  1. Lately I can believe some of the stuff sellers are listing on Ebay. Dirty, rusted, looks like they drug the bike out of Freebird's pond, and they expect a venture rider to bid on it??? It's happening more and more. Are they that hard up... or dumb??? I'da tossed it in the dumpster. EXAMPLE
  2. OK, I'm gonna have to do some pad replacing this winter. The thieves at the local stealership want $86 for a set of pads. I found these on Ebay for under half the price. Has anyone had any experience with these pads or this seller? Thanks!
  3. Here is a nice one on Ebay................ 260337152534

Hope this will help someone in the future. Tom
  5. Ran into these two listings on Ebay for a couple of polo shirts with the gold '83 logo. I suspect that they came from Shirt's'n'Things as I already have a T with the same logo. Anyway I went ahead and bid $.99 on each item, but if anyone on the board would like one or both go ahead and have at it. It won't break my heart. I have a ton of T's. One polo is an XXXL and the other is an XLG. The seller states that he sold his VR a year ago, and may very well be a member here???? 270313196410 270313210259
  6. Hi all, anyone got a Yamaha XVZ1200 Venture brochure scanned on the computer? There's a guy on eBay selling them, but he's asking £45 for 1, MADhttp://www.yamahaventureclub.co.uk/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif. Take a look on eBay at item number:- 370120994371
  7. Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I though t someone might like the deal, not sure if the price is good or not. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350131807220&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem=

    30% Discount!

Fellow riders: Microsoft wants to get people to use their "Live" search (competition for Google). So they are offering what is called "Cash Back". Here's the deal 1. You must have a Ebay account 2. You must have a Paypal account 3. You must go to http://search.live.com/cashback and get a chashback account. Then: (These are important) 1. Go to http://www.live.com/ and search for whatever product you want. If it is a qualified product you will see the "Cash Back" logo. 2. Click on the product and it will take you to the Ebay listing (DO NOT go to the Ebay listing without using LIVE or it won't work. 3. Buy your product the normal way paying through Paypal. You will notice the "Cash Back". 4. You will be charged the full amount - and in 30-60 days you will get your "Cash Back" deposited into your Paypal account. This is so that people do not return the product and they get ripped off. So far I have $251.99 - that I have saved..... Please keep in mind - I have no stake in this - I just use it. Make sure you read the terms and conditions and they are something you can live with... Have fun! Shep
  9. Are all voltage regulators for first Gens interchangable ??? I have an 84 and can get a 86 on Ebay. Tia JB
  10. i bought a nice wheel balancer on ebay this morning. any one looking for one cheap they have several kinds to choose from. mine was buy now for $95.95, and 15.00 shipping. after much pondering i think it was the most bang for the buck. figuring my time and materials i could'nt build one any cheaper. check them out on ebay. just punch in motorcycle tire balancers, on ebay. a real bargain and looks like good quality. bill
  11. Our son rides a 2002 YZF R6. Blue in color. For Christmas he would like a part for his bike that sounds like it's a cover for the riders seat made out of fiberglass. He thought ebay would have them. I tried looking up YZF accessories, but am confused. I don't know if it would be called a cowling or exactly what I'm looking for on ebay. He said it doesn't have to be blue, because he's a graphic designer and can "wrap" it to match the color of his bike. Does anybody know what I'm talking about?

