  1. All the best with the treatments Don. We are all gonna be here waiting to see how things went and are going. The site...hmmm tough one. Dont worry about right now. We will all come together with some consensus by the time you are back.
  2. For safety reasons thats the only way it will work...when the key is set to acc.
  3. Congrats Gary and Mary. We havent met you yet Mary...but we will..somewhere down the road.
  4. Dang Mike! I was searching the house to see if I still had any left...before promising to send one. Ya beat me which is good cause I still cant find the little buggers.
  5. Simple water and brush.
  6. Smaller lighter v-twin. Not as much leg room. But Marilyn really liked it when she sat on one. She said it almost felt lighter than her 1100. She says she will get one when she tires of the 1100 vstar. Also has fuel injection if I recall right.
  7. Vstar 1300T is with the windshield, passenger backrest and saddlebags. They are a nice bike. Oops...I guess it can be called a cruiser.
  8. I envy you Gary....and am happy that you got out!
  9. Thanks Steve I will let him know to leave out the seller and deal directly with Avon. I know they covered the tire....but the installation they did not and you wont believe what the only installer in town charges us! Its bad enough that we are going halfers and buying a tire changer either from Harbor Freight or a similar one here in town. Should get our money back first set. Thanks for the feed-back guys. I put feelers out because I was suspicious. Apparantly without grounds. Its good to to know. Charlie...please dont think I was questioning your credibility, I assumed (theres that word) you only lived in southern Ont, where it gets cold yes, but not like here for the length of time. I lived in Thunder Bay (when it was Port Arthur and Fort William) and it does get nasty there.
  10. I take my daughter to school often on the bike. She lights up when I say we are doing it. Her friends think its the coolest thing as well.
  11. Yeppers...I was speaking of the date code. Maybe its bad luck. But dang what a pain. He got the tires from South west motors and they have replaced one or should I say Avon did. But, he takes off tire....pays to ship there and then waits for another. No riding which is a bummer. My original question was a wonder....if anyone else in the extreme cold...and not knocking southern Ont...but man it gets cold here! -40...even got to -50 in winnipeg this winter, has this problem. He has had it with them me thinks and will see if he can get a credit or something from Avon or SWM and move on to a differant brand. He says its a shame cause he loves the ride and feel of the tire.
  12. I thought of that Charlie...however...all three tires...less than a year old when mounted. Cant figure out why this is.....sure dont hear much of this problem from the guys in the south.
  13. Thanks guys...i will have a look at all the ideas.
  14. My friend and fellow member, Noddy, is really cranky now. He just got his bike out (91vr) and was giving it an inspection. His brandy new Avon front tire is checked again! Cracked all the way around by the rim. Same thing happened to him last year with a brand new Avon. I am wondering if this brand is suitable on the VR front. It's almost like the cold storage has this negative effect. The rear is fine, but it is a larger tire. Mine is fine (rsv) again, a larger tire. So far the avon is a great tire, but you may remember I had this same problem with an Avon on my first gen a couple years back. Anyone think the extreme cold could affect the tire while in storage. His is an unheated shop with wood flooring.
  15. I know I've seen it somewhere here. But, for the life of me I can't find it now. The instructions to installing passing lamps on my RSV. These are the yammy brand. Any help out there? Snow is almost all gone....with some luck we should be able to get the bikes out very soon!

  17. Rivco has a good price on them right now. http://rivcoproducts.com/products/product.php?productid=93&cat=201&page=1 Shipping might hurt though.
  18. Read this tech tip to resolve that little pesky light thing. http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=489
  19. Not that I've seen and certainly not like they sell. Some guys have put led's in the reflectors... I often wondered if the older wing stuff could be easily modified to work.

    WORK

Lots of those guys, Dan, more worried about their careers than the people who work for them. The "soldiers" will always show what the leadership is like in the long run. I dont fit into that group either and get my butt hauled up a couple times for hurting someones feeling.
  21. Well to come to Russ' defense...I was wondering the same thing...only didnt have the..... to say anything...leave that alone Mike! Just as I left the other comment alone....but I do have to go for surgery to get my tongue fixed for biting it so hard! lol.
  22. Mike You are right they are a pain! Right behind the right floor board...that also has to be loosened. Dust off some of that guard money and get her a oil filter relocater from barons..it will be the last time you take that pipe off for routine oil changes. Got one for Marilyns bike..gonna put it on when we change her oil this spring. Pricey but....worth it for the time and risk of breaking bolts etc.
  23. I spoke with Pete tonight on the phone. He is doing well and the good news is he is heading home thursday. He is very happy about that. At least he can be bored silly at home....he does have a nicer view there. He is coming along...getting feeling back in his arm and leg. Hobbles about but still doesnt have full control. He also asked me to register him and Hazel for Arkansas...I have done so. He can pay some day or we will just show up at their place and eat them outta house and home....he makes great elk sausage! It is great that a few of unlucky members are starting to come around. Prayers and the knowledge of lots of support sure work wonders.
  24. Your concern for Don or any member means alot David. We are all waiting with pins for a result. There are no strangers...only friends we havent met yet.
  25. We are all still here and still on your side. Let the bugger do his time....at the same time..let the little one be spared if possible. This guy shouldnt be let out for a long time....he will do it again.
