Maybe I should see a shrink. Had been following this bike on eBay item number: 190214574057 and made a bid. Was the highest one at auction end but reserve not met. The owner offered me a second chance through eBay and I took it for a "Buy It Now". A lot of shrink hours in that sum. Maybe it is just better to loose control from time to time and spend it on Royal Stars. Don´t know but maybe there is some hypnotizing effect in that Camellia Green color. I bid on a charger for my cell phone on Ebay... lost the other one and I'm to lazy to go into hunt mode.... So the seller has the thing listed for .99¢ with a $5.95 shipping charge, and.... he's in California. I'm high bid when it closes at .99¢...was there ever any doubt... , and the guy uses some sort of 'non-paypal' payment system for credit card sales, and I go to it, and do the dance. One problem. The system is charging me sales tax on the shipping. That's a no-no in Cal. So I write the seller several messages, using the Ebay system, requesting a revised invoice showing the corrected total with tax on just the .99¢ Never hear a word back from the guy. I try calling him at the phone number I get from Ebay. No answer. So I say screw it and don't pay. About 3 weeks later I get a notice from Ebay saying that the .... at this time.... 'Jerk' has filed a non-pay complaint against me. I respond and file a dispute. A couple of weeks later I get a chastizing notice from Ebay saying I've got a 'strike' against me. I wrote them back and basically say if they support a seller that is doing something illegal, then I have no other alternative but to think Ebay condones illegal activities. About two hours later I get a response that they have deleted the 'strike'. Some of you may say .60¢, what the heck, but it was more than the pricipal. The seller has done over 52,000 Ebay transactions. At .60+ extra per in state transaction, he's pocketing just a few bucks..... BTW I know where he lives and I'm sending Guido to talk to him.....

Don't know if there's a way around it but since Ebay has redone their security I don't think we are going to be able to tell if we are bidding against one another on an item. Don added that field but then ebay now blanks out the middle of the bidders name. So no hard feelings if you get outbid by someone here. Don did try.

A out of state scam artist operating in his home town decided to go big time. He purchased or stole about 20+ chainsaws all of the same make and model and sold them on Ebay. When I purchased mine his feedback rating was excellent over 98% and he had sold these saws for about 1 month. I read the other buyers feedback reviews and they were all happy with their saws still new in the box but expressed a slow 2-3 week delivery delay. The individual was selling about 10-15 saws every weekend and receiving payment via paypal. About 10 days after I purchased my saw and still waiting for that email and tracking number from the seller something went very wrong. I noticed the sellers feedback rating was dropping and negative reviews were pouring in over no communication and no saws received.Within two days I filed a complaint with Ebay as my communications attempts went unanswered.Within 3 days Ebay settle up my financial losses and shut down the sellers account. The policed dept handling the investigation has apprehended the individual awaiting trial. Apparently he sold his shipment of saws about three times. Ebay treated me more then fairly and I bought a better saw then the one I never received.:cool10::cool10:I have been doing business on Ebay many years and will continue to do so.One of my biggest issues is the seller claimed to be a Christian business.

ebay scammer; Sunrise Beach, MO, E- bay listing I went to see this scoot, IMHO it was junk with a nice paint job. I would'nt have given him what he claimed to have paid for it. I was gone all day. but since we went so far we had to make our own little adventure. It was still a good day! I wanted to get this out there because he mentioned having a call from an interested party from Canada, so If that's one of our members, let it alone! I'll give details, in the PM. While looking thru ebay tonite I came across a MM RSV and after looking at the pictures, I thought I knew the bike, so I emailed the owner and asked him if he had been to one of the Vogel rallies and he replied that he had. To make a long story short, he has broken up with his girlfriend and is getting out of motorcylcing for a while, and thus it appears on Ebay. It still bears the scars from the lay down he had with it, but they are not that bad really. Ebay gave me back a redemption coupon worth $$ more then my loses on that first chainsaw deal. So I bought another new saw sunday and got it fedx today. I got more saw for the money. Thanks Ebay I was expecting a full refund but got 30% more then I paid off my next purchase.:cool10:

Back on 3/4 I picked up a 1srtGen dash panel from a guy on Ebay. VTCustoms/Anthony Alfieri . The dash was discribed as in 'good condition with 14K on the Odo. Here's a copy of an email I sent to the seller after it arrived. The email bounced, and it's the same address that shows in the paypal details for the transaction. Tony, Just wanted to let you know the dash panal arrived OK, however it wasn't anywhere near your discription of 'good condition' that one would have suspected from a bike with only 14K miles on the ODO. One of the mounting posts on back of the shell was broken off and missing and should have been very easily noticed when you removed it from the bike. Probably damaged in the accident. Lots of rust on the electrical connections. Someone was also inside the housing, as a large piece of speedo back light plastic was broken off, and there's no way that broken piece could have gotten out. There was also electricians tape and caulk/sealer in a couple of places on the inside. Bottom line is the dash was not in any condition to be of use as a complete unit. So.... disappointed? Yes, but I'll go ahead and keep the dash and chalk it up to experience. I've owned and worked on over 5 Ventures, and will just rendeer the dash down into parts for the shelf, and toss the broken and rusted stuff. I suggest in the future you be a bit more up front with your discriptions and with the pictures you take. So, I'd suggest that if any member of this board is considering bidding on an auction by VTCustoms to be very carefull. I'm going to resend this email via Ebay and see if it goes through. I've bought a lot of stuff off Ebay and this is the first time I haven't received what I expected...... Just an addition. I fianlly did get a response from the seller via my Ebay message board with his apologies and an offer to return for a refund, but by then I had already taken it apart and bagged it. His email address is still not functioning.

Is anyone else having a problem when they click on the Ebay link at the bottom of the home page? It doesn't take me where it use to. I end up on a link that has a lot of stuff not for motorcycles and not for ventures. Not the same.

Does any one have a list of salvage yards or used parts venders or ebay stores? I've got my Venture home and have started removing the cracked plastic , left side only damage. I found the side cover on ebay and have already bought it. I'm bidding on the headlight ring and small vent in the front but I haven't found the upper left side fairing. If anyone has one or knows who might have one please let me know. I can probably repair what I have but would rather replace it if I can. thanks

a trunk rack that fits an 86-93 1stGen. The rack that the trunk and passenger rails mount to. Anyone have one laying around in halfway decent condition. Took some early Christmas $ and got some Leather overpants off ebay. Got to try them out today and really like them. They are made just like jeans with pockets. They have zippers all the way to the hip like chaps and the snaps at the bottom. They are lined with the nylon mesh. They were warm and provided more warmth in particular areas:whistling:better than chaps. Figure this summer I can wear shorts under them too. If anybody is interested in the ebay seller send me a PM. I got a buyer for my 86 VR, full price [$4400] if I hold it until spring [no problem] eBay Item # 110201753639. Almost the same ad as in our classifieds here. He wants proof that i have this scoot in my possession. He is a few states away & auction ends in 2 days. I have 100% (23) rating since Dec 02 with eBay, but he is wise to be cautious. How do i prove this by email or phone? Any Ideas?