    06 RSV on eBay

Hey folks - guess what I found?? Search eBay for Item # 130268795530 That is my old bike, that was written off by the insurance company. Interesting how the seller claims that "it can likely be repaired for a few hundred" when the insurance company told me it was $14K to repair it! I guess I got my "drop quotient" all factored incorrectly too ... looks like when we went down in Minden, it was only a "minor drop"!!! LOL Cheers,
  13. Met with the adjuster today (Progressive) after Saturdays lay down and we reached a settlement. He told me all he deals with is bikes, boats and RV's and once he started researching parts for Ventures was amazed at the prices. He told me he has never seen prices that high even dealing with Harley's. The Damage was all cosmetic but once the repair estimate got over $8000 he totalled the bike and I bought it back for salvage value. Been shopping ebay for a few items but I'm now looking for a right side outer and inner cowling if anyone happens to have one in good shape.
  14. Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that the wind deflectors I posted a few weeks ago are up on ebay. The owner put them on at $17.99 buy it now, I dont know why he just didnt start them at that price before. Any way its a good deal if anyone is looking. Here is one of the item numbers 150309459852 Paul
  15. Anyone tried the 9003/H4 HID kits that are all over Ebay for cars? Instead of burning a 55W bulb you're burning a 35W HID lamp that gives you a lot more light with a 20W savings. I also wonder if the computer will freak out or would you have to remove the Reserved lighting unit and other wiring and simply wire it to the handlebar switch and call it done. any ideas? a single Ebay kit would upgrade 2 bikes. You can also get bike specific types that have a HIGH/LOW beam.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BI-XENON-HID-CONVERSION-KIT-H4-3-For-Motorcycle-Bike_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1713Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ36476QQihZ020QQitemZ300260708063QQtcZphoto for example.
  16. I tell you folks, I have done quite a few transactions on Ebay and for the most part, they have been very positive experiences. This last one has been a real pain though. I list an item a couple of weeks ago. Everything goes well and the winning bid was $114.00. Two days later I get a message from the buyer that she will be unable to complete the purchase because she had to take her dog to the vet and now doesn't have the money. Folks, if your money is THAT tight, you shouldn't be bidding on non-essential items on Ebay. So, I filed a non-paying bidder complaint against her with Ebay and then relisted the item. I send a second chance offer to the next bidder and he declined. I don't really blame him. I'm not usually interested in second chance offers either because they are often either bogus or else I suspect that the seller had used a friend to run up the bid in the first place. So after relisting the item, it sold again. Not for $114.00 though but this time...for $34.50. Oh well....things happen. But WAIT...I then notice that this time the winning bidder is in Mexico. I sometimes will ship internationally but for this item, was not interested in doing so and had clearing listed it as shipping ONLY to the USA. I contacted the buyer to let him know that I would not ship to Mexico. He finally decided that he would have it shipped to a friends house in Laredo, TX. I agreed to that. So...it was then 6 days before he finally paid via PayPal. This is a fairly large item and though not heavy, I knew shipping would be a bit high due to the size. I had specifed shipping as USPS First Class Mail for $27.50. I then got an email from the buyer, AFTER he had paid, instructing me to send it Priority mail because he was in a hurry for it. OK...if he was in such a hurry, why did he wait 6 days to pay? I emailed him back and told him that I had quoted $27.50 for First Class Mail and if I could ship it Priority for that price, I would but otherwise it would come First Class. That was shortly before I left for the post office and hadn't heard back from him yet. At the post office I found that First Class was going to cost $22.50 and Priority would be $34.50. I decided to try and please this guy and I shipped it Priority. So right now, I'm $7.00 in the hole on shipping. I charged nothing for packing and supplies. I just sent the guy another email and told him that per his request, I shipped it Priority and to please PayPal me an additional $7.00. What do you think the odds are that I'll ever see it? I'm guess not very good. No big deal, I can certainly live with it and am just glad that this particular transaction is over with. OH...and here is a summary of one of our email exchanges last Sunday: Me: Please understand that I am going out of town on Monday. If I do not receive payment before then, I will not be able to ship until I return. If you pay today or early tomorrow morning, I'll get it shipped before I leave. Otherwise, I will be away in which case I will not be able to ship until Friday or Saturday. Him: I plan to pay in a day or two. And no, I do not need the case.
  17. Hi All, A friend of a friend is selling his 2001 XVS1100 VSTAR (see pics below) for $2500.00. It has A Harley Headlight and Running Lights, Hard Saddle Bags, Cobra Exhausts, and rear Air Suspension with onboard compressor. It has 6100 miles on it. It is a bit loud for my tastes but Ebay has stock pipes cheap. If anyone knows anything about these bikes, PLEASE let me know, I know very little about the big twins. Thanks for your help, Earl
  18. Anyone shipped to the United Kingdom ? Any problems? Had a few ebay requests but I have never shipped other than U.S. and Canada
  19. Hi folks, Just wanted let everyone know in case someone out there has been looking for a good deal on some of these. I'm knew to this, in case you hadn't already figured that out! Anyway I'm selling a set of Baron's 4-2-4 Nasty Boys that I just took of my '05 RSV that I bought about two months ago. The ad just posted on EBay today if you're interested, under motorcycle parts and accessories.
  20. Looks like Brad finally got his due and made Ebay. Squidley Mounts
  21. Hi there. Saw this unique and beautiful Royal Star Tour Deluxe 1997 on eBay. Sadly, my BOSS is keeping an eye on our bank account. Getting a little to chilly to sleep in the garage. Really like the custom vintage color scheme on this one. What do you guys think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1997-Yamaha-Royal-Star-Tour-Deluxe_W0QQitemZ270278618310QQihZ017QQcategoryZ50045QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  22. Is it just me or is the Ebay listings messed up? Use to after I looked at the initial items and it says IE,View other 492 items For Venture,(Or whatever) it use to give just Venture Motorcycle stuff, now its watches,shoes,Pens..Is it just me?
  23. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260288717633 Saw these on eBay. I have some but MAW says they are dealer only items now. Might turn out to be a good deal for someone here.
  24. The 87 is again on ebay and if she stays in the garage... get your parts lists ready...the chop shop will be open. The markland hitch will be listed sometime this week along with a like new brown saddle, backrest pad, a collector I bought from Hess I never installed, etc. I had planned on a RSV but the Vulcan Voyager has my intrest being a ex-05 Nomad owner, but it is hard to beat the smooth ride and power of the Yamaha engine. Regards Dave
  25. is it just me or....... do items that you are interested in skyrocket in price, to an unreasonable place??? and when you set a limit for a part, you always lose it.......AND LO-AND-BEHOLD......the EXACT item re-appears on ebay, with the same scratch, same tablecoth back drop.... time and time again??? I think the used parts dealers have their employees bid up the prices under fakes aliases and hold US ransom for the parts, then "pad" their stats with......fast service COLLUSION I think so...... its big business..... and we are the losers.........if only ALL the venture owners would agree on what is reasonable to pay for every part on a bike, and no-one bid higher than that....... sooner, than later the prices would plummit. THERE I FEEL BETTER JOHN:draming:
