Not long ago I suffered from a sudden case of the dizzies. Was checked out and they could not define my problem at first. Blood pressure was under control and no lead in symptoms. I felt like I was trying to fall down every time I tried to move or stand up. Sitting still or laying down I was just fine. A hearing specialist told me that the problem (symptom related) was that of crystals that build up in the canals of the inner ear that break loose over time and move around. They stimulate things in the ear that have to do with balance and make you think your surroundings are not where they really are. Over time your central nervous system can get use to these though sometimes not. I seem to be adjusting ok. However for those times when I don't they prescribe Meclizine. Essentially seasick meds because I am essentially seasick.. Not a cure but it may help with the symptoms. I wish you well on your journey.

They were awesome rain tires for me. Never felt uncomfortable running at interstate speeds in the rain with them. However because of that ability I think they wear a bit too fast and they wallow in the twisties on such a heavy bike. Good overall tire.

Warranty laws were different when Mobil came out with Mobil 1 and the 25,000 mile change interval. The common oil change interval was 3000 miles also. I believe Manufacturers and anyone that was liable for failures or made money changing oil back then likely put some pressure on them to back off that claim. Just guessing... I have been using Mobil 1 Synthetic for a long time now. I typically change all small motors, Lawnmowers, Snowblowers, Motorcycles, once a year. Automobiles now get changed every 20 thousand because the new Mobil oil filters will go that long. Previously I changed them at 15 thousand. I Sold my RSTD to my son at 50 thousand miles, doing 12 thousand a year average, still going strong. My daughter got the Ford Escape at 150 thousand miles. Still doing well. My 2004 Ford F150 just hit 150 thousand and burns 1 quart every 4 thousand miles. Not too bad. Runs well. Oh "her" 2009 Chevy Impala 3.5 L 98 thousand miles... you get the picture... I don't think you need the "new and improved" Mobil synthetic to go a year of regular driving. The cost is twice as much, but your mileage may vary...

I remember reading this thread. Never replied to it... interesting to see it pop up again. My name is about what I do. More to the point I take pictures of your bones, and other things, with x- rays. I have been at it for about 30 years now. I hope I never have to see any of you on my table in the future...

I believe many have used Sta-bil successfully. I however do not use it. I do use Seafoam. I also have never had an issue when I have. I will say that a couple years, as it takes a couple times for me to learn a lesson, I thought I could get away with not using it and found out the hard way that carb cleanings are expensive. There are other products... others may also make suggestions as to their favorites too.

You know, then I would say why worry. Most all the tires that fit work well for someone or other. It seems that you found one that you liked that fit the wallet well. That seems to be all that really counts to me. Keeping an ear open for the make and model of tires that give some folks the most trouble can help us to avoid that same trouble with our purchases in the future, however if you had good fortune with your last set, I would say keep on with what you are doing... Fuss over tires if you are trying to find ones that better suit you for whatever reason... Enjoy the ride,

I use these, http://www.chilhowee.net/grip-covers.html . They are just a patch of leather, with or without the tassels as you prefer, that sit over the existing grips. Just enough added diameter and they don't require you to grip any harder to turn the throttle. They do require some contact cement to be used to keep them in place.

I am running a Shinko on the front of my Venture as well. Seems to be doing ok, but I am not so sure how I feel about it yet with wet roads and tar snakes. The jury is still out. The 777 line is a thicker treaded tire I believe and should last longer then the Tourmaster I am given to understand. We shall see.

Seen one of them go like that on a friend's bike. Nasty business... I use to love Metzler tires. Never buy them now.

I just looked up the 0W-40 Synthetic oil you used and it is confusing. I found some that shows the SAE circle with "Energy Conserving" on it and some listing without. Evidently you used the one that was. "Energy conserving" oil will make your clutch slip. You can use Mobil1 Synthetic oil. I do all the time, but you have to be sure which you use. I typically use the 10W-40 Synthetic. It is not "Energy Conserving" and my clutch is never bothered. Happy hunting.

I tried and my hands are a bit too big... also read the instructions... still too big. I will have to see about splitting the faring I guess.

My vehicles all get their oil changed at 15,000 actually with Mobil Synthetic and the Mobil 1 filter rated for that mileage. The bike gets changed once a year regardless of the mileage... typically up to 12 thousand. It also gets an extended mileage filter. Motors all run just fine. Last long... My son inherited my RSTD with 50k on the clock and is working on doubling that. I like Mobil Synthetic oil...

The old Synthetic issue with causing gasket leakage is no longer around. That problem has been fixed and now the stuff of legend. You may switch without fear. I heard it from a friend...
