I need everyones' help here. I had to alter my left passenger bracket when the sidecar was fitted (had to be altered and raised for frame) now the sidecar is off ready for the trike conversion the floorboard will go back to original position and I need a bracket now. The dealers here will make me take the whole unit of board and bracket for over $AU400. So pleeease, has someone got one out in the garage, or knows how I might get just the left-hand passenger bracket???? :confused24: (2007RSV) Any help would be appreciated _____________________________________________________________________ never ride faster than your guardian angel:2133: -
Utopia Driver Backrest

Hey Guys, Will a Utopia backrest for a RSV not work on a RSTD? I just assumed that since they both have the same frame design and basic seat fitment, that they mounted the same. However in looking at their installation information, it appears that the backrest attaches to the bottom of the passenger seat. I think I may have advised someone wrongly, so I need some info fast. I bought a pair of the Diamond R swinging pegs for my passenger. To install, the rear floorboard bolt needs to be removed. The left side one was very tight, but it came out. The right side one is beyond tight. I was using the bike toolkit since I wanted to install them at lunch and surprise her after work. The L-shaped "allen wrench" didn't move it, so I used the tube to make a breaker bar. No joy. I don't want to damage the bolt, so I stopped. Is the bolt really that tight? Should I use penetrating oil? Ideas? Dave

This for those of you that have removed the passenger arm rest rubber pads, to access the rear speakers or what have you. What have you used to put them back? The double sided tape I have as well as the local parts stores are too thick! I was considering black adhesive silicone. Any suggestions!!!

I am sending Both my seats to Rick this week for the Mod on my 2K RSV.. But have read and read Nobody is saying how it has been feeling or working out for the passenger though.. Has any of your wifes said anything or what was the difference has been for them? I am Just sending both and not gunna tell my wife *lol* Thanks, Jeff

Would anybody have a used set of passenger Floor Board foot rest?. For a RSV 99 to present I need a set to cut up and to make a top secret Cougar Mod for longer extensions. Anyways, let me know if you might have a pair for sale or even better (Free) , I will pay the shipping. Thought maybe somebody might have added something different or might have removed them all together and might have a set laying around. Thanks! Jeff -
It has been a while since I have asked this Question. Has anybody come up with an Idea or do they make any kind of extension for the passenger for 99+RSV yet ? I am looking to remove my passenger floor boards as I don't see being 2 up any time soon (wife isn't into riding) and I was wondering if anyone has figured out a plug to cover the holes that would be left behind. I know there is a chrome piece to fit in place of the black cover that has chrome plugs but my RSTD is a midnight and I would like to leave the black cover and find some kind of plug in black. Any thoughts or ideas?

I've been toying with this idea for a couple years and thought if I aired out my idea here it would help me with a decision. I want 4 real pipes on my Midnight Venture.I want to take 4 small diameter fishtails with muffler and weld them in 2 pairs very close together side by side ....I figure a couple small straps under them to weld them parallel. Then locate and install bracket to attach to bike. Then similar to a old style Royal Star run seperate pipes to each muffler. But doing it to keep my passenger pegs in stock location will require a couple special shaped hook ups to original pipes coming out of the 4 cylinders. Mess up my passenger comfort would be bad for my sex life! I have a friend who had 4 fishtales on 1996 Royal that was so cool of a sound. Get that sound with our higher horse power motors gives me goose bumps! LOL I was looking at some of the old 650 V-Star shields that would work to cover new pipe sections and match Yamaha Chrome. I have them laying around but even if I had to buy some other Yamaha shields that shouldn't be too painful $$$$. I think it would look and sound great! Now lets hear it guys....what you think. JerryK

Got a hold of a chroming company called South Bay Chrome http://southbaychrome.com/ and received a quote Here's our pricing for the passenger floor boards: 1 set at a time: $40.00 ea piece x 2 = $80 10 -20 sets: $30 each x2 21-100 sets: $25.00 each x2 This obviously don't include shipping which would be needed both ways. I'm going to send in my set to see how they turn out and will get back with everyone. If they are indeed a quality finish, I will make arrangements with company on how to set everything up to do a quantity order. Hope this makes sense. All I know is if I can get a set of chromed floorboards for those anemic aluminum ones at 1/3rd to 1/5th the price, I'm in. God Bless. Mike

Interesting time-lapse vid of Vancouver's Coal Harbour area looking towards North Vancouver and showing the Pan Pacific Convention Centre. Bottom right shows a boat continuously coming and going from the same dock. That's the "water taxi". It's a passenger ferry (part of the transit system) that takes people from downtown Vancouver to North Vancouver.

while in a semi dream state, this afternoon, i had a great idea. i;m gonna try to take my passenger floorboards, and re-manufacture parts of them to make "hi-way floor-pegs". i have seen "markland" boards, mounted on the crash bars, and i THINK, i can make passenger boards work the same way. it ain't like i'm EVER going to have a passenger, on purpose! lol has ANYONE ever done this, or seen it done? just jt

Anyone know of a decent cover for the back of the somewhat polished aluminum passenger floor board. It looks so dull, ecspecially after the chrome backing plate I installed and the chrome stick ons on the side covers. The new OEM chrome passenger floor boards are $230.00, I really do not want to spend that much money:mo money:. Maybe there is a chrome cover for the underside of the floor board that wouldn't be so pricey. Does anyone own a cover that could give some info, and if so please give pics? Has anyone tried these passenger highway foot boards? http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?model_ID=42&Category_ID=6&manufacturer_ID=167&product_ID=3515 I just ordered a set for my RSV in hopes of solving the problem they mention, "Eliminate the whine from your passenger seat". They won't ship until the 18th of August so I won't know how good they are until then. I was just curious to know if anyone else has tried these.

on passenger cup holder mounts. I'm sure this has been gone over many times, but I can't seem to find any threads. The only place I can find to mount a cup holder is on the passenger hand rails. Gary's using the trick on the gas tank cover, but I need one myself. My brother had given us one that I put on from Cabella's but the first time I used it, away she went. I also had purchased a leather one that I liked, but it hung down to low and now I have a rub mark on the top of my side bag. I need one that sits up high enough that I can still get my side cover open. Any suggestions?

RSV 2002 but with 2007 seats. My problem is I am too short and cannot see over or around my husband. Does anyone have any ideas to raise the passenger seat? Most of the advise I get is ride my own. I have been a passenger for over 30 years and just got my license this year. My little Honda 250 is just a get around. Maybe next year I will get my big bike. In the mean time, any ideas for raising the seat? This is my first post, so hope put it in the right forum!!! jj

I got a set of IMC motorcom HS-G15's headsets and I am not able the the driver from the passenger helmet. One speaker, from the passenger connection, is not getting sound either. I think the when the passenger speaks, it is supposed to cancel something, I dunno. I have new J&M cables from the tuner installed as well. What am I missing? Remember the 85's do not have a passenger controller. I have replaced the radio and cassette player on this but not the tuner or anything else.
