Nope, we don't need another Pic of a Harley .... :happy-emoticon:

If i would going to strap my Bike on the back of my Truck, i would look out for a Ramp of a Delivery Company nearby and ride the Bike up to their Ramp or lift it with a Scissor Lift they have eventually. The Ramp should be equal in Height or slightly higher than the Bed of the Truck. Then put a thick and long Piece of Wood inside the Bed which is at least as long as the Bikes contact Patch with the Bed. Now ride it into the Bed, strap it down and make your Way home. At home, i would seek another Company with a similar Setup to unload the Bike. If that's not gonna happen for one or another Reason, i wouldn't try to get the Bike on the Truck otherwise. The standard Cables for the Tailgate are not strong enough to hold on the Weight a Bike and the Leverage of the Weight. I doubt the steel Bumper of my '97 GMC Sierra would give me Peace enough to load a Venture. The Towing Ball would hold enough Force but it's very dangerous because of the Steepness.

Hi, i'm really sorry for your Concerns about your Wife. I hope that will go away soon. Regarding the Wire, now this is a sad Story. You can fix it yourself, but i'm very sorry to say that. AFAIK, the Wires on your Bike are molded into the Coil and if you want to stay with that, you might need a new Coil ... :missingtooth::fingers-crossed-emo btw .. good Joke, i smelled it but i got a good Laugh anyway.

Cold Engine / Exhaust

Shouldn't your 2005 be under Warranty until 2010 ? -
If the 1200 USD Claim on the Carbs is true, this would be a very good Ride. Anything else mechanically could be fixed easy at cheap Cost.

I second this .... YES, a social Group just for me myself and I ... anti-social misfit

So, since you 'know' it now, why don't you start some Efforts to reach that Age ??

I'm not sure about the Year of the VR, but i can confirm the 4-Brush Starter in the Vmax since 1996 AND this Starter Motor fits ALL 1Gens. Earl, you can't imagine how i would love to do that. How good that would be, sitting somewhere with a nice Glass of adult Beverage in the Hand and a Lot of BS'ing with the Guys and Gal's all Night. :happy34::happy34: :bluesbrother: There's no BIG Deal. Yamaha themself changed the Starter to a 4 Brush Setup because it's stronger and less Current on each Brush, hence less Wear on the Commutator. Maybe that's why the Parts Numbers are the same now, as Swifty elaborated. The second good News is, the stronger the Starter, the Less wear on the Starter Clutch.

Hey JT, i'd love to visit the US and of Course meeting some Members here as well as showing up on a Meeting, but to be honest, i don't think that gonna happen the next Year. I'm running my own Company and i lost an important Employee(my right Hand and Arm, so to speak) last Month and there is nobody here to replace him. A new Guy will have to be teached and trained and i need to built up some Confidence in him and his Ability to run the Company while my Wife and me are gone over the Pond. I'm not that confident on this happening very soon. There are not much good Men on the Market right now. With the Downfall of the Economy, this will change, but this needs Time to work out.

Swifty, you make me remember the "help Swifty" Thread a long Time ... :D NOOOOOOOOH, you shouldn't start to ship Things to the Netherlands, better to have them ship a Smoke or three to you. The Link was just to inform you that there are 2- and and 4-Brush Starters and they interchange. I don't know what you're talking about with all that Parts Numbers and i never checked them either, but i know what will fit you Bike. Either Starter will fit.

I'd say .. double check your Sources .... http://members.chello.nl/c.cornwall/Startmotor/startmotor.htm

And what is now your exact Question ?? If it's "Will the 4-Brush Vmax Starter Motor fit in my Venture ? " Then, the Answer is yes, unlimited.

From the Listing, it looks like just plain Air to me ...

I sincerly recommend downloading the Shop Manual here and read it, before tackling a Job, even when one is familiar with the Procedures. There are a Lot of small Hints in the Manuals which make Life easier. Also, it's no Fault to read what the Engineers suggests just to be on the safe Side. I admit that there are Errors in the Manual(like the wrong synchronizing Pattern) but most of them are very minor and if one is not sure, we can answer almost any Question.

Below the left rear Cylinder is small Rubber Piece, about 1 Inch in square, lift it and there's the Bleeder Valve.

I had similar happening here or on other Boards. When i typing longer Posts or even Mails, i routinely hit CTRL+"A" and CTRL+"C" every Two or Three Sentences. This copies the complete Text in the Input Field in the Clipboard and if something goes worng during the Submission of the Text, i can easily go back and hit CTRL+"V" and Paste the last Text back into the Input Field.

There are several HID Replacement Sets, in our Case BI-Xenon Set for H4 Bulbs on Ebay, Auto Stores, they go for cheap and not so cheap. I've done that both on my Max and the '93 VR. Here are some Member which have done that likewise. Actually a HID consumes less Juice than a H4 incandescent Bulb. 35 Watts for the Xenon, the H4 uses 55/60 Watts. But this should go into another Thread.

Thats easy to say but when the accident finally happens there isn't time to do every thing exactly right. It might be easy to look back after the accident and say if he had done this he would have been ok but when its happening to you there isn't much time to deal with the situation. Well, that's why some People practice Maneuvers before the Emergency Situation happens ...

Reverse Thread ????
Squeeze replied to Ga Dawg's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yes, on the right Master on any Yamaha, the Mirror Thread allways is a left-handed Thread. Just try to bolt that Screw down and you will losen it. -
So, why don't you install a HID-System in your Bike ?

I totally agree on both of you. Several Years ago, i had a Porsche 928, with little Snow on the Road the Car didn't brake at all, only Foot Massage from the System. I pulled the ABS-Fuse and got out of there with a Brake i can control. It was a very scary Experience. Had similar happend with a Audi 6 4WD with Tiptronic. You can actually drive up a Ski Jumping Hill at 100 mph, there's so much Traction, but don't try to drive downwards only a minor steep Road and want to brake, you WILL need new underwear. I took the Car broadside with the Hand Brake and babyied it to a Stop, took the ABS Fuse out and i was on my Way to the Dealer. They updated the Software to no avail, after a second Software Update, the ABS worked as it should. Due to severall other Mishaps, they lost my Business forever. A experienced and skilled Rider will outbrake any ABS-System on the Market. Honda is mounting the ABs now to the Supersportsbikes, i guess they will make up a better functioning System in 3 Years with all the Experience they gather over Time.

And it really helps a Lot to get rid of those Carb/Fuel Fumes when tinkering in the Shop ...:big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon:
