1. So, I think I found a Second Gen in my price range about 350 miles away. Called the current owner, agreed on a price, and now I need to get the bike back. My wife and I will probably drive down the night before in her blazer. If the weather is greater than 32F and sunny I will probably ride the bike back. If there is rain, sleet, or snow I am going to rent an open uhaul trailer and tow the thing back. Can anyone post pictures of how they tied their bikes down to a trailer? Do I need anything besides standard ratchet/cinch straps? I know, trailers belong behind the bike not under it, but I just want to get the thing home in one piece without getting frostbite.
2. Someone, please go buy this thing so i don't waste a weekend driving all the way to FL and towing this thing home. Please, I would really rather find a good deal local. wow, seriously, that's a great price. 1200 miles doesn't seem so far right now, and my wife would probably enjoy a few hours in the FL sun... http://www.cycletrader.com/find/listing/2003-YAMAHA-ROYAL-STAR-VENTURE-94299519
3. Hey people, as some of you know, I just purchased an '09 Venture. The dealer offered me a 20% discount on accessories so I went a little overboard on the items I wanted to dress up my ride. Thing is, when the quote came in, with installation included, the actual installation price was almost the same as the accessory price (eg. Trunk rack cost: $180. Installation: $135!!!). What I'd like to know is if there's various posts that explain installation techniques such as installing passing lamps, trunk wings, braided lines etc. I mean, step by step instructions to simplify my own installation. I dressed up my Silverado on my own but I'm not an expert, just a back yard type mechanic and any help would be appreciated. As usual, thanks in advance for all your help!........... Bluez

6. I can't get this to load into the classified so hopefully this will do.... Santa brought us an enclosed cargo trailer for all our toys so now I need to sell the 2002 BAXLEY GT2000. Without a doubt the easiest loading and most stable pulling open motorcycle hauler ever made !!! I just don't have a need for it any longer... This trailer has all the options Baxley offers except the tool box and chrome wheels... New price is $5140. Selling this one for $3000. Always kept under cover when not used (which was maybe a total of 7000 miles. Here's the Baxley web site check it out !!!: http://www.baxleycompanies.com/ Here's a couple pictures: http://www.ridersrally.com/gallery/data/500/4772Double_Hauler_2.jpg http://www.ridersrally.com/gallery/data/500/4772Double_Hauler.jpg

8. I am looking at 2 headsets the J&M H58154 of/ff and the IMC HSG35u/HSG15. Both inexpensive headsets. One for 3/4 and one for full face helmet. I do limited 2-up but its nice to have when I do. They are both about the same price so was wondering if any one has an opinion either way on which to get. Thanks. Bill

Camper

Not exactly the right area, but I thought it would get more exposure in the watering hole. If anyone is looking for a great camper there is one on ebay right now with a real good buy it now price. Here's the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Aspen-Classic-Motorcycle-Camper-Trailer_W0QQitemZ330299175793QQihZ014QQcategoryZ80768QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
10. OK, I'm gonna have to do some pad replacing this winter. The thieves at the local stealership want $86 for a set of pads. I found these on Ebay for under half the price. Has anyone had any experience with these pads or this seller? Thanks!
11. Trying to price parts on 86 VR, any advice appreciated. My thoughts on it here, feel free to punch holes in my theory. I truly don't know what to price these parts at, first time I have ever parted one out. I might be wrong and if I am I'd welcome some constructive criticisim. My thought is that since most of these parts are no longer available as OEM that the parts that are mint or near mint (my coin collecting vernacular coming out) should be worth at a minnimum half of what retail prices were when they were available. Some of the plastic parts, the ones that are most likely the rarest in top condition should by demand bring a higher price than what retail used to be. Based on those thoughts I think I should ask somewhere in the vicinity of 50% of retail for mint/near mint and adjust percentage down from there based on condition issues. Also this not being how I put bread on the table and having bought used parts myself and getting burnt occasionally I will gaurantee any mechanical or electrical parts to function and function properly, unless stated by me that function of the part is unknown and being sold as/is, money back gaurantee after part is returned minus shipping cost if any. If I would have realized how tough this would be I would have done more research before I started. I mistakenly thought I could ask folks to offer a fair price and for the most part they would. I could get more at the scrap yard than some offered as fair. There have been a couple of fair offers not all are bad. Thanks, Bull
12. Hey was wondering if anyone knew a price for the chrome rotar covers with the light on it and the price on the chrome part that goes over the brake cylinder behind the the rotars on the handlebars. Both are ventureline parts from 1st gen. I know they are hard to get. Thx, Meatloaf:banana:

15. Just found a very economical multimeter with tachometer that some of you may be interested in for work on your bikes - it's from Harbor Freight, item 95670, and the price through 12/26/08 is $24.99 (normally $34.99). Here is a link to the item for more info, but the price is in the current retail flyer. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=95670 Goose
16. Has anyone on here ever had a set of wheels powdercoated? if so are there any problems that I need to be aware of? Wheel weights and such? Don't know if I will have this done, any ideas about the price?
17. does anyone have any gently used chrome rear floorboards taking up space in there garage they would like to part with? i dont want to pay the dealer price for them yet. oh yeah for the 2nd Gen rsv ( i think the blue and black is faster than the faded blue) hehehehehehe
18. Just Want to Bump Classifield For My Strat. Great Condition. 6000 Mils as today. Great Ride. Lowered price Was $9990 Now $8900. Coldn't Beat That. Send Me a PM or Call 773-719-2927 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/1312/cat/9/date/1216684059
19. I had one of these on my old '96 Royal Star and was very pleased with the performance. Now, I'm thinking about putting one on my '07 venture. Baron's in having a holiday sale right now for their retail, E-Mail customers - 25% off their in-stock items. Their regular price is $289 for their Dyna units, so that would be a pretty good price. Plus, I like dealing with them. They are a good vendor! But, times are tight and I gotta watch those Christmas funds, so I'm looking for the best price I can find. Does anyone have any suggestions for a better price? I need the model D3K7-5. Thanks guys & Merry Christmas! Pete.
20. The Kawasaki Voyager price is now posted on their web site. $16,899 - $17,459. Its sounding better and better. I will see it in person in Feb, in Chicago at the show. I really think the one at the shows is not the final version, but we'll see.
21. Not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I though t someone might like the deal, not sure if the price is good or not. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350131807220&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3ASS%3AUS%3A1123&viewitem=
22. I have a question for anybody that has bought a 2009 Venture. As I understand it the 2009 price includes the CD player, but they have to order it and install it, ( at no charge ). If you don't want it will they reduce the price? The only way to really know is ask after a firm deal has been made.
23. Just wanted to pass this along to the group...I have used these folks a couple of times and they have one of the best discount accessories available on the web... I would expect this Yamaha Price Increase to apply to ALL Dealers...Not just these folks...I know its a lot, but here it is....Just in case you want something before February 209... Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving.... George In Virginia Dear valued customer, we here at South Seattle Sports Plaza are faced with a dilemma that has us torn between some directions in which we need to move to further provide you with all your motor-sports needs, first question is, do we drop our current discount to between 15 and 20 percent like all the other dealers, giving that extra profit to Google and Yahoo to stay in the top positions of their search pages? Or do we keep our discount at 27 percent and cut our expenses on search engines and hope our customers keep spreading the word to receive the volume of business we need to support that high of a discount. On Yamaha’s last price update Oct 1st, they not only did a major price increase but they also dropped the dealers’ profit margins on thousands of items. One example is the new Star custom wheel kits. The front wheel for a Road Star, part number 5C7-f54E0-V0-00, retail is 1449.95 and dealer cost is 1087.50. Our price is 1087.46 on our website. This is like many other accessories items that have 25% or fewer profit margins and we loose money. But that’s the bad news. In these times things have increasingly slowed and we are in need your business and that of your friends now and in the future. So for the good news we are going to leave the 25% discount on accessories where it is and has been for the last couple years and increase the parts discount to 30%. We will keep these prices till February and then change the parts discount to 25% and the accessories discount to 22%. I would also like to add that right now our Star inventory is well stocked and we have a lot of items that Yamaha even has on backorder. Also when ordering parts if you see something that says backorder we still might be able to get it out of Japan or even have it in stock. If you order a backorder item and it will be awhile before available, we will contact you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. Thank You, Dan McVeigh yamahasportsplaza.com ysppart.com allyamaha.com onlyyamaha.com

25. There are always two models of the RSV what accounts for the $600 dollar price difference. Other than paint I don't see that big of difference.
