  1. I guess I should say, the one before the last one. 150-90B-15. That tire got a little over 24,000 miles. The tire I got after that, the 150-90-15 only got 8,500 miles. When I ordered this last rear tire, it was suppose to be a 150-90H-15, but they sent me the 24,000 mile tire again, the 150-90B-15. So anyway, I'll keep an eye on the tire they use to sell all the time and don't now, to see if I get 24,000 miles out of it again.
  2. Harley has the market on the biker side, and Honda has the market on the civilian market, so in this world, the main thing that stands out today is power and money. So all the ones that have money, plus power to go with it, scares Yamaha so much that they don't want to try to rise above these two companies, and then find out that they can't sell all the bikes they made. When they first came out with this bike, it looked like a Harley, but didn't sound like one. And being it's a V-4, even putting loud muffer's on it didn't sound like a Harley, so people "bikers" didn't buy them. Most of the people that buy a Harley want to be noticed, this is why they buy the bike, because it has a deep throat sound that shakes the ground. With the ones that don't like noise, then it's a GW, but people buy this one to show off what is esentually, a good looking bike that is too quiet. So when I bought my 99 RSV, Concord Yamaha had 4 RSV's that had been sitting on the floor for over a year, and they just wanted to get rid of them. So they dropped the price on every bike from $15,999 to $12,999. So far, I think this is the main reason the RSV is still being sold today, because their less expensive than the other two. And Yamaha is still trying at making something more or less like a Harley, that's why the big twin Roadliner came out to see if this bike would compete with a Harley. So for all of us medium income people, we go for the good deal, and so far, because were not into the "biker" crowd, Yamaha is a much better bike, and the ones that what to be noticed here, don't do it with noise, or buying a Cadilla, we do it with "CHROME". :rotf:
  3. Should have gotten this out before Brad let his baby go. Oh well, theres bound to be another one out there some place.
  4. You get motels cheaper Sun thru Thurs, but I guess you get cheaper schooling on week-ends, go figure. Anyway, should have a day or two open during the week Rod. We'll just have to see what mother nature does for the days that are open. I think Brent is the only other one that would be able to ride in the middle of the week?
  5. I've heard of bikes that have just gone around the block, to ones that have gone 300,000 plus miles. As for my 99 RSV, 90,000 miles. Going a littlel faster adding up the miles compared to my 83 Venture that I bought brand new and had for 16 1/2 years, it only had 106,000 on it when I sold it. Oil wise, just use regular GTX car motor oil as its been proven that motorcycle oil isn't any better. "Now, watch all the arguments that come up".
  6. Am I the only one, $12,999.00 brand new out the door less tax and license. I like to see anybody get a comparable bike at Harley for that. What's not to like about that!!!
  7. Hey Klaus, say hi for the rest of us over here on the northwest coast, and I guess tooldood might make the trip also, and maybe Fred in Pahrump?? Too bad I wasn't there on one of my usual trips to Vegas. I visit my wifes sister who lives just off of E. Warm Spings, and it would have been great to make the M&E if I were visiting at this time. So everybody have a great one and maybe I'll be there at the right time some time:confused24:. At least it's safer here, don't spend as much . The nearest casino is 1 3/4 hrs. from here. :rotf:
  8. Only in this case, I think Colorado has higher mountains. Don't know if I'll ever make it up there, but it looks well worth the ride. Will have to think it over the next time I visit my realitives in Auburn, Washington. :mustache:But as far as close goes, 165 miles from here, the Sierra's still have their scenery along with a few pics I took of Yosemite.
  9. I just saw the movie "Bucket List" and it was a kick. They started out with the sky diving thing and traveled all over the world, only because one of the two guys was filthy rich. About the only thing I haven't done that I want to do is take a curise on the biggest ship I can find (that would be Freedom of the Seas) 160,000 tons, one of their one or two week curise's just to see how much will power I have. I don't know about anybody else, but when they serve several meals 24/7, you could probably eat your way right into the Drs. office on board, lol. SO; to do that, I'd have to do what everybody else would try to do, and that's hit the lotto, haha!
  10. I'm in total agreement M as this is probably how it is with alot of disease's. For the pass 20 or 25 years, they've been saying that a cure is just 5 to 10 years away.................."WHAT CURE". This is a sore subject, because their playing with people's lives. All they do is find just enough of a cure to keep hitting you right where it hurts, your wallet; in this case (your purse). So just for my worth, we're all getting it right in the shorts .
