  1. Barry, you KNOW, by now, that this bunch of hooligans, ain't gonna believe a word you say, without "photographic proof". so WHERE'S THE PICS??? lol just jt
  2. bill, what was that you said in another thread? "too bad i'm a poor man"? well, that sorta holds true for me, too. regardless of their "new and improved" models, i'll still have to keep what i have, 'till i hit the lottery! lol thanks for the info, though. maybe yamaha will release pics, before i get too old to care. just jt
  3. oh , man, ron!~ that is a special gift! in a year or two, she'll be spoiled so rotten, you can smell a half hour, before ya see her. remember, when they are little, they walk on your toes, when they grow up, they walk on your heart~! just jt
  4. MAN, now that is IT!!!! very neat idea, and looks like lots of fun! thanks for posting the pics! just jt
  5. hey hoppy! your labors are slowly taking shape! looks great! won't be long, and you will have a real "showplace". got up to 90* here, this afternoon, and i had to work half a day. couldn't ride anyhow, bikes down waitin' on parts! keep up the great work, just don't over do it! just jt
  6. i have to "whole-heartedly" agree with the "POOR TASTE " statement , where your pics are concerned! the guy with all the JUNK hanging off his scooter, and the "small person", on his junior chopper. those two, in my opinion, were in very poor taste! the rest were REALLY GOOD pics! lol:rotf::rotf::whistling: just jt
  7. couple of WRINKLES, that need ironing out , here! first, i personally had NO part in organizing this event(although i wish i had thought of it),i merely asked MR.Kocian, for permission to post this up , on here. he was elated! said to tell anyone who can make it, to be SURE and wear ALL your "regalia", i guess that means a patched up vest! lol as for donations for this event, i have nothing to do with that , either. i guess if you would like to contribute, you could go to the "link",posted earlier, and contact ron kocian. or---- maybe we could all donate a small amount, and let one of the moderators, donate it in the name of "VENTURERIDER.ORG.!!! i think that would be cool! oh and by the way. i had no intention , of "soliciting" anything from you guys. just wanted to get the word out. thank you all for your kind words, wish i somehow deserved them. just jt
  8. j.b! the guy that set this all up, has REQUESTED, that you meet with him , and snake, and another promoter, on the 17th of april, at BAMC. they will be doing a "cook-out" for the guys, as a sort of "preliminary", meet and eat. ron kocian, is his name, and snake has all the details. one of the promoters, was also a "combat medic instructor", you might know him. just jt
  9. so----Carl, are you saying that a "hand held gps," "won't work , because it might be used at the wrong time"? us pore folks , can't have , ZUMO'S and GARMIN's!!!! lol just jt
  10. steve, as far as i know, this is th ONLY event of this nature! our boys and girls at arms, deserve more than this small token of appreciation notice to anyone who plans to attend: bring at least TWO large bandannas. when these charred and wounded boys and girls , start filing off the buses, you will shed tears!no way around it! and when they load up , to return home, there will be MORE tears, of a different sort! just jt
  11. our "winter geese", have departed for "points north"., and our winter texans, are starting to point their motor homes in that direction , as well. SURE SIGN OF SPRING", and a sure sign of higher fuel prices. at least for a few weeks! just jt
  12. i forgot to post the web link, so here it is , if anyone is interested. http://www.warriorsweekend.org. just jt
  13. i don't really know where to start this, so i'll just post the particulars, and field questions as they arise. on MAY 3, 2008, a group of local sponsors, are going to be bringing about 200, "wounded warriors", down from "BROOKS ARMY MEDICAL CENTER, in san antonio. these guys are all wounded COMBAT veterans, who are in the processes of healing. they will be treated to a day of fishing and visiting at PORT O'CONNOR, TEXAS. they will be coming down by bus, and escorted EVERY inch of the way, by local leo's and pgr riders. EVERYONE is invited to come down and show their support. just pick out one of these "broken warriors",and spend the day "just being there for him/her". or visit with ALL of them. their immediate families, are often hundreds of miles away, and they have nothing to do but sit around BAMC, and recover. our south texas P.G.R , guys will be there to do what ever we can to make this happen , and be a success. . disclaimer: if i have offended anyone , with this post, let me apologize now, and be done with it. just jt.
  14. IT AIN'T SO,dan! it's all a fig newton of your immigration! lol just jt what do ya think it'll take to rectify , your problem? do i need to send the "muffin man", your way? lol just jt

  17. thanks a bunch, Brian. i'll just let my battery tender, hold it where it is, 'till i get my new starter clutch. found one locally , for $104.and change. don't have the time to fool with a rebuild, can't really afford the whole package, so - - - - - - no beer this month! lol just jt
  18. i thought Elvis had "left the building"! lol just jt
  19. alan, the "big Boss", was just giving you a "reality check". glad you passed with flying colors. funny how something like this, shows us how quickly life as we know it , could be changed forever. horse liniment will help the "shin bone", to feel better, providing there is no broken skin. just jt
  20. great idea, todd! gonna give it a try, and i' gonna keep a watchful eye,on that lying a$$ old dog, too! amos is so good at lying, he can look ya right in the eye , and never flinch, while he's telling the "biggest windy", you've ever heard! lol just jt
  21. for all of you smart people, here's a question. will a gremlin bell work in my shop? it seems that some of them lil suckers , fell out of my bell, and took up residence in my shop!!!! tools get moved around, parts get lost or mis-placed, "stuff" winds up on the floor, and under work benches! i know that it isn't MY doing, and my old German shepherd dog, swears HE didn't do it, so it must be gremlins! i wonder if a COW bell, would be big enough to catch them all? lol just jt
  22. thanks , mike. i will put my battery tester on it, and simulate a load, to see how much it holds and for how long. would "draining it, and then recharging it , help in any way? do these things have a memory, like cordless tools? i don't know squat about glass mat batteries. just jt
  23. OH NO!!!!!, rick! that was colder than 20 inches of snow! glad you got to ride, too bad , don had to become a yankee! lol just jt
  24. hey brother, glad to see you back on here. i couldn't afford "squid's HIGH PRICED", cables, so i "appropriated " the raw materials and made my own! lol. makes a world of difference. now that i can get enough power to the starter, i found that i have a starter clutch ,in need of "rebuilding"!!!! oh well, for a 22 year old bike, that has had NO maintenance by previous owners, i guess i should expect more "irritations". just jt
  25. ya'll gripe too much. i had to mow my lawn, for the THIRD time this year, and it is growing so fast, i can almost see it ! just jt
