Not sure if I should build or buy. If I build, I am sure I can get a couple of friends to do the welding for me at the school where I work. Should it be aluminum tubing? I would think it's better for weight but would it hold on the road? Then put a car top cargo on it again for weight. To buy, not sure where to look for a good price and quality at the same time. Any ideas are welcome. If you have a plan of how to build one I would certainly appreciate it. thanks
  12. Alright. I guess I can do that. Thanks for the info all.
  13. I have one mounted on the right side where the stock horn was but I always wanted to put one in the fairing as well. Is there a good tutorial and pictures on how to do this and still keep my existing stebel on the right? Thanks
  14. Is there any better place to buy one? By better place I mean cheaper I checked FleaBay but nothing cheap there. I am in the GWN but I'll travel south of the border to pick one up if it is worth the it. Thanks
  15. A bike is and has never been intended to pull a trailer either. Many do. But if push comes to shove how legal is it to pull a trailer? There are tons of stuff that fall under that insured/not insured argument. Nuf said.
  16. I put a Kuhmo on mine. $66 Canadian It seated at just under 110 Lbs. Been running strong for 10k miles now and still going. No signs fo wear yet. It still has the blue paint in the thread.
  17. I have never unplugged my mic to wash the craddle nor did I ever cover it in the rain. I have had it for 3 summers and no problems. I recoat with dielectric greas anually though.
  18. That is your problem right there. I also have a Kumho and while I was riding at that high of PSI I also felt like I was losing it. I have since dropped it down to 35 Lbs and couldn't be happier. I will not go back to MC tire. I may however try a different brand then Kumho the next time. Good luck
  19. Yep cause we all know what happens when you don't do this right. Easy fix with the dielectric grease. Once you are in there, might as well put dielectric grease on all your connection and double up with electrical tape were ever you can. Good luck.
  20. And my scoot will be back out of the back of the garage and near the door ready to ride. Come on March......
  21. I like that idea. I have one installed where the OEM was but I would like one on the open road side and not just on the ditch side.....so to wake any cagers coming from that side at me LOL. 2 should be louder then one....the louder the better.
  22. Mine is hard wired to the battery also. I had problems with my Magellan when it was connected to the cig lighter. It was giving me a ground loop problem. No such problems hard wired to the battery.
  23. Thanks Annie and Dave I got it firuged out. I got a bookelet sent to me and found the size of the bolts required. You help was much appreciated. Cheers
  24. I just got a used voyager kit. It has everything with it I guess. The have a couple of question: 1 - Where the belly plate connects to the floor board. I have been trying to remove the bolt but it just won't let go. How should I go about removing this stubborn bolt? 2 - That same bolt at the floor board will require to be longer I assume (not included with the used kit). What should the replacement bolt be? Since I can't take off I can't verify the size. I would assume it is metric. Anyone has a size for that? Thanks
