  1. Thanks Wayne and Carl I have split the fairing and tested all connections. They all seemed tight. So I unplugged everything inside the faring and out at the GPS mount and something must have been out of connection cuz now it works. I had tried that before with no joy but this time it worked OK. Thanks, matter closed.
  2. I have lost voice on my whole system. No CB, no intercom with passenger and no cell phone using Buddy Rich Cable (worked fine before). Not sure if anyone else has had such a problem and where I could look for this. It all started about 2 weeks ago. Not sure if this may be related or not. I had my bike parked in buddy's driveway and his wife backed in my bike on the left side. That flipped the bike on the right and it rolled a fair bit (enough to scratch the top of the fairing and windshield). It may have pulled on the audio cable....not sure. To test I have exchanged helmet with my passenger and still same. I can hear her but she can't hear me. Same goes with the phone and CB, I can hear but they can't hear me. Any idea? I will ask the dealer to look at it under the insurance claim or under warranty....his choice I would think this is covered by warranty...right? Thanks for any suggestions.
  3. You're right Tartan. Subject edited. I have a couple hundred miles on it now and it feels better every turn I take. I tried it in a gravel parking lot where I normally am extra careful and I must say it handled just like it was on Asphalt. I had great riding experience on highway before....now I get that same feeling in a parking lot LOL.
  4. Not really as the subject says....I didn't nearly killed myself in the real term of the word. Here is what happened... I was in need of a new tire for the front of my Midnight '06 and from reading decided to put a Avon Venom 130 in the front. All I was reading seemed to point to a more nimble bike that felt lighter at parking lot speed. So I did just that. Last night after work I went over to pick up the scoot. On the way out from the rear of the service bay there were many big holes. Normally it takes me a bit of dragging my feet and such to get around those. So this time I figured it would be no different. I started to turn around those large pot holes but the bike responded so nicely I kept over-steering. Where normally I have to muscle the bike around obstacles, this time it just seemed to work itself around those. It was a great feeling. I almow felt like I was back on my 81 Virago. I love my bike even more now. I never thought it woudl make such a difference. If I had, I would have replaced the front BrickStone way before this. I found a new love in that Avon Venom 130. Just for the record, I also have the front end losered by 1 1/8" and I run a CT in the rear. Right now it feels to me like the very best combination. "Rock on"
  5. I also like to give plenty of warning for ppl behind me. I find myself pushing the turn signal more then once to ensure it stays on long enough, especially when moving on a highway or fast moving stretch.
  6. Mine is mounted in the same manner as [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?u=3501]yamahamer[/COLO"]VentureRider.Org[/ame]. I would like to add another behind the fairing. Anyone has that? How did you connect?
  7. I'm with you Curtis. My Kuhmo felt slippery at 42 lbs. It felt like I was gonna lose it. Took it down slowly a couple of lbs at a time and now sitting at 35 lbs and never felt better.
  8. Started mine at 42 lbs and dropped it down to 36 after the first 500 miles. Great at that inflation. Much better grip and ride then at 42 lbs.
  9. LOL good. That makes me feel more confident that I can do such a mod.
  10. I put a Kuhmo on this spring and it was the best move I have ever done. You are right on the smoother ride by 1000%. My next tire will be a Kuhmo again for sure.
  11. That sounds like a great mod to do but the problem is that I am not mechanicly inclined at all. How hard is that for a non-mechanic to do? Pictures if required would help or at least a very detailed how to would be appreciated.
  12. I have a Diamond-R and love it.
  13. I am a short 5' 4" with 29" inseam. Using the leveling links was not an option to me so instead I lowered the front end by 1 1/8". The handleing at parking lot speed is much better and the scoot feels much lighter. If I were taller I would also put on the leveling link and see if that would make it even better.
  14. I put these this spring in the back of mine http://www.customdynamics.com/Images/3FunctionSmFINAL.gif They work great. Not only I get LED turn signal (Amber), I also get red running lights and brake lights to go with it. Works great. Here is a post and video down a few posts of my bike with those on. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34601 I have another set for sale if you are interrested.
  15. Check it out. http://www.airrider.com/store/product.php?cookiecheck=true&id=506
  16. This is my feeling also. If/when I get a new bike the first thing to go on the bike would certainly be the modulator. The pros certainly out weigh the cons. Many times ppl were pulling from side streets in front of me and stopped short when they noticed my lights. I am certain I can be writing this today because of my modulator. If I ride behind a cager for a length of time, I will turn it off. I also turn it off in a group of bikers unless I am leading. 12 of my buddies were going to a wedding last year (no modulator) a cager went over the center line and took out 5 including the groom. The groom lost a leg below the knee and my buddy is still in a wheel chair. The cager said he saw them but thought they were a car that was much further. I think a modulator would have gotten his attention. I had that happen to me once....the trucker thought I was signaling to him it was safe to pull in front of me...nearly took me out. Now when a trucker passes me, I turn it off. Mine is also wired on the High Beam. Easy on/easy off. I would never ride without again.
  17. Sorry double post. Please remove.
  18. Well, 5 days now and still no pics. I am starting to believe that new "mid-day" is non existing.
  19. Upload them to PhotoBucket
  20. Here is an opportunity for any one thinking of visiting the Maritime this year. June 24 to 28, 2009. http://atlanticade.com/ Hope to see you there.
  21. I was looking at the lights on your bike (your profile album). I like those. Especially the ones on either side of the fairing and those under the trunk on either side of the light bar. You don't happen to have a "How to" on that do ya? I looked in the tech section but couldn't find anything on that. If not a how to, at least what lights you got and where from. Thanks
  22. Here is a small video I posted on Youtube [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naf7zjT6kv4] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=naf7zjT6kv4[/ame]
  23. I got'er done. Looks dang kewl I must say. Glad I added those clusters. Best lighting for the buck. Thanks to Ponch for the pictures and Dave for the hint on lubricating the boot. I did that and it worked great. Thanks for the help in performing this mod. Cheers
  24. Tx Ponch. Pictures are great. I am sure I can figure out what goes on under the fender. So if I am right on this, you remove the part where the bulb connect completly and just ran 4 wires (ground, turn signal, running light and brake light) from the cluster to the license plate. I guess I wasn't thinking of cutting the connector to the light socket but that would make sense and leave way more room to pass the wires. I feel more confident I can do this now thanks to you.
  25. I think I am getting what you are saying Ponch. Can't wait to see the pics. Hopefully I get your drift here. Thanks for taking the time to snap some shots.
