Well I have scheduled to have my right knee to have total knee replacement surgery on Feb 7th. So the I will have 2 bionic knees. One other nice thing is the drugs I get also take my headaches away. Just too bad I get take these drugs all the time. :rotfl:Oh well. Please wish me well on the 7th and send a little prayer my way. Thanks.

Have any of you had hip replacement and still ride your Venture? I'm wondering if the 800 lb. Bike with another 400 lbs on it is tough enough now. Should I wait until next winter to avoid screwing up this seasons riding? Craig's

Has anyone had a joint replacement of the finger? I didn't know about them until today. Doc told me that was the best option for the middle finger middle joint on my right hand. Hurt it fifty years ago playing football. My whole right hand is full of Arthritis. Hope I can still use my front brake after the surgery. tew47

I just bought an '02 Venture with what looks like the pillow top seats and they are cracked on the seating surface between the buttons. Does anyone make a replacement cover for these? I really don't want to buy all new these seem to be comfortable.

I saw a replacement stock antenna last week on Ebay. Someone else finally outbid me at around $60. I was looking for a headset on Sierra electronics (http://www.sierra-mc.com/products.asp?id=145) and saw a stock replacement antenna for only $40. Looks good, is a bit taller than the old one. -
Those who know me know that I complain when I recieve bad customer service. I get the chance to praise a company this time. I have been dealing with Competition Accessories for over 10 years now. I found them when I was looking for a new rear master for my 83 1st gen. (yes, I owned one then) They had one in stock for a reasonable price. While they no longer offer OEM parts I have used them numerous times for various items like apparel and tires and other accessories. Each and every time I have recieved great customer and FAST service. Tires usually arrived within 2 days. Last week they had a great deal on closeout helmets and I ordered 2. One came with some minor damage. Called and spoke to Ernie and he checked and found only 2 of the same helmet left. After confirming that it was in good shape he promised to set it by his desk and when the damaged helmet came in he would immediately ship the replacement out. They sent me a return label and I shipped it out on Monday. They recieved it today and Ernie called to say they had it and would have the replacement out today. Now thats a follow-up!! Point im making is I have never ever had anything other then a pleasant experience with them. They even spent time with my wife on the phone when she was buying me my Tourmaster jacket one Christmas, guiding her every step of the way with patience. And no, this isnt a feel good, group hugging, Kumbaya singing session in the making.....just an honest evaluation of a company I have dealt with over the years.

I am looking for a replacement antenna for my 1985 Ventureproject bike. Does anyone know of a direct replacement or do I need to make an adapter for the mount to accept standard radio antennas. Will such a set up work Michael Smegielski Waterbury, CT

Can someone tell me how hard it is to replace the rear rotors on a 93 VR? I do have the repair manual. Also, where can I get replacement rotors other than from Yamaha? Can you trust used ones on ebay?

I have a 1990 VR with 96K miles on it. Been a GREAT bke! Recently had the stator go out. During my research here for threads on replacement ideas I came upon a discussion about replacing the R/R whenever you replace the stator. From reading these posts I concluded I should also replace the R/R. Just for good insurance if for no other reason. Question: Is there any way I can get in on the group buy deal for one of those Shindengen FHO12AA regulator / rectifiers ? Does any one have an extra one they would part with ? I can find them else where but you guys worked the best deal I can find. GREAT job ! Thanks for the help. Red Baron -
Hi Guys, Does anyone know of a nice replacement radio for the old unit. Mine is not working in my 84. I just can't see spending all the time and money to try to chase down, repair and or replace this old system with more old parts. Doesn't anyone make a nice motorcyle sterio system with an intercom that can be retrofit into the bike????? Thanks for any ideas John

Yesterday while contemplating my 1st Gen to do list I realized that it was about time to do a another tear down. The todo list as it stands now: Fork seal replacement............Again Front tire replacement..........Again Probably rear tire too Avon Venoms this time Might as well replace brake pads..........Again Body part replacement customization and repair....Again Change up the paint Job............Again Intake O-ring seal leak 2 cylinders Re-synch Carbs New Diaphrams on sliders Valve clearence pad check & replace (really dreading this one but RandyR said he would help) Replaceing rear crash bars and trailer hitch with new ones new mufflers Accent lighting rewire. So, I was reiterating the list to a buddy over a happy hour drink yesterday when he offered for me to come get his 2nd Gen Midnight Venture and ride it while my bike was down. Now that's a friend for you.

Has anyone ordered a seat cover from B and H Specialties (http://www.motorcycleseatcovers.com/index.htm). Their prices are good but just wondering if anyone has experience with them and if so are you happy with the replacement cover. The seat on my 85 venture has the stickies and I want to get it replaced. A local guy wants $400.00 to recover the seat and backrest. B and H Specialties would be about $176.00 for both. What are your thoughts?

Is there any way of knowing what RSV engines could be used for replacement, say, on an ’03 RSV. When it gets time I would like to give my “ride” a new lease on life. I like this machine. Yamaha and parts suppliers aren’t much help. Their position: responsibility rest with you for knowing your needs.

I have an 06 venture and someone decided they needed the top of my CB antenna more than I did. Replacement in Canada from dealer is $230.00. Does anyone have any reasonably priced alternatives?

I know this is a long shot, but I figured it would be worth a try. I am in the process of getting my rear tire replaced and like the bonehead I am, I managed to forget to order some ride-on for the replacement. Kicker is, I'll be departing for a 6k mile [work] trip *snickers* bright and early Monday morning so I won't get it in time if I order it now. So. My question is if YOU are within 300 miles of Lubbock (or would be willing to meet with me within some distance of that therein) and have 8oz of ride-on you'd be willing to sell me (or give and I'll have a replacement sent to your place) let me know. I would really appreciate it! -

I would like to change the color of the dash light (speedo, etc) to a blue light. Anyone have an idea if this is a reasonable effort? I think that it would look nice. I also want to find out if it's possible to find the correct replacement bulb in blue, before beginning such a project. Has anyone seen this light changed-out before or does anyone know what specific bulb I want to use for this? Thanks! Pete.

A while ago I had lost my push to talk button off of the trunk. I found one at a junkyard and all was well. Well, it seemes to have flown off somewhere and I need a replacement, so, if anyone here happens to have one laying around.........
