1. We are getting our big winter weather storm here in Atl.............white Cristhmas, now this and its only January. Pictures tomorrow..........:depressed:
2. We had a great time today at the NC New Years Meet & Eat! It was so good to see everyone there! What a way to start the New Years!!! Happy New Year, everyone! Here are the pictures! http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic/2011/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%2020110101%20NC%20New%20Years%20Day/
3. Has anyone tried this light set up and have pictures? http://www.chromeworld.com/ProductDetails/ProductDetails.aspx?pid={157a816a-bf18-4300-99d6-868b479189b8}&gid={b150df75-276d-498a-b805-0be7925aadef}&GroupName=Yamaha+Royal+Star+Venture+Lights&pname=Kuryakyn+Constellation+Driving+Light+Bar&Referer=&Alias=&ptct=SGR-SR&CTitle=&
4. Is it just my PC or is everyone having the same issue. When I click on a thumbnail picture it used to open up a mini window that "floated" above the post I was watching and I could navigate to the next pic. Now it seems the only way I can open a picture is by doubleclicking on it and it opens one at a time in a new window. The pictures are larger that way...but much slower to see them all! any suggestions on what might have happened?
5. I'm considering adding a sidecar to my 2004 RSV so my son can ride with us. Does anyone have experience with sidecars and a 2nd gen RSV. If someone has pictures that would be great. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.
6. This may seem mickey mouse, but I sure like how it works. I purchased two items at a dollar store that had plastic "hooks" attached, as shown in the pictures. As you can see, I hung the hooks on the existing helmet holders on my 88VR. While they obviously don't lock, they sure make it easier to hang my helmets there.
7. Well I did it. I went and bought another Royal Star. I found a 1968 BSA 500 Royal Star.It should be a fun restoration and not too long or hard.I' post the pictures asap I get the camera going.
8. I am looking at a 1st Gen Venture Royale, 1990 model, but it is out of state and I have been communicating with the owner. Everything was looking good until he mentioned the air compressor was disconnected (or not working) and some small cracks in the fairing, but offered to take some pictures of it. Well, the cracks don't look small to me and they don't look like an easy fix. I talked with a M/C mechanic who does alot of VR work and he felt, without seeing the pictures, that being plastic versus fiberglass, the only way to really fix it and look good, would be to find replacement parts. The mechanic I talked with had seen the bike and rebuilt the carbs and other items, but the owner didn't want to pay for the other items to be fixed. So, the mechanic doesn't know the cause of the compressor problem, and therefore can't estimate the repair. I am attaching the pictures, I hope. Can anyone tell me what would need to be done to fix the fairing or compressor? If nothing reasonable is available, I may have to walk away from this one. Thanks for any input!
9. Our Granddaughter MaryAlice was with us this Halloween weekend. So of course we took her trick or treating. Thought I'd share a couple of pictures of her. How about showing your little Trick or Treaters!
10. We had a great time today at Blackjack's North GA Monthly M&E! The weather was perfect! We met Sling and Peggy for breakfast in Augusta and then rode to the museum. Blackjack brought in his group and then we toured the museum! Really neat cars! Even a couple of scoots there! A trip to DQ was in order afterwards and then Sling and Peggy and Sleeperhawk and I went home via country roads. What a ride and even saw another Venture! Here is the link to the pictures! http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic/2010/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20Microcar%2020101009/ Thank you, Blackjack (and all of you), for putting this together!
11. Well...sort of. These guys do some frequent flight testing just a mile from where I live, so today, when I heard that familiar 'thrrrrumping' sound, I grabbed my camera and handheld radio and rode out to the airport to take some pictures and video. The pictures and video were recorded on my new iPhone4. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjRBXXuaR7s]YouTube - Raw footage of V-22 Osprey at Hale County Airport[/ame]
12. My wife and I went over the Beartooth Pass Laborday weekend. It was closed the Thursday before because of snow but beautiful on Saturday. I've attached a few pictures in case someone is wondering if they should go to Cody next year. Very pretty area.