  11. I'm taking the maximum of two drugs for my type II which I've had for 13 years now. It's one of the hardest disease's to control. When I first got it, I took care of it with diet and exercise and kept the numbers right on. But since I had a heart attack several years back, it's been an ongoing challenge to keep the numbers where they belong. If I could have kept walking (bad knee now), I think I could have kept everything in check. The fact that I cheat, and I'm 60 lbs. overweight now doesn't help either. So depending on your age, health, diet and exercise, this is something you have to manage on your own with checking your blood sugar several times a day, .
  12. This last storm takes the cake as I lost several sections of fence behind me and along side me. I guess I can't cry though, you can only repair a fence so long (this ones 24 years old), so for now, it's time to replace the rear sections with new. The side is still repairable.......some what:whistling:.
  13. Gee Brad and Lonna, after first seeing this thread and my heart skipping a beat, glad to hear that it wasn't more serious and that your on your way to recovery. God was definitely watching over you. I guess we're all wondering what happened to the tire to make it blow. A couple of more miles, and I probably would have bought the farm myself, but caught this after I made a stop to help a motorcyclist who was broke down. (see attached pic). You were right Brad in saying check your tires. My prayers go out to you both, God Bless.
  14. Somebody else got on here and said line your pockets with $1000 dollar bills and they don't make those anymore.............have a great and prosperous New Year you guys and catch cha next year.
  15. Depending on how much everybody drinks, maybe..........just maybe, the ones that type too fast to catch up to will be tanked and type much slower. Of course; if everybody is tanked, we'll be lucky that any of us can type at all :rotf:
  16. I guess you guys are down under if it's less than a couple of hours till New Years Eve, we've got a little less than 15 hours before midnight gets here in California, so your alot closer to your hangover than we are, sleep tight and a Happy New Year.
  17. #1.........two actual set downs on the crash bars from losing my balance, no damage. #2..........forgot to put the kickstand down :buttkick:no damage. #3..........tried to turn around on a narrow street going up a hill and drove it right into the asphalt. $1,200.00! #4........T-boned a car in a parking lot from a BLONDE backing out so fast, I didn't even have time to hit the brakes. Shop wanted $4,000.00, but fixed it myself for $700.00!
  18. And the same to you and yours Fred, have a happy holiday and New Year, and I guess we'll see ya next year.
  19. Been doing this ride every other year.... 01, 03, and 05 for the 4-Corners Rally but missed it this year. Pretty good rally, and one of the best 10 train rides in the U.S., the Durago-Silverton. Took the train one day from Durango to Silverton taking the bus back, then took the same ride the following day with the motorcycle to Ouray; some of the best scenery I've ever seen. Here's a couple of pics. Train ride, the last of three 11,000 ft. pass's, and parked in Ouray for lunch, "great ride". If it weren't such a long ride (always 8 days for me), it would be a great VWIV ride.
  20. And the same to you and yours Jack, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    House for sale!

You said if you own a dog. Well, I think it would do well for a cat. It would have plenty of room to run up and down, but not back and forth. :rotf:
  22. Next question Jack. I always point out asking Fred in Pahrump about anything that has to do with a 1st gen. Maybe it's because I tell everybody about the fact that he has 3 or 4 bikes torn apart all over his garage that never seem to get fixed. :confused24:Anyway, just a suggestion.
  23. Ya had to see what it felt like to take off the trunk and make like a RSTD. So now you found a bolt that will make everybody nervous as to what it's for , and we'll have to take off the front seat to get the back seat off and so on to see if we have the same thing. Oh well, I didn't have anything else to do today anyway.
  24. I think I sent you an invitation for the Wreath's Across America next Saturday 12/15/07 at the National Cemetery near Gustine. Was there last year for their first annual Wreath Laying ceremony. We'll be meeting at McDonalds on Vasco Rd. in Livermore which is on the north side (left) of I-580 at 7:00 a.m., KSU at 7:15 a.m., and ride down to stage at the cemetary at 8:30 a.m. So congratulations George, I know you'll come to really enjoy your new ride; hope you can make it next week. Have a good one, Rich
