    Brad, you said it looked like te whole exhaust was coming off, make sure the "Y" hasn`t broke in te process....we have a member that used a slide bar dent puller on his, got them off, but a good chance of breaking stuff.... good luck!!!

    Oil and filter shouldn`t be a problem, I would take it in, never heard of that before.. maybe some of the Gurus will chime in..

    I wouldn`t put more then 10-15lbs on top of trunk rack...I have had my trunk its self loaded down, as well as the saddle bags , just watch them, you will be able to tell if your hitting the limit as far as weight goes, don`t put the lids in a bind when closeing... but you should be ok.. have a great trip and ride safe
