Sorry Goose, but i beg to differ. The Bearings should be cleaned and repacked in a regular Matter. Every 20 000 mls seem not wrong for me.

Here are the Service Manuals ... but i don't know about the Owner's Manuals. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3384

Just got home from 24h Shift with 5 Hours Break inbetween. I should go to Bed but i'm awake as i would come out of the Bed right now. You just can't sacrifice Jonas to the Pond Monster, it already took out the Gazebo, what do you think it would do with Jonas? :crackup:He's desperately needed at Home, working and paying Taxes to resolve the nearly Bankrupt of the Banks and nearly his whole Home Country have been pulled into. And i'd like to meet him one Time there, i dream about riding my 1Gen to Hanstholm, enter the Ferry and make the Round Trip from Seydisfjördur to Reykjavik and back to the Ferry two Weeks later. P.S. It no Question about PH #1 or #2 ... There are PH and PZ Profiles. The Angles between Shaft Diameter and Tip are different.

I'm sorry, Phillips Head didn't come to my Mind as i wrote my Comment. But why are you picking on me ? :stickpoke:Jonas is the one to blame !! He doubted the Knowledge about Torx Drive in US, I just said i have no Clue about it ... Question .... as your familar with those Phillips Heads, would they be a PZ or PH Profile ? We have them both here. I agree on a "350 Motor" is sounding much better than 5.7 Liter. At least for my Ears, but who am i ? Most Folks here have no Idea about cui Relations. Only those who like V8 Engines even can refer anything to it. In Regards to the metric/inches System. I like them both, espacially on my '97 GMC Truck with 396 Diesel. It's from Canada and most of the Interior is metric, km on the Speedo and Odo, bar for Oil Pressure, all Gauges except Temperature (F) ... but the Nuts and Bolts are Inch .... I just love to run out just for replacing one stripped Bolt. On the other Hand we use Withworth on Pipes and Tubes...

Messing with the carbs
Squeeze replied to CrazyHorse's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
This Jet(PAJ#2) is sitting behind the Diaphragm and the Size effects the Moving of the Slider. The smaller this Jet is, the faster the Slider will react to changes in the Vaccum. This will give you a faster Throttle Response and therefore it feels better and stronger. If you ride with a nervous Wrist, it can hurt your Mileage. -
AFAIK, 2009 VMAX isn't sold out in US. Maybe that's the Route to go ?

Mike, there are only two Diaphragms/Sliders listed. The '14940' indicates the same Parts, the first Three Digits are from the Model the Part first appeared. The Parts # 41R-14933-00-00 is the Spring itself. Only the describing Text is a bit misleading. But you're right, there's no Way deciding what Part you'll need to order, because nowhere is a Number to find. -

Now, another Thing would make Sense to me. There was Posting from a Member about 4 Weeks ago, in which he reported he couldn't fit the Spring into the new Diaphragm he purchased. I ever wondered about this, because i couldn't think about such a Thing. It recurred several Times in Mind. Now, with a "bigger" Diameter Spring and a smaller Diamter on the bottom of the Slider, the big Spring won't go into deep Place. Seems that Mystery is solved. -

Yes Mike, you got that right. I was mixing up the '83 Carbs with 'MKI Carbs. There ist the Difference in Lifter Hole Boring and Spring. Sorry for that Error. So , there are three different Springs over the Years ?? 83 is 26H-14933-00-00 SPRING, DIAPHRAGM 84 -85 is 41R-14933-00-00 86 -93 is 1FK-14933-00-00 SPRING, DIAPHRAGM (1Fk for Vmax) -

As Mike stated, the Emulsion Tubes are different between MKI and MKII. In Fact everything is different, what Mike listed above and the Springs aren't the same either. The MKI Springs are weaker to adjust the Difference in the Lifter Hole Boring. There may not be any Difference in the Emulsion Tube Boring. I don't know for sure on the MKI/MKII, but it's possible that the Tubes are formed like Jets inside to create a second Venturi Effect. I've seen such Emulsion Tubes at two or three Maxxes, but couldn't research it down to a specific Model, Year or anything else. All Bikes have been bought used, so nobody knows for sure where these came from. -
Probably you just need to mount the Airbox and it will fire up and idle as fine as the unsynchronized Carbs allow. Gravity feeding the Fuel should be fine up until 2500 RpM.

