  1. Ya know...I'd LOVE to have those programs, too!! :happy34: Can I drop you a line?
  2. Ah yes! I'll to that today! Thanks!!
  3. How the heck do you get the stock Allen bolts out to mount the spacer?? I've had this spaer for some time now and just cannot get a wrench in there to loosen the bolts.
  4. Both pulled and tongue weight limits. What're the limits? I've read that the RSV's warranty won't be void if a trailer is pulled and that it is the only MC that can pull one without voiding the warranty. Is that correct? If so, why doesn't the manual say anything about trailering?
  5. Those do sound nice! How do you drill out the baffles on stock pipes? Love those free mods. BTW, those horns on that bike are da freakin' bomb!
  6. I'd say we all have about 78% experience with it. Air is 78% Nitrogen. Save your dough. If you can get it free and refill it for free, then go ahead. It does have minor advantages. If you pay to have it filled and need air down the road and pure Nitrogen isn't available then you just wasted money on the initial fill. Do a google search on Nitrogen tire fill. There are lots of good articles.
  7. dray, why wouldn't the outlet on the upper fairing work??
  8. Mine was only $45 at my local Harley dealer.
  9. Ron Ayers microfiche lists a stator at about $151. Not bad really. I might be willing just to buy a new one to send to these guys to see what they can do. Questions, though. 1. What is an ideal wattage output? 600W, 750W ?? 2. What else has to be done to the bike to make this higher output stator work. Will anything else need to be changed to allow it to function properly & safely? Funny...I really have no need for more watts as I do not run electrical clothing or grips, high-powered, multiple lights, decorative lighting, big-thumpin'-stereo etc. I just like having more than I need...just in case.
  10. I just read this entire thread and now have a pounding headache! Which is why this is under my Christmas tree. http://cardowireless.com/scala_rider_teamset/ Bluetooth phone and intercom functions in one. Simple and effective. I let the radio/MP3 stuff come through the regular speakers.
  11. I tell ya...that center stand I got just feels flimsy to me. Plus, I think it is slightly bent as my bike leans a bit to one side when I use it. Oh well... I like the adapter and shoulda bought that instead since I already have an ATV lift but I didn't. I've already scraped it a number of times when cranked over trying to get rid of my chicken strips. Is the oil level not accurate when the adapter is used? Is the bike somehow not level?
  12. Mine whines but is out of warranty. Too bad Yamaha won't step up to the plate but hasn't it been said that the replacement basket doesn't really cure the whine and only moves it? Maybe a speaker upgrade would be better! kidding... As far as the wobble. Mine is steady and true. What kind of rear pre-load PSI are you running? How 'bout the front? Might wanna add some rear preload and drop the front PSI a bit to help get more weight on the front tire. 'Course I say that but I don't know where (speed/conditions) you experience the wobble from... Have you posted about it before? If so, I musta missed it...sorry.
  13. Well Larry, after reading your response as well the others I can now answer my own question. Yours is undoubtly different! The owner and designer makes all the difference. :D The price (although now irrelevent) is much closer than I first looked as I was comparing his to your free-standing model price and not factoring in S/H with his where I was with you better model. Bottom line is...I'll be getting my adapter from YOU after Christmas. Now I gotta something with this centerstand I just bought!
  14. The one on ebay is HALF the price, though. Are they that different?
  15. BuddyRich! MORE Questions! Where'd you get that cover that is at the bottom of the cylinders? Where'd you get the cover that replaced the one that usually says YAMAHA on it? (Not exactly sure what it covers...maybe the crank bolt?)
  16. Great! I'd like to see those pics!
  17. BuddyRich, What is that deflector above the air cleaner (picture on the right in your first post)? That looks like it'll keep the wind & rain off the bottom of my knees! I could really use something like that.
  18. Pretty cool... I was looking at your gallery the other day and you gave me the inspiration to use the reflector bases! Had forgot your name until I just checked out your gallery again! MrPhoto1 gave me the idea to use those marker lights from Wal-Mart.
  19. I had a set of the OEM red reflectors that used to go on the rear crash bars until the bag rails were installed. Not wanting to waste them PLUS wanting a bit more light in the back (doesn't everyone?) I decided to remove the reflector part from the base (it is only double-sided taped on). Couple of plastic screws (made for plastic not made OUT of plastic! ) held them together. A little wiring from the Blue wire at the brake light connector by the battery and adding a ground finished it right up. I drilled holes in the back of the OEM reflector backing plate (not the part that hold the reflector) so that I could run the wires right underneath the bags and up under the seat. Haven't tried it at night yet but they are certainly visible in the day! 2 lights (incandescent) 'bout 8' of 16ga wiring (4' of black, 4' of red) 1 Scotchlock A bit of electrical tape to "harness" the wires together. Probably didn't spend but $10. Darn cheap and effective.
  20. I just picked up Hondabrite. It is made by the makers of S100. It worked quite well! Expensive stuff though! $12.95 a quart!! I'll never complain about gas prices again...
  21. Yes...that Catrol can be some nasty stuff if you soak in it! Don't treat it like Palmolive! But boy does it clean! I believe there is a lot of lye in it.
  22. I don't have my whitewalls yet (being shipped as I write) but I have raised white letters on my Excursion. I've found that that Castol Super Clean is phenomonal on them and tires in general. I don't even have to touch them! Before cleaning my wheels I liberally spray down the tire with a 50/50 solution. By the time I get around to the fourth tire I'm ready to spray off the first. You can actually see the stuff remove all the brake dust, oil, dirt as you spray it on. I use a pressure washer to rinse it off. It really is like magic watching the letters go from grey to gleaming white in seconds. A normal hose requires scrubbing first. And no, the pressure washer alone doesn't make them near as clean. I'm hoping for the same results with my new whitewalls! The cheaper no-name stuff from Wal-mart works almost as well but requires a bit more product (75/25) and a bit more sit time.
  23. I put it up for auction here. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=216
  24. I have a spare trunk complete with all the hardware but no lock. Check the classifieds in the next few days and I'll post pics and price. Feel FREE to email me or PM me until it is posted for sale!! If you want to see the color click on my profile. It is the same color as the one I have now. The truck will come with a spare lid as the lid on it now has some scratches on the edge.
  25. More power + more fuel efficiency just doesn't compute. Those two things are not synonomous. I would suspect a mechanical problem but since you have access to both bikes, why don't you just swap the filters and see. Although I highly doubt it is the fuel filter. The floats will prevent any overfilling. Check the air cleaner and then pull the plugs and "read 'em".
