  1. My favorite bookmarks on this subject. http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Oils1.html http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Consumables.html
  2. [quote name=Good thing if you you have to have a new ignition switch installed, you can cut one side for the bags and then the other for the switch. This way you still carry/use one key. MIKE aka Uturn [/quote] Can I do this to the key for my RSTD and how do you what side to cut?
  3. Try this link. http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/RBC:RCd0Jo71A8YAAFW4V7I/cgi-bin/carloan/gas.pl Or Google Royal Bank fuel mileage calculator.
  4. I got 50 mpg on a trip from Nova Scotia to Huntsville Ontario and back. Two up and both saddlebags loaded and a tailbag. I stuck to the speed limit. I generally get 43 mpg "around town".
  5. I have always done my oil changes. I was installing my very first Purolator Pure One PL14610 and it won't go on. It will spin about two threads deep then stops. I spun the old filter back on, just to be sure, and it spins on and off no problem. The Pure One stops and I'm afraid of stripping the threads. Any comments?
  6. Name of Restaurant Capitol Lounge and Grill Street Address 333 Main Street City Middleton State or Province NS Website (Optional) www.capitollounge.ca Quality of Food Fantastic Quality of Service Great Biker Friendly? (Parking, Trusted Location, Etc.) Yes Kind of Food? (Mexican, Chinese, etc.) Pub, Fish and Chips and more. Alcohol Served? Yes Additional Comments The food is awesome. The new owners have installed 12 new draught taps too. It is located on the corner of Main and Commercial Streets in Middleton. If you are traveling west on Hiway #1 you'll go right past it. The fish and chips are the bomb, they use fresh six ounce haddock fillets. The two piece is a gut buster.
  7. I bought a Nelson Rigg bag that is waterproof. Lots of room and it works. We drove through an Atlantic Coast downpour and my wife was dry as bone because she was hiding behind me and the bag kept the spray off of her. All our kit was bone dry as well.
  8. Diamond R and I didn't have to cut the seat for the post. It fits around the seat.
  9. I put my ME880 Marathons on in Aug 05 and have 22,000 kilometres on them, that's around 13,600 miles. I have always run them at 41PSI, kinda the in between one up and two up tire pressures. We do alot of two up driving. There is lots of rear tread left I plan on changing the tire next spring if I take a big road trip.
  10. I got mine from www.leatherconnexion.com.
  11. I just won this today for $167.50 USD. Can't wait to get it on the bike.
  12. Last May in Nova Scotia, five people were killed when a woman crossed the double yellow on a two lane highway. Two oncoming motorcycles crashed into the passenger side of the car killing the driver's daughter who was in the passenger seat. The other four deaths were the people on the two bikes. The driver has admitted to crossing the line and got a $279 fine. The son of the driver on the lead bike is suing. Makes you head spin in more ways than one. http://halifax.metronews.ca/index.cfm?sid=32805&sc=89
  13. I'm not too sure but I'm thinking a 2002 or so. It seems to me even the newer ones have the same shape.
  14. Like this? I got it off EBay awhile ago it's from the VStar 1100. Works like a charm too. I bought a Nelson Rigg TBag and didn't lose a thing, knock on wood.