13. For those of you who didn't see my first post. I bought an 83 first gen about a month ago for about 1000 dollars. While the bike ran it needed some TLC and thus the low price. After re-connecting all the wires going to the various sensors and fixing the problems that set off all the warnings the previous owners didn't want to bother with I was finally able to move on to the plastic. The pictures I'll be posting will show the before paint and after paint but not before the repair work was done. (Mostly because I forgot to take pictures of the all the damage before I started.) I got it all put back together about a week ago, (after about 3 weeks of having it torn apart) and today was able to take it on a local ride (Ride for the Fallen (soldiers)) that was 120miles long. The ride was great and there were over 200 bikes that participated. The only hiccup was a storm that decided to rain on us for a min (and if you were lucky like me and Utadventure hail on us too) but it was only for a few min and then everything cleared up. So in the end I'm thinking of getting a licence plate that says 'Stark' or some such to go with the paint scheme (even though that wasn't what I had in mind when I picked out the colors.) http://s739.photobucket.com/albums/xx33/shtrdthrd/Iron%20Man%20Paint%20Job/ Edit: Not sure why the link doesn't go to the paint album. Just click on the album "Iron Man Paint Job"
14. Well I would like to let everyone know that Troy Savoie of TS Custom Leather has begun work on my leather order. Thanks to you my many many many friends Troy has been working on my leathers. I have never heard anything bad about Troy's work. On the contrary I have heard nothing but good about his work and that is why I contacted him to do this job. As you know one or two ah s^&ts will wipe out a hundred at a boys and I think that is what happened here with Troy. Here are a few pictures of part of my leather order. I will post more as I get the leather parts. It will take a while since Troy has lost his house. Troy has to be out by the end of the month. He has found another place to live. So Troy will not be able to work on my things until he relocates. As you know it takes a while to get evicted and I guess people that are faced with that take desperate measures and I guess I got caught up in that part of Troy's life. Troy has changed my opinion of him for at least now. With his financial troubles and being evicted he has started on my order thanks to all of you who put pressure on him, thanks again. This says something to me that maybe he isn't a crook or a thief but just a desperate man. I have great communication with Troy now and he has taken the blame for his situation. Here are the pictures of his work so far. 16. Today and tomorrow is the National Capital Stage of the Ride for Dad. http://www.ridefordadanniversary.org/en/RideOverview.asp I was hoping to take part in both days but it looks like tomorrow will be the only day I can. If you can spare even $5 it would be appreciated and would help me meet my goal. you can donate via credit card. http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=923981 If I meet can my goal and do ride with them, I'll take pictures and post them. If not, they will be riding right past my home so I'll take pictures as they go by.
17. Here is a link to over 50 pictures of my RSV 47 close up I took today. http://s148.photobucket.com/albums/s37/VictoriaVett/Yamaha%20Royal%20Star%20Venture/?start=all Get it out in the Classified. Thanks
18. Folks...I'm working on some shirt designs just for fun. These pictures aren't very good but what do you think of the general concept?
19. A couple weeks back the neighbour who is a Used Equipment Manager at a Chev Dealer came home with a SS Camero. Had to take a look and he comes out and throws the keys to me and says take it for a ride. Was not saying no. Naugh-T and I took off for a little ride while he had supper. Sure is a nice looking car. When I got in I had to lower the seat to the lowest point and even then I was touching the roof and when I put the seat back to a comforatble spot there is NO room in the back seat. Never took the Traction control off but was able to hit a few times and man that thing goes and it stays straight. Anyway 30 minutes of fun and a few pictures was worth it. Brad
20. I have one mounted on the right side where the stock horn was but I always wanted to put one in the fairing as well. Is there a good tutorial and pictures on how to do this and still keep my existing stebel on the right? Thanks
21. Peggy and I are just back from a five-day vacation in Townsend, Tn. Went up just to ride the mountains for a few days. Had some very heavy rain for two days but the sun did come out eventually for the afternoon hours and we got in plenty of riding. We rode through Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Lots of tourists even midweek. It is beautiful beyond words there, even in bad weather and the pictures do not do it justice. Had some slight issues with the trailer that had to be resolved. Fortunately, it fits through the door so it spent several nights in the hotel room with us!! Rode home today through the park to Cherokee and lots of back roads most of the way. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
22. I am looking for anyone with a metal chin cowling, willing to take a few detailed pictures of it for me. I am doing some metal fabrication at work, and I thought it would be great to fabricate one for my bike, which is a '84. I thought I could fit a MKII cowling, but was told I have to change the engine guards. I have access to some Stainless Steel sheet metal and thought it shouldn't be too hard to fab one up. If you could you send me a PM with the pictures and some rough measurements that would be great. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!!
23. I have visers on my running lights but not my headlight. Would like to add to headlight and signals. can anyone tell me if you can but a viser on headlight without removing the fairing. P.S. thank You to all who have put on pictures of M D day in Oberlin. looked like fun, hope I can make it next year.
24. dose anyone have instruction to install a markland hitch on a 84 vr with picture's if possibly? Thanks Bill:322:
