    I made one out of the amp from an old set of PC speakers. I took off the rectifier and hooked it directly up to to a fused accessory wire. Works really well and you can adjust the input level for different Items, I used it for my MP3 player.

    I like the pillow tops better but my wife did not like them so I had to switch back to the smooth for my wife, just have to try them and see. I still want to get the Butler mod done to mine.

    I did not like the Concourse personally, however I know several 1st gen riders who switched to one and love it.

    I guess the best bet would to buy one in good shape and a parts bike. I do all my wrench turning and if I have an issue I can always turn to you guys.

    I have been contemplating the acquisition of another 1st Gen, the last one I owned was an 83 Royale and I loved it however the notion of increased maintenance, reliability and the availability of spare parts has me in a quandary as the whether or not it would be wise acquisition. I would like to know from those that own a 1st gen how hard are the parts to obtain now and what is the level of effort involved in keeping one in reliable riding condition?
