I am getting ready to get new tires for my RSTD. On my RoadStar, I have had 4 sets of Venom X, 1 Venom R, 2 Metz 880, and the stock tires. I found that I like the venoms more than any other tire for the heavy cruiser. I am looking at the 2 available for the RSTD one is rated "H" and the other rated "V". The H has a heavier load capacity. Do any of you Venom X owners have an opinion as to which tire would be longer lasting & why? Thanks

Did I read somewhere that the 2ndGens have a cigarette lighter power plug??? Or was I halucinating again..... I didn't see any reference to one in the owners manual.... but I'm pretty sure I've run across posts about it... Never mind I found it..... Sorry for the dry run...

I see ads all the time where there are a lot of Harleys for sale. My curiosity wants to know why. This will apply to PREVIOUS HARLEY OWNERS ONLY!! I don't want second hand info either. I don't want to know about the guy down the street or someone's brother-in-law who may have owned one. I think it would be interesting as to why people give up their Harleys. Is it because of money problems, the bike itself, service, maybe it was because of a death in the family, or whatever else? So, if you have previously owned a Harley and given it up for something else, tell us why. Personally, I've never owned one so this does not apply to me. We all have opinions, but to hear from the actual previous owners is the purpose of this survey. Above all else, THIS IS NOT ANOTHER HARLEY BASHING SESSION!!!!!!! If it turns to that , I'll ask Freebird to take it down!!!

When I bought my Venture (used, 1 year old) it didn't come with an owners manual. I've been stewing over it since. Well, I finally found an original owners manual on Ebay for $39 delivered. Probably paid too much but I didn't check and don't care, I have one now - I'm sure the guy had more if anybody needs one. Let me know and I'll look up the link

Dan i have my local dealer ask me about your mod and says he has a lot of vmax owners asking about starter clutch upgrades. would it be ok to give him your contact info for these vmax owners. i didn't want to give the info until i asked you about it. And i will pm you when i get my flywheel off. -

I have been searching everywhere that I can find for this Owners Manual for over a year now with no luck. I have downloaded the PDF for the '83 manual which is a help, but would like the correct manual for my '88 Venture. If anyone still has an Owners Manual for an '88 Venture and would be willing to part with it for a short while, I would be willing to scan it, create a PDF, post the PDF here for all to use, and I will pay the shipping of your manual both ways. Picked up a 1999 RSV about a month ago and have been slowly learning about it. I am considering either the Stage 1 Exhaust Mod or the Bub Sleepers and was wondering if anyone in the Dallas area has either that I could hear first hand. Also, it would be nice to meet other RSV owners in the area.

I have a coworker that owns a 98 Goldwing. I was telling him about how I got the shop manual for my Venture from here in .pdf form. He isn't Internet savy, so I told him I would check the net for one for his bike. Before I search the Web, do any of you Goldwing owners already have the .pdf Shop Manual for a 98 Goldwing? craigr

I just returned from a 3 day out of state trip. About 50 mile from home I needed to use the bathroom real bad. I am driving the back roads into a town the has 3 building...one a convenence store/gas station. When I pull in ( I am in my car) there are 2 BMWs getting gas. After I finish my bathroom break I walk out and talk to the owners. One was a red 2004 RT1150. We starting talking and it was my old RT I purchased new and sold 2 years ago. He was 250 miles from home and I was 50 miles. Isn't it a small world after all........... Cb

Hello. I have been reading the threads for awhile now and registered today. I am an owner of a 2006 Ultra, love the bike. I will say no more on that. I was considering a new one but a number of reasons have me considering other choices like keeping the Ultra and getting a second bike. I am aware of the insurance etc on two bikes. Not looking for any info other than directly related to the RSV. I have not had a big interest in the RSV but find it is growing on me. The bike is very well liked by the owners. In addition to that I feel like the RSV is a bargain to be had as all I have been looking at are months on the floor and dusty. A near by dealership had a new Voyager for months and 4 Wings and an RSV. All for many months. I went in the other day and two Wings and the Voyager were gone. The RSV still sits there and I have never even seen any one looking at it. It is the sand color and another near by shop has the red. I believe one is the S model. Combine all that with a 5 yr warranty and my interest is sparked more. I had had Yamaha 550 and a 750 in the 70's. Great quality then and now. I would like input pro and con on the 2009 RSV. I realize the bike has changed little and this will be a biased group of owners. I have seen a few complain about heat, huh, can not be as bad as a Harley. I hae seen many complaints on the whine. Any thing else? Thank you very much for the time and objective discussion in advance.

Hi. I'm a proud owner of a new 09 RSV. Just bought it Friday. The owners manual has an obvious miss print. It say's the low setting is 0 psi, Mid is 0 psi and high is 7 psi. After taking the wife for a ride today, I know I need to bump the pressure up some what. The owners manual is no help and I found nothing in a search. Can someone please give the the minimum and maximum pressure for the rear shock. TIA MIKE

I finally made a deal on a 09 venture raven and red, man she is purty too.. 2 questions 1) Is this a 2nd generation or 3rd. 2) Is there a repair manual on line, I have the owners manual.. Oh yea I'm one happy camper tonight...Might sleep on it...LOL Thanks Scary

Probably an old thread but for a part that requires frequent replacement (owners manual) This is incredible. I have spent over an hour and am only more frustrated. I can see it ,I can barely get two fingers on the top and wiggle it bit --what ever is holding the boot (which I can't see, won't budge and I am afraid to muscle it. There was another black rubber clip above it which O removed from a bright metal clip but that did not help and now I can't get a hold of that to put it back on. All three access panels are off// fuel pump is unbolted and slack -battery is out What the heck gives-- I have not removed the coolant contanier yet--and am now looking for a cutting torch. This is nuts especially since all wrenching to get to it was so easy. I only have the (just enough info to get ya in trouble) owners manual. The doctor has told me the stitches in my hand can come out in 6 weeks but the bump on my forehead from hitting my head against the wall may take longer. What am I doing wrong? A friend of mine has a 03 Goldwing and his wife wants to buy him some chrome , a luggage rack, and a spoiler with the led lights. I have been given the job to find these items and I need the help of the Goldwing owners , I know there are a few in here. I would like to find the best place and best price to get them. Thanks Craig

Greetings all, I purchased a 1984 Venture a couple of weeks ago. I found this site to do some research on this bike as I knew very little about it. Thanks for the help! I lhad to trailer it from Sioux Falls, SD to my home in Madison, SD (50 miles) as it is WAY too cold to ride in March. My question is, does anyone of you knowledgable peole have an idea where I can get an owner's manual. The guy I bought my bike from did not have one. He did give me a service manual. Does the owner's manual have any info in it that the service manual does not? Looking forward to riding when it warms up. Dave
