I might have to sell my '99 RSV. It's the purple and silver color. My photo gallery has photos of it. it's in good condition, no damage just 10+ years of riding. 89k miles, runs great. extras: chrome saddle bag rails chrome front fender rail chrome trunk rack hopnel tank bib and trunk bib chrome kuryakin highway pegs LED tail light chrome trailer hitch by hitch doctor back-off light module trailer light module 4-wire trailer lights old custom trailer included (Built by blackowl) passing lights clearview wide/tall tinted windshield with vent stock exhaust - extra set of Bubs included Purple LED accent lights DiamondR Rope light on trunk under passenger backrest custom LED light bar under trunk newer pillow tops seats and more I'm sure. I've been unemployed since mid-May and programming jobs for ColdFusion are very rare right now. Most companies are not even employing full time people right now. I've had several interviews, mostly get told I'm over qualified or they want someone with exact experience in a certain industry. I have more interviews, but I have to start thinking about selling this. $6,000 firm considering the condition, extras and trailer.

We would like to find a larger trunk for our '84 Venture. Our weekend away showed us we need more room. I know I saw the answer here but I can not find it. Does a trunk fom a 1985 fit onto the bracket on a 1984? The '85 is larger isn't it? If I go with an '86 and newer, I know I would need the mounting bracket, does the newer one bolt right up or are there mods needed? Thanks, Dave

This morning, got to try out the Nolan X-1002 helmet, Condor so graciously sold me. Fits perfectly and has a lot less wind noise than my HJC IS-Max. After supper, I made a Wally-World run, on the scoot. When I got there, I had a ":think:" moment. The new helmet has a quick release buckle on the chin strap. In other words, no "D" ring to hook on the helmet lock. So, this time the trunk was empty and I just locked the helmet in there. How many others here have this predicament? Short of putting your, like this, helmet in the trunk, how do you secure it?

I have a 1989 Venture Royale. My trunk light and emergency flashers don't work. There was some questionable wiring in the trunk by the PO and probably blew the fuse. The schematic shows a fuse in line but I can't find any fuses blown. Is the emergency flasher fuse located somewhere other than the fuse panel?

Does anyone have a picture of their Yamaha trunk rack and Yamaha bag mounted that they could post? I was also wondering how well the velcro straps line up with the rack? Thanks in advance.

I am going to be installing my new trunk spoiler / wing light very shortly. Are there any watchouts or hints to make the installation easier? The instructions are not stellar, and it is not really clear how to make the marking strips that are included stay with the wing while positioning it on the trunk. I would like to hear how you installed yours... -

For anyone in Canada who has an XSCargo store near them... they have a really great deal on those small LED pucks. They are selling the First Alert 3-packs for only $7.99. I put one in my trunk and it works like a charm. The two-sided tape isn't that great though, so i used a bit of 5-min Epoxy to hold the base on. They use AAA batteries and have 3 bright LED's which should last for months of use. Changing the batteries is a breeze and the light just turns and comes off the base and best of all, it matches the inside of the trunk perfectly. Some where out there on 81 in VA is a rear trunk reflector / lghit cover off of my baby. Ill post up a pic of what I kneed later. Its the plastic piece that sits between the turn signal covers on the trunk .My bike is a 91 Vr. If anyone has one of these extra they want to sell please let me know. Thanks in advance. Just curious ... What is the biggest load anyone has put IN and ON their trunk (luggage rack). I am leaving tomorrow for a long trip (1 week to the Grand Canyon). I can put my ROLL BAG on the passenger seat (I'm riding solo), but the trunk is full too...Will I be OK. I am thinking maybe the roll bag is about 20 lbs and the trunk another 25-30lbs. Any experiences? Wally

I'm looking for a couple of those trunk latches used on a Harley trunk. Need both the latches and the hooks. Figured they'd be great for my trailer. Anyone got some? Could maybe even use the 1st gen (86-93) Yammi ones but the Harley ones are more compact in design. If I recall correctly, the Yammi ones there is one that is offset a bit so don't think that will work.

I'm trying to install a trunk on my 07 RSTD and was hoping someone had some mounting hardware laying about. If not, any ideas on how I can mount it? I BOUGHT THE TRUNK OF EBAY AND IT'S A UNIVERSAL MOUNT TRUNK. THANKS

Well picked up my new ride today in Plymouth In. 2008 RSTD new out of the crate from www.Turn1.com Rode it home 226 miles Smooth and no whine must of got a good one will see. Now time to find a trunk for it so GF can ride and be safe. This thing seems to not be as top heavy as the RSV don't know but sure felt good. Check out the Pic's. Star4772

I fixed the cracks in my trunk lid (I hope) and was reconnecting the wiring for the vanity mirror and the tail light when I noticed that there was a crimp in one of the wires where it was pinched by the lid. This has happened before on my bike. Anyone have a good way to protect this wiring and give it the flexibility it needs to open and close the lid? Iowa Guy

:fireman:I am looking to replace the travel trunk and possible the saddle bags on my '02 midnight venture.The bottom of the trunk is cracked around the bolt holes,I can't afford to buy the new oem trunk,does anyone know anything about A-1 motorcycled hard bags? they look pretty nice and are alot more affordable.

I would like to mount yellow LED "trunk side lights" to my trunk as additional turn signals. As shown in the following picture on one of the Texas folks bike. My question is how did you get the wire between the arm rest and trunk. I have never taken either off. Since It looks like I'm not going to be riding for most of the summer due to injury (broke my tail bone) and can't sit down I may as well farkel the bike. Thanks ps. To Ponch. Where did you purchase the LED replacement bulbs for your bike? I have spent over $50 on LED bulbs at Autozone/NAPA and am very disappointed in them. They are no brighter than stock incandescent bulbs. Except for passing lights and headlight I plan to replace every light (even dash) with LEDS. My trunk lid (where the passenger backrest attaches to the lid) has significant cracking around all of the mounting bolts. The cracks have now progressed to the point where they are visible from the outside of the trunk lid. The cracks are in excess of 2"...so I don't believe a "repair" is an option. Probably will have to replace the lid to maintain the integrity and safety of the backrest. Should this be covered under warranty? If it IS repaired under warranty, any ideas on how I can prevent this in the future?

Well I went and took the new 08 RSTD. Couple of questions I would like to put on some kind of trunk and a better passanger riding seat any ideas? I hope to pick it up this weekend. For the cost diff. of 5500 verses thr RSV and how much riding I will be doing in the next few years I thought this was the way to go for now. Same bike as the RSV except for the trunk, fairing, cb and stereo. I can always customize it with extras yes? Will take any suggestions my fellow members have. Thanks Joe

I saw a picture somewhere of how someone had reinforced their trunk to prevent it breaking... but I can not for the life of me find that picture again. My cycle did not come with a trunk so I bought one off ebay and had to buy the mounting rack also, because they had cut off the bolts on it. Would it be enough to just use big washers in mounting it?

The lock on my aftermarket trunk broke again (2nd time) and after paying 35 bucks for the replacement I refuse to buy another POS. Does anybody have a trunk thats toast but the locks still good with key they care to sell? I'm hoping I can improvise it to cover the bolt lock hole and connect with lower section. Any help would be appreciated. God Bless Mike

Just installed my Trunk Organizer today. Very easy install and actually a pretty nice little luxury to have in the trunk there. Actually, it takes up little space and fits the contours of the trunk pretty well (by using velcro). I was very pleased with this addition and it will keeps LOTS of neat little things at my fingertips. ok im looking for a way to stop them from leaking? they seem to close nice and tight? but after a rain or a simple wash job the top trunk gets about an inch of water in it? it runs to the far side while on side stand.\\ the right sadle bag does about the same/ i looked at the latches and see there pop riveted? i saw on ebay someone was selling a upper trunk repair kit? latches small screws straps ect ect. just need to figure out how to remove the rivets if thats the case or if there is just some kind of adjustment and gasket that can be used.

Is there a difference between the 85/86, and 87 trunk? I found a light bar for the 85/86, but was told it would not fit the 87. Anyone know the difference?
