:rotf: She wouldn't let me donate the amount. Congrats to you all. Finally, I will get to have pictures of the Mechanic at a meet, she will be getting tattooed.

Eck you hit the head on the nail with the gas mileage, between 28 and 30 mpg. Atlanta is the only place where I had a hard time finding gas and when we did, long wait in line. Oh, I have seen gas as low as 3.39 through Louisiana and Texas, supposedly where they got hit. Go figure. Yeah one other thing about a rack, makes the front end squirley when hitting bumps and MS, LA, and TX has lots of bumps We spent time down in Montgomery, AL visiting a very dear person to Bobbie who is going in for surgery on Tuesday, then rode over and spent the night in Meridian MS. Met Wildhair for lunch in Shreveport LA. Yeah those two were carryon like long lost boy/girl friend. Boy you Texans sure do hug each other a long time . We are at my daughter's in Joshua Tx, just south of Ft. Worth. We will be leaving for Lowake Tx on Monday to see more of Bobbie's side of the family, more Texans huggin each other Bobbie has not taken to many pics yet, that will come when we for sure start getting into New Mexico on Tuesday.

I bump your bump

My trunk holds an XL and L helmet and I have the wing and trunk rack. No problems putting the helmets in there unless its full of camera chips.

The front end reminds of an old oldsmobile. Sorry Squidly , I love my Venture, but I really do like the looks of the Kawi, especially the way the trunk opens and dashboard. Not crazy about belt drive and they don't say what the MPG estimation is. I keep telling the Mechanic we need a second bike, and this may be it.

Are any of you going out to St. Judes? Mechanic and I are kind of open as to when we leave Friday afternoon/evening going through Ashville, NC or going to Atlanta. Need to get a count going to let Dragonrider know. Oh Yeah, Mechanic is sweating it out big time now. :crying::rotf:

Be interesting to see if Yamaha starts letting out leaks if a redesigned Venture is in the works for 2010, if not and that Kawi rides great, Yamaha is going to loose out. To bad it is belt drive and not shaft, at least it is not a chain.

Have her try ear plugs. Mechanic loves the sound of them. -
I want one as a second bike. The only draw back so far that I see, is a small gas tank.

Ok, the plan is to be at the Grand Canyon area around Wednesday, October 1, late. Ride around the area, see Boulder Dam, may go into Las Vegas because for the Bikefest going on that week in Las Vegas. Leave early Friday morning and ride to Tucson. See brother and his family. Leave out early Sunday morning and head to the 4 corners and on into Colorado. Depending on how far we get, hopefully around the Ft Collins area that night, leave out early Monday, ride into Laramie, Wy. via the mountain routes, if the snows have not fallen yet. Then come on into Nebraska panhandle to visit some relative, then on into Kansas to see parents and the other brother. Cut across Oaklahoma Friday and Arkansas into Tennessee. Then Saturday back into Columbia. I think that will be enough for a couple of weeks. :cool10:

St. Jude/Mean Dog Memorial Ride...........

I figured you were going I20 then Highway 78 up to Memphis. The funny thing is, we will be coming through Memphis on our way back from out West the previous weekend. Don't know if I can handle that much Memphis in 1 week. Also, we will be going by the Yamaha dealer that sells cheap in Mississippi -

The Mechanic pulled the weeds this morning and she will be sending your leathers out tomorrow. See, she is just not a mechanic neither. :rotf:

Jim, the hitch replaces the bar that connects the saddle bags and rear frame together, there is no rubbing. Also, I got the rack from here: http://www.alsmotorcycleaccessories.com/ I had him add the metal where the lights are mounted and the stinger option. The lights are LEDS and these are not the lights you can buy with rack. They recommend no more than 40 lbs and Mechanic already loaded up the one bag and it weighed around 25 lbs and with a small cooler, I will be close to 40.

Naw, I had to have something to carry all her camera chips, when we head out West.

You have a Royal Star Venture, 2nd gen. Yamaha goes by the name Star Motorcycles but everyone I know still calls the company Yamaha. Somewhere on this site, is a history page.

I bought a rack and the VentureDad hitch. Added the same LED light bar I have on my trunk to the rack. Bar contains tail, brake and turn signals.

turn signals for brake lights

Here is the back of my bike now with the rack on the hitch. Is this bright enough ? -
I think a $1.00 a head is a cheap thrill to see Mechanic (Bobbie) get this tattoo. Just think I have to look at it for the rest of my life.

Which brake fluid??????

Do NOT use Dot 5 Dot 3 or 4 is okay. -
South Carolina has inacted the price gouging law, any station here must prove what they are paying wholesale now if complaints are filed against them. Some of the stations are charing 4.79 per gallon where others are at 3.89

That was pretty simple.
