    Windshields

I was glad to hear John's reply, and thanks for sending him the link. I do like like my Clearview, but still have a few concerns about impact protection. Would be nice to see a FAIR comparison.
  2. Congradulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Major cause of pregnancy!!:rotf:
  4. I installled the handle bar mounted J&M CB on my 05 RSTD and have no problem with noise. Check to see what plugs you have. I am willing to bet that is the cause. Good luck.
  5. When using my new head set, I have noticed that I have sound only coming out of one side. I don't know if this is normal or not. Any comments would be appreciated. I have to look into it. Thanks in advance.
  6. Skid, good for you. But, becareful, we need more like you.
  7. Here are the pic's of what I have done so far. Also a pic of my new back rest cover. The back rest is embroidered in to the cover.

    Windshields

I went from a stock shield to a Clearview and now I do some concern about impact protection. I have not heard about anyone's shield shattering, but it is something I will look into.
  9. Brian, I had a Volusia and liked it a lot. You will like the Venture or RSTD even more. You won't have a problem, just use common sense. Ride it a few hundred miles before putting someone on the back and you will be confident. Congrats in advance.
  10. Jonas, great looking ride. Have fun. Let us know how you get it home.
  11. Just got done installing the J&M cb on my RSTD. Everything went well, but looming the wires took forever. Had to remove the fuel tank, seat and dash. Mounted the antenna on the back of the tour pack. Not quite done yet, but will take and post pictures later. This should take a feed from an am/fm radio. Now I need to look for one that is handle bar mounted.
  12. Jonas, that looks really great. Very creative and original on your part. I like the paint colors on you bike also. Ride safe
  13. Hey, way to go. I have an 05 RSTD and love the bike. If you have been hanging around for a few months then you know that the rear brake on these bikes is very touchy. It is easy to lock up. Please be in the habit of always using your front brake, especially in emergency stops. Post some pic's and your first name. Any questions, ask away. There are some real experts here.
  14. Don, no advice, just thanks for the effort.
  15. Bill, Linda and I are going to be down your way. Leaving May 10th and returning May 18th and 19th back to WI. On the way down we are going to be at Lake of the Ozarks, MO and Sunday night the 11th. I would be fun to meet you if schedules work out. Hope you BBQ goes well.
  16. This weekend, finally got the RSTD back on the road. Man, does it feel good to have her back. Ryan, from Paragon Customs did a great job. Check out his website some time. He is one of the truly good guys out there. http://www.paragoncustoms.com/home.html
  17. Hipshot, I think you are one the people I admire most from what you have said in the past. IMHO you did what you thought was right...keep doing that. I don't always agree with you, but respect your right so say and do what you need to. Stay safe and help out those in need.
  18. Doug. I have the standard height one on my RSTD. I did quite a bit of research befor ordering. I look through mine in normal riding, but can look over it by sitting tall in the saddle. Some of the reviews I read stated that some did not like the curve up at the top of the shield as it causes distortion. I really like mine and don't think you can go wrong.
  19. Don, you have put a lot of thought and experience into this site and it clearly shows. I didn,t know that feature about the flags...cool! Thanks again for all of you hard work.
  20. Took out the 95 Harley I just got, on Sunday the 30th. Went about 40 miles and blew the carbon out of it. First time back on a bike since I piled up back in October. A little nervous for the first 20 feet! (pics are in my gallery) I just saw the thread where Gary N. got back on a bike too. Hurray for Gary. I think it is great. My new Kilaminjaro jacket kept me plenty warm. Kids gave to me for Christmas. first time I got to wear it. I would go out on my RSTD, but still 2 very minor things to do, otherwise it is ready. Can't waite! Still cold and wet here in Madison, WI. We had lots of rain on Monday so that should wash some of the crud of the roads. I have to ride over to see Eagle Eye with my Morgan Carbtune and sync his bikes.
  21. I didn't check prices, but they do look like OEM. I like 'em on mine. The fix is to drill another hole to lower the mounting and then they line up better and look better. I have not done this mine but have been thinking about it. But, then, I think about a lot of things I don't get around to doing, and then I do things I don't think about.
  22. Jim, I just went to the Gel Tec web site. Thanks. Do you mind telling what size you are? I am wondeering if that will work for me. I feel like I am being pushed forward on the seat. I know that Rick Butler has been modifying some seats, too.
  23. Buckley, I put Kuryakin long horn highway pegs on mine. They mount to the crash bash and I don't think they would interfear with the vent wings.
  24. Curt, I have them on my 05 RSTD. When I went down last October they don't help a thing. They sure do look good though. I like 'em. That seams like a good price. They are easy to put on.
  25. Buddy, glad you are OK. Bike will fix up just fine. Hope you had insurance, and did you gt yourself check out by a doc? You never know.