Aren't you afraid of building up a dangerous lean Condition ? It may be not that frightening on the lower End, but it seems you've never seen a Piston with Hole burned into it from running too lean ? Set everything on the lean Side, add more Spark Advance at an earlier Rpm Range, two tiny Holes in a Diaphragm for even less Fuel than needed and WOT for some Time and whalla, that's where the black Smoke started. You might know what you're doing, but recommending doing this to others is another Story. -
Probabaly it has to do with the Farmer's Chi. If he's more on the Ying-Side, he likes he Bales more squared away. If he more on the Yang Side he'd prefer the round Bales, because the Roundness shows the Circle of Life ?? :bluesbrother:

Jonas, good Point, i'd never thought of that. I just couldn't believe that the Torx Drive couldn't have made it's Way to US. Seriously, i don't know if Torx-Drive is known in US. We have them more and more at the MAN Trucks, on the VOLVO they were everywhere since 1988, even come with inverted Heads nowadays. I use them often, on my Bike to replace the stock Bolts. Drywall Jobs with a Power Driver actually gets funny with that Screws instead of using cross-slotted Screws.

I don't know if there is enough Space to work on the Bolts, but the best Way to remove stripped Bolts or in this Case Bolts without any Head for me is to drill the Head in a fairly large Diameter and drive a fitting Torx-Bit into the Hole. Worked for hundred of Times and didn't ruin the Torx Bit most of the Times.

and it ends with the Purchase of a 2nd Gen ? :crying: :whistling: :stirthepot:

stiff clutch lever
Squeeze replied to dynodon's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You'd better clean and grease the Brass Pivot Bolt in the Lever. The Piston's Tip sits inside the Brass and if it can't move freely in side the Lever, you will face more Trouble. -
Mini, just make sure there is enough Juice in both Cameras to cover the whole Story !! !!

Those Draggin Jeans are a good Product. Their from Australia and as i've spoken with their Top Rep here in Germany last Year in November, they had some Hassles with the US Rep, but if you like riding in Jeans, this is the Way to go. The Problems should be solved by now.

HID upgrade kits for 1st gen?
Squeeze replied to timgray's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I've done that on my Max, the Venture has yet to be upgraded, no Time for that. I used a Bi-Xenon Bulb and i just love it on my Max. Best Safety Upgrade i've done, with Exception of upgraded Brakes. -
Formula1 - 30 Minutes to the Start of the last Race this Season
Squeeze replied to Squeeze's topic in Watering Hole
Well, i can assure, i somewhat close to Guys who work for Toyota F1 and there was nothing handed over, bribed or faked. Both Glock and Trulli stayed on dry Tires, they took the Gamble and lost it, just because of the one last Lap. I'd say the right one won the Championship in the End, because there was a Lot of Trouble around Mercedes involverd this Year and several Fines have had a sour Taste to me, as well as the Behaviour of the young Champion. Massa did fine, with the Help of Raikonen in the previous Race he held his Chances up to the Flag an did everything he could, he won the Race, absolutely undisputed in my Opinion. Well, Hamilton was desperately seeking save Harbour to not throw the Crown away, AGAIN. He did it, with a little Luck, but Luck also is Part of what it needs to be Champion. It was a very emotional Race, just what i love. Why ? That's RACING, that's what i love and that's what i want see. In the End, it doesn't give me a Penny or a Dime who wins the Championship. I'm not personally involved in one of the Contenders, so the best Men may win. As long as there are no Crashes and stupid Fines involved. Ferrari will be back next Year, Renault and BMW and hopefully Toyota also will try to catch up. Seeing Mercedes winning the Title gives me more Confidence in them of staying within the F1, because with the Downpour of Car Sellings, everything gets on the Line the next Months. Mercedes is closing their Plants for 4.5 Weeks over Christmas instead of usually 12 Days. There is just no Way of anybody asking about the F1 Budget when they bring home the Title, at least this upcoming Season. Ferrari has good Numbers in Sales, BMW, Renault and Toyota are deeply invested in F1. So they will have to adjust their Budgets and get through it, just what everybody needs to do in the World nowadays. -
jump starting 1st gen/batt.?w/car batt.
Squeeze replied to mytquin007cox.net's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
I jump started Bikes a hundred Times with a Car or even a Big Truck Battery. If you ensure the right Polarity and the same Voltage, there nothing which can go wrong
