  1. As far as I'm concerned, they are welcome to make a full dress Strat for those who prefer V-twins. Just don't call it a Venture, because it's not. As others have pointed out, Yamaha has invested a lot in developing a new 1800 V-4, so at some point, depending on the economy, I have to believe there will be other bikes using this motor. It's clearly a perfect choice to go into a new Venture. So it may take a couple of years, (look at how long it was betwen first and second gen Ventures) but I think it will happen eventually. On the other hand, if Yamaha does build a V-twin Venture, then I'll look elsewhere for my next touring bike. That might be the push I need to switch to sport touring and look at the Concours 14, VFR 1200 or something from BMW.
  2. On my 2001 RSV the low fuel light comes on prior to having to switch to reserve tank and about the same time the odometer reading changes to the fuel count up. (or whatever that's called?)
  3. Darn! Oh well, those Smith gauges were too expensive anyway!
  4. Try this site: http://www.gaugeguys.com/Smiths/smithsindex.htm Click on "Classic Guages" to find the one from above. They're kinda pricey. Over $170 for the dual oil/water temp guage.
  5. Is Pirate Bay back up and running? (I haven't checked in a long while) I liked them because most of their music was complete albums instead of just individual songs. Course I'm pretty sure it doesn't qualify as legal.
  6. Me Like! Ponch, have you found a volt meter and tach that look good with this? Love the black face. And love your new design. I'm glad I've been waiting on doing this.
  7. I'll check with Kelly. You're not too far away. Maybe we'll come up for cheesecake after the tournament. That is, if there's any left by then!
  8. I took the plunge this week and bought a Wolo Chrome on ebay. Ad said used with minor scratches but seller deals almost exclusivley in horns and has good feedback, so I took a chance. Total cost shipped of just over $36. He still has some for sale - starting bid is $24.99. Here's one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AIR-HORN-WOLO-BAD-BOY-MODEL-519-CHROME-12-VOLT-/250624213524?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a5a5e0214 He also has the non-chrome starting at $19.99. Anybody here ever deal with this guy?
  9. Brad and Lonna, Is it too late to get you to change the date of your open house? But seriously, I have a golf tournament that day so Kelly and I won't be able to make it. Y'all try and have fun without us.
  10. I've often wondered this myself. I think from my experience, your name will just drop off their friends list. When you first send someone an invite, they are listed in your friend list with a notation that it is awaiting approval. I usually let the invite sit for several days hoping they will think I just haven't seen it yet. Then after some time has passed I click on ignore. I'm pretty sure they do not get an email or any other type of notification that you clicked "ignore."
  11. Allright, so why don't you list your favorite Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber songs?
  12. Agreed. All Dire Straights as well as Mark Knopflers solo stuff. Possible exception - I get real tired of hearing Money for Nothing. My vavorite of their CD's is actually one of their least successful - On Every Street. Love Heavy Fuel and the Windsheild/Bug song. (not sure of actual title)
  13. Arrrggg! How did I miss Cream and everything Clapton!
  14. gosh, this could go on for many pages. Here's a start: Stevie Ray Vaughn: Texas Flood Voodoo Chile and Little Wing (Hendrix songs) Pride and Joy Lenny Riviera Paradise Led Zeppelin: Stairway to Heaven (cliche, but still one of the greatest songs of all time) Pretty much everything else they ever recorded Lynyrd Skynyrd: Freebird Sweet Home Alabama Gimme Three steps That Smell ... and lots more Allman Brothers Band: Midnight Rider Ramblin Man Whipping Post Jimi Hendrix: All Along the Watchtower Voodoo Chile (slight return) Little Wing Hey Joe Purple Haze Wind Cries Mary Red House Joe Bonamassa: (if you don't know Joe B, and you like the above artists, you owe it to yourself to check him out - amazing blues rock guitarist) Burning Hell Lie No. 1 Your funeral, my trial Miss you Hate you If heartaches were nickels Pain and Sorrow River Mike Bloomfield: (another not too well know blues guitarist form the 70's) Killing Floor (a remake) Work Song Alberts Shuffle ... everything on the Essential Blues compilation CD Dream Theatre: (changing genres here - this is a progressive metal band - but very melodic. Think Yes or ELP crossed with Metallica) Pull me under Space-dye vest Lie Mirror Learning to Live Creep by Stone Temple Pilots Pieces & Crawling in the Dark by Hoobastank Tonight by Elton John OK, that's enough to now. Enjoy! Looking forward to seeing what others post here.
  15. I also think this is the most likely outcome. Give things some time to turn around and then come out with a Vmax based Venture. jmho.
  16. I'm curious about this "puffiness." Could you post a couple photos? I had been planning on sending mine to him until I read that he wasn't doing Corbins any more. Maybe he would reconsider if I assure him that I'm more interested in results than in cosmetics.
  17. Would love to throw a leg over the new VFR1200. I have a feeling if I had the bucks I would spring for one of those to add to the stable. But why is the Concours 14 on this list? Didn't it come out a couple years ago?
  18. I live in a suburban area. To get to lots of stores all I have to do is wind through my neighborhood residential streets for about a mile and a half, and then cross one major street. That being said, I always throw on my gloves, 99% my helmet, about 90% my leather or armored mesh jacket. But I won't always change clothes, so I might run a quick errand in shorts and running shoes. That probably doesn't make sense, but I assumed you wanted the facts. So I guess I'm not really an ATGATT guy. Sort of a MOTGMOTT guy. Oh, and if I'm in a hurry, I'll take the cage.
  19. For those on a budget, this looks big and roomy with some nice features including a rain cover. All for only $35! http://wingstuff.com/pgroup_detail/3_Featured_GL1500_Accessories_GL1500_Parts/20281_Deluxe_Luggage_Rack_Bag_w_Rain_Cover_SUPER_SALE/ Wish they would show a pic from the back and one with it open.
  20. ARRRGGG!!! I keep getting a mesage that their web site is down for maintenance.
  21. I like it. I too have a yellow and black mesh armored jacket that I wear in the summer. And my helmet is yellow and black. Both were bought to go with my other bike, a gold and black Midnight Maxim, but I'm not worried about whether they clash with my green RSV. Kids make fun of me, but like you, I don't care. If people (cagers) can see me better then mission accomplished!
  22. Um... that's kinda scary.
  23. Thanks for that info. How about posting a couple of pics when you get a chance?
  24. I don't think they are the same light. The R-mark one on ebay looks like it only has 11 bulbs and doesn't look like you could mount it on the trunk. The Rivco light appears to have 24 (smaller?) bulbs. I like it a lot better, and much cheaper too with the sale price.
  25. Thanks. I've not seen this particular light before. Its looks really nice, plus I like the idea of putting it up higher on top of the trunk.
