Headset without the helmet speakers
Rick Haywood replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
well me too. If you run the headset with the helmet speakers then it has to be set at the HS posaition. If you remove the headset speakers but leave the rest hooked up (mic) you will then need to switch it to SP so you can hear it but will be able to transmit also with the headset mic. -
Headset without the helmet speakers
Rick Haywood replied to rumboogy's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
yes find an old headset and cut the speakers off. P,lug into the plug where the whole headset plugs into and set the system on speakers. I do this with mine all the time. I have a mic for my half helmet and listen throught the fairing speakers. Works fine. I -
That is exactly what I did so when I wanted to ride without a helmet or just wear my half helmet I could. It works fine through the bike speakers and will still transmit and receive fine. I listen to my music also and when someone talkes it cuts out the music when they are talking. I keep my squelch at about 18 so I can only hear the people within about 3/4 mile from me. Good luck

The only problem I have with other peoples beliefs, point of views and religion is that they expect me to take it home with me and make them my beliefs also

I have the shorter and wider windsheild and still get about 40 mpg most the time. Mine is 13 inches tall and 4 inches wider than stack. I get about 32 on the interstat running around 70 mph pulling my trailer

Well first off had a great time at Vogel we are so glad we went. Met a bunch of people and made some new life long friends. The trip home was good and Shirley and I made it home to Illinois at 4:30 pm today (Sunday) And guess what I didn't have to rescue anyone on the way home. LOL Thanks to everyone who made it a great trip for us and what agreat group the Venture people are

It is a nice bike but how come so many people have an issue with the tape deck on the ventures? It isn't in the way and most bikes didn't have a cd player until the last few years plus with MP3 players and Satalite radio why would anyone want to carrier arounds CD's. Biggest drawback for the Venture is no Fuel injection, biggest drawback for the Harley, not watercooled.

Hummm, maybe that explains why no matter what I do mine seems to not run exactly like I think it should. I am going to swicth brands just to see. It's only 8 bucks and who knows what may happen

Well I already checked and I can still pick it up on one side enough to get it done. And almost all the time I am pulling my trailer I am with others so I should have help. If not even though I ride a venture I still belong to Gold Wing Road Riders Association and have a thing called Rescue plus. Costs me $60 a year and anything me, my wife or my daughter is riding on or in or driving they will come and either tow it change it or what ever up to 12 times a year. I hve used it many times to tow a vehicle and my daughter has used it when she is with frienads who lock the keys in the car. Just sign when they are done and off you go. It is the neatest thing since bottled beer.

I was just thinking about that. If I can't fis it on the trailer with a plug and inflate a tire I would take off the lug nuts and lift the trailer as my wife pulls the wheel off and just set it down on the hub.

I Put the same plugs in mine by accident and I notice 2 things right now. First it seemed to run just a little smoother and second I lost about 3 mpg on the 2 lanes and about 5 mpg on the interstate. Was it just a coincident? Don't know but I switched back to the 8's and my mileage went back to 41 mpg 2 lane and 37 interstate.

Just looked at the extended weather for next week and as of now it appears to be perfect weather. Highs around 84 and lows around 61. It also doesn't look to bad for our ride down from Illinois to Blairsville via Dresden, TN:clap2:
