  1. Pgunn and Predock, I wave to you and even put you up for the night and feed you if you get out my way. I don't worry about who is friendly and who is not. I think that today it is just people being cautious. ride safe
  2. I have an extra Life Saver brake valve for the back brake if you need one. I never installed it and sold the bike before I got around to it.
  3. Don, I will take two. Thanks again. Orrin Paypal sent, shortly.
  4. Hey! I resent you talking about old. I'm 61 and still going. What does your daughter who is 1`3 think I am, "a fossil?"
  5. Just heard from Martin (atwell-fireman). He is safely in his hotel in Louisville, KY His but is a little tired, but that is to be expected. He plans on being home tomorrow night. Bike is running great, he says.
  6. Martin, Linda, and I left Merrimac at 7:30 this morning. We took him down WI 69 thru New Glarus and thru Freeport, IL. Then East on 20 to 39 south. We left him at IL 64 junction with I39. Everything was going well at that time. He is going to call me tonight, when he gets settled. He was going around Indy and then thru Cinncinnati, and then down along the Ohio river. Just an up date. Heard from Dan in Indy and he had not heard from him either. He is a good rider and knows what he is doing.
  7. Bill, Saturday is good for me too. But till August. See you then. Orrin

  9. A man who has become a friend purchased my RSTD. His name is Martin and he lives by Charlotte, NC. He is flying in this coming Saturday night to pick up the bike and ride it back to his home. He is a professional firefighter in Charlotte and all around good guy. I met him a few weeks ago when he was checking out a new fire engine for his department. He will be staying at my house Sat. night and we will be leaving with him on Sunday morning. Linda and I will ride about 200 miles with him and would like to arrange some riding company for him the rest of the way. We have not planned a route for him yet, but would like to get it done in 2 days, so I would imagine there will be a fair amount of interstate. The route will be from Merrimac, WI to Charlotte, NC Martin has also joined our group, but I don't know his user name, yet. Thanks
  10. I think most of you know how I feel about helmets and protective gear. I always wear it. I don't have a problem with the government telling us we have to wear a helmet. The government tells us we can't drive drunk, too. It is not just the cost to the rider, but also his family, friends, and amount we spend on his health care if he or she is not killed. Please think about it. Motorcycles leave us awfully exposed, so why not use all of the protection you can get. Just my 2 cents.
  11. Hane not seen him, but would like to.
  12. Nick, welcome! I enjoyed your articles and read several of them. You touch on many of the things that attract many of us to motorcycles. I certainly enjoy Harleys, road sofas, customs, but not rude bikers. It does not make any difference if they are on a super sport bike or a GW, just don't care for them. The group I ride with has everthing imaginable on 2 wheels and will probably have some 3 wheelers shortly, if we are lucky enough to keep on aging. Thanks for your insight, "and keep on wriding, I mean righting".
  13. While visiting my daughter and her husband in Minneapolis and staying over night at thier house, she went into labor at 6 am this morning. So Linda and I got to take care of Alex and this afternoon he has a baby brother. All are doing well. By the way we had a great ride up there and back.
  14. Congrats on the new GW trike. I am sure you will love it. Keep on biking
  15. Jay, you are right in the heart of it all. Ride up and down the river, head over to New Diggings,http://www.motorcycleroads.us/wi.html#sc,http://www.wisconsinmotorcycling.com/ Lot's more. You can also call me and are welocome to rider over by me. Linda and I could show you around. Ph is in my profile.
  16. JT, I will be thinking about the both of you. My best to Jeannie. I truly hope things go weel and she get better real soon.

    Sold my RSTD

Bill, I would l;ike that. You are not that far away. Let's make some plans and maybe include anyone else that will put up with us.
  18. A real nice guy from Charlotte NC bought my 05 RSTD. He is a fireman and he and his wife talked it over and decided the bike was for him. I am very happy that it is going to a good home. I told him about this site and sure hope that he joins us. I am going to miss the RSTD. I am working on the GW trying to make it as comfortable as the Tour Deluxe. I hope I am still welcome here.
  19. I am very sorry to hear about Brad and Paul. Please watch for deer. I have been seeing dead deer in places I have not seen them before. Ride safe all!
  20. Have a great time, ride safe!!!!!!!

    Accident

Phil, glad you are OK. Heal up soon.
  22. Congrats on the new bike. I think you will love it. There are threads here on all sorts of noises and quirks about this bike. Your dealer should take good care of you. If not do some searches and posts and the expeerts will be along.
  23. I have found that when I ride on the interstate in traffic I get way better fuel economy that at other times. I think this is due to the drafting effect you get from other cars and trucks. A lot less air to push.
  24. This is really hard for me to do. I have been agonizing over this for quite some time. I am selling the Tour Deluxe on E-Bay. I just don't have the room for 5 motorcycles. GF has a Wing, I have a Wing, GF has an 1100 Shadow Spirit, I have a Heritage Classic and a Tour Deluxe. I decided to keep the GoldWing. I am not going anywhere and am not bad mouthing anything or anyone. Most of you who have read my posts and replies know I have not done that. Too many truly wonderful people here, if that is possible. Who knows, might buy a Venture if I get tired of the GW, or waite to see what Mama Yama bring out for a "new" Venture. If any of you are interested in the bike please contact me via pm and we can work out the details. I have reserved the right to end the auction early as the bike is for sale locally.
  25. I wouldn't do it. I don't think you have the traction to stop a load that heavy. NOT SAFE!!!
