  1. I want one when I get to old to ride. Check it out. Cooooooooooooool.
  2. Well I am off to pick up my new bike, its about 30f hoping it warms up alittle, I have a feeling the temps arent going to matter much on that 100 mile ride home. Really anxious to ride the 06 never rode a 2nd gen, never dropped the 1st gen, hope to keep that streak going on the new one:whistling: I will give my first impressions after the trip. Craig
  3. There is a Test Ride Event on Sunday March 16th, starts at 10:00AM. Address is 6051 North Washington Blvd (301) in Sarasota, its just a bit South of University. They have pretty much all of their line there. Just sign a waiver, bring a helemt and show your motorcycle endorsement. You then pick the model you want to ride and go. They take you on a 7 mile loop, never got up to highway cruising speed though. I went on 4 rides in a row today, as long as a bike is available they will let you ride.
  4. Well......I am waiting to sell the Vulcan 750! Dealer has the2008 RSTD in the box waiting for it all to happen! Anything special I would need to know about the RSTD? Anyone in or near King George, Virginia wanting to ride?

    Anyone for a boat ride?

I am going to visit the North Carolina Outer Banks this coming June. As time gets closer I will make reservations and plan to board the Ferry on June 1, 2008 at O630 hours. Any and all are welcome to join me, but it is limited to about twenty bikes due to ferry schedules and time, and keeping the group together. Reservations for the Ferry Trip have to be made at least 30 days in advance so this is why I am putting this up a little early...so any who might be wondering have time to know about it at least. See the attached Word document for more info.....the photos are of a result of my installing Ride-On in my tires this morning.....the instructions told me to take the bike for a short ride to distribute the substance in the tires....I just expanded the short ride to 261 miles.....this is what spring time looks like in the Carolina's.
  6. I took the day off tommorow:cool10: and it is spposed to be in the mid 70's:thumbsup2:. I was planning on riding to Williamsburg or Fredericksburg tommorow. Anyone interested in riding along or meeting up to ride for a little while?
  7. Snuck up on me this year, but as many of you may know, March 8 - 16, is Canadian-American Days here in the Myrtle Beach area. If any of you are down for the event or coming for part of it, Welcome!! As always--lots of stuff going on. Killer car show, shag dance competition and if you absolutely have to there's always....golf. Later in the year (~June 2), Hard Rock Theme Park has the Grand Opening with the Eagles. (soft-limited opening in April) http://www.hardrockpark.com/index3.php is the site if you want to poke around. I have nothing whatsoever to do with the place or anything, but it should be sonething special. And NO, I will not ride Led Zeppelin..15 stories, 65 mph...6 loops...No sir, I don't think so....even if it is set to "Whole Lotta Love"! Spring Bike Week May 9-18 I gotta leave now, I'm starting to sound like a darn commercial.
  8. Greg Darling is a friend that I met a few years ago. He followed me into a restaurant and asked "Was that you that just rode up on a Venture?" I replied "That depends on why you want to know!" That was the beginning of a friendship. He had just bought a 92 and we sat and talked Ventures, I turned him on to this site and we began to ride together. Later he moved it to his house in Florida and bought an 83 to keep here in Roswell. On this site he went by GOYO, and although he didn't post, he did check in periodically. He has been battling cancer for some time and, after going through treatments last year, was in remission and doing well; getting both his strength and hair back. I called him a few weeks ago and he was in the hospital. He told me the cancer was back with a vengeance and he said he had a lot of family there, but would call me in a few days. I talked to him a little over a week ago and asked how he was doing. He said "Not too well, I am in hospice now and don't have very long. But I've had a good life and am happy with it." I told him that I expect him to ride over my shoulder and he agreed. I didn't get a chance to see Greg before he passed on Sunday (3-2-08). I am very sorry for that but after talking to his mother-in-law today, he was not really aware of much for the last week. Greg is survived by his wife Valerie and 2 young children. There is to be a memorial service on the Tuesday after Easter which is the 25th. I'm not sure where it will be held but it will be in the N Atlanta area and I intend to ride to it if at all possible. As the time draws near I will post the time and place for any that care to join me on the way to or at the service. Don, I will try to get you info and a picture for the Memorial Page. You will be missed, Greg. Ride with God.
  9. Does anybody have any experience with (accidentaly) putting E-85 in their tank?I ride an 89 VR,and up here in Frozen Northern Minnesota there's a state mandate coming to have all gas with 20 percent ethanol by 2012.May or may not still have the ol' 89 by then, who knows, but if I dont I'll still be riding something,Lord willing. But my question is about what will this ethanol do to our old bikes? Are we gonna be SOL?Or are we all gonna have to move south,so we can ride year around? Snowing and 15 degrees here right now,so that doesnt sound too bad!
  10. In Newnan, Ga, so looks like I wont be making the Ga Meet & Eat...........Sorry guys, was looking forward to it, but I gonna stay in where its nice and warm and DRY. Arm Rests

I'm looking for Passenger seat arm rests for my 2008 Royal Star Venture. Any help would be appreciated. They don't have to be cheapest or anything, just something good. Have a nice ride and keep an eye on tire pressures!

