  1. Was there a sound of air sucking into the tank when you took the cap off? Also when you run it with the cap off take it for a easy ride with it off. The vent hole may be clogged. Just a thought.
  2. New to you and has aftermarket exhaust. I wonder if the bike has been re-jetted rather poorly actually... Just a thought.
  3. Bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow.... oh hell. It does look like Saturday and Sunday we might get some ride time in.
  4. Well now, I wish that had been me. I would have enjoyed meeting you. I was in Liverpool twice today and live on the other side of Oswego. In fact I also ride a Midnight Venture. Perhaps it will be my turn some day.
  5. Stick your finger inside the tail pipe and feel around for a metal edge. (Be careful) The pipe leading out the end can be cut off with a Dremel and shifted aside to give a more straight through flow and a "poppier" exhaust. Otherwise it should feel like a solid pipe straight back from the exit all the way around... Just a thought...
  6. ...except that a real synthetic typically has a better additive package and goes much longer before needing to be changed. A true synthetic holds it's viscosity for a longer period of time, adheres better to metal surfaces, and the list goes on... One is not comparing apples to apples with conventional oil and a real synthetic... IMO.
  7. Hard to tell how old the battery is when you buy the bike even if new. I just replaced one this summer in an '06 with 43,000 miles on it... OEM battery. Ya just never know.
  8. I thought the point of this forum was so that people could come in here and discuss the info regarding using a car tire and not have to keep listening to the preachers constantly telling you "Thou Shalt NOT" use a car tire over and over again... Really. If you let them start this again what is the point of having the forum?
  9. Sheer numbers of course. You actually make the point that because there are more cars then there will likely be more head injuries perhaps mitigated by helmet use. I wonder how all the automobile operators will like having to wear helmets if it were instituted. If there is a great number that would agree to it and like being protected then why do they not already wear them... hmm.
  10. Oh boy lol, A Cyborg is a blend of a living being and technology like the "Bionic Man." The Cylons were on Battlestar Galactica... machines they lovingly called "toasters," some of them looked very human and some not... The Borg are Cyborgs from Star Trek. The Next Generation and Voyager. The most famous one was played by Jeri Ryan as character 7 of 9. What a looker! An old Sci-Fi fan. Thought I might be able to help.
  11. It has been said there are more head injuries of automobile occupants than motorcycle riders in any given year. Should we not then be wearing helmets in car's to prevent those injuries? -------> Throwing another 6-pack on the table...
  12. Yeah I could use a bowl... let me grab a couple beers. BRB.
  13. This is the bag we use. http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/698/Tour-Trunk-Rollbag
  14. I was careful. Good advice though. Also I thought I would add that I found some of the bolts loose when I went to re tighten them, a couple were nearly out. A friend with a Tour Deluxe had the same issue when he checked.
  15. There are also issues with the bolts for the hinges coming loose inside the saddle bags. Now on my second bike with these bags, I have learned to remove all the bolts and lock tight them. They will jam the lock if they loosen up too far.
  16. I am afraid I am tied up this weekend. Sadly, the ride is not far from me.
  17. In passing, another thought to consider... A friend with a 1986 Kawasaki Voyager XII uses the trike kit here. http://www.towpacusa.com He seems to do pretty well with it and is removable if he wants to play...
  18. Yeppers I goofed on that one... I had myself a bit confused with the Roadstar. Sorry about that...
  19. ^^^ that was a Stratoliner he was referring to... heh. Not Roadliner,... Two very different bikes.

It's the belly button of nowhere... heh. I had a Venture and a TD out Saturday around Fulton, NY. You don't want to know what anatomical part that is...
  22. Yes, with either of my bikes. RSTD or Venture...
  23. Lay off the fats for a while. Bile in the Gall breaks down fats and if the duct is plugged it has no where to go... Makes it painful. Fatty meats and Dairy in particular. You should get news soon. I hope you feel better.
  24. I have personally seen a well kept Metzler 880 delaminate. A 150 80/15 at 15k miles. It was found by accident on a ride when talking tires at a stop. I bent over to look at the tire from the back and pulled a fist sized chunk away from the carcass. It was being held on by a thin strip of rubber at the top. The tires still had half tread and the owner was singing their praises as he liked the tires... There have been a number of postings about this the last couple years on other forums and some here... Not much said lately though. I hope they solved the issues. I would like to get a set myself. In the mean time I have heard that Kenda has upgraded their Kruze tires and I might do a set of them next just to see how they are...