  13. Anyone in the South cental Kentucky area? I've often wandered if there is anyone in this area and two separate events have occured that makes me ask. First, I often read the Jokes and Humor threads posted on this site and share with others some of the better ones,(keep them coming folks) when in my local paper there was some of the jokes verbatum in the editorial section. Second, I had a conversation with a lady at one of my customers, about 15 minutes from the house, on her poster of a "Star" customized bike and lo and behold she and her husband love to ride but doesn't know anyone in the area and would like to meet people to ride. Problem solved for her! Anyway, just was wandering if there is folks close by.
  14. Thanks to all the guys my daughter and I had a fantastic day. She came back home ready for the next adventure. We covered 210 miles with 168 of it on the ride. I hope I got the bucket link correct. Great weather and company. We are getting ready for the next run on the 29th of March. Julia says the old guy on the big green machine has to make it if he can. Photobucket link to ride pictures ---- http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/hh269/lonestarmedic/ Lonestar Medic Pink Dragonfly (Tom-you know how she picked this handle!!!)

    time for wires

Hey everyone new to the Venture's, site and really motorcycles altogether. I've had smaller bikes like shadows ext., but never anything this big and now I don't ride anything but this bike. I still have two Vtwins but this is the bike I ride. Anyway, I think I have about 18,000 miles on my 06 RSV and it seems to run ok but I had a used 99 RSV before this (my first and the start of a new love) anyway that bike seemed to have a lot more power maybe it was just me. This 06 is bone stock other than chrome. Is it time to change the wires, how often and how many miles? ALso, on my 99 I cut the D in the air box and put hot plugs, wires, K&N and cleaned the Carbs like crazy. And that bike just seemed to be a horse compaired to this one. So should I do the cut out, K&N ext. the dealer said it's not worth it? :bobby:Thanks Scott
  17. Just received this link by email today... http://www.geocities.com/bestridecanada/
  18. Went to take the bike to work today and it wouldn't start,, battery seemed weak. This is the second time it has happend.. Bike is just a year old last week and completely stock. First time it had sat unused for a month, and when I went to start it the radio had been turned off so I was not 100% sure I had turned the key all the way off. I charged the battery and it was fine for a few weeks. On the 13th I did a 150 mile ride and put it back in the garage, hadn't had a chance to ride since (but that is only 11 days) and today it wouldn't start. The key was definitely off. I will get to it tomorrow and check the fluid level, connections and voltage, charge it, and check the voltage running, to make sure it is charging OK. Anything else to look for?
  19. I just heard that Boyd Coddington has past away. One last ride Boyd
  20. We went out with about 1200 other riders on a ride 02-23-08 called the BORDELLO RUN. http://www.pahrumpvalleytimes.com/2008/Feb-15-Fri-2008/news/19751622.html We mist a couple runs in January and there will be one every Saturday from now on if we choose to go. It was about a 200 miler with stops at 3 famous bordello's in Pahrump,NV. We had a blast and met some pretty good people. Many different brands of bikes, but still a lot of HD's. Talked to a guy on a 07 VENTURE and told him of the site and gave him the Addy and saw him pitch the paper in the trash.(kinda irritated me) but to each there own. The only other thing that irritated us was their was only 500 patches to the first 500 and no pins and one color of T-shirt (red Long sleeve) but the ride was great and the steak dinner was good and we got to see the world famous Chicken Ranch and they have daily specials. The riding is why we moved to the warmer climate and with temps in the 70's this week we have no regrets..........................Ron
  21. I was in the right place at the right time. Bought a 1995 Harley Softail Heritage Classic with 15,000 miles on it. Bike is like brand new. Don't know what I will do with it yet since I already have one, but I will figure something out. Maybe trade it for ABS on my RSTD!!!!!! http://by144w.bay144.mail.live.com/att/GetAttachment.aspx?tnail=0&messageId=8b92e4b4-8cfc-489d-95da-c1bec7cbb204&Aux=4|0|8C9E4971F09DCC0| Might be for sale one day, got to ride it first.
  22. Route posted in the Meet and Eat section. Point of Interest open for suggestion. Hope to see y'all there. Estimate about 5-6 hour ride depending on stops etc. As a side note, the Luckenbach Independence day Celebration is on Saturday. JB
  23. I was sitting here watching an old movie tonight. I don't even know the name of it. Goldie Hawn is coaching a high school football team in the ghetto. A lady friend gave here a ride home on her motorcycle...not sure of the year but I THINK it was an '85 Venture. Pretty cool. Never saw a lot of them in the movies.
  24. It's with a very heavy heart that I let you all know of the passing of a great friend and brother. Many of you who are PGR members may know the name "Deltoid" GA Ride Captain. Mike Bland was one of the finest people I've ever met and one of the few I would consider a true friend. He lived with no compromise. A Marine to the end Mike died of a brain tumor Friday night without a wimper. Through months of deteriorating health he never complained and continued to make people around him laugh and feel good about themselves. I will really miss him. I bought Mike a Venture Guardian Bell last Christmas in the hopes that there would be a miracle and Mike would ride again. He has an '07 Midnight Venture and was a member here even though I don't think he ever posted. He liked to read a lot of the tech stuff. Mike was cremated Saturday and we will have a memorial service later this week. the Guardian Bell will be attached to his urn and protect him on his final ride. I wish you all could have known him. He would have fit in perfectly with the great group of people I have met here. Thanks for the friendship and the miles Mike. I will miss you.
  25. Did Not Take Too Many Pics But Here Are A Few. Cold But A Great Ride And Even Better Bbq.
