  1. 1) Nag him till he goes, 2) My wife riders her own, and has always wanted to passenger someone, ride with her. 3) When she is riding her own, I have room for a passenger.
  2. Factory Bridgestone- 5,500 miles... and very bald when I got them changed. Dunlop E-3's- I have 6,400 miles on them, still looking good, not sure what to guess the milage to be. I ride a mix of 1 and 2 up. 2009 RSTD.
  3. Make sure you are downshifting, match gear to engine speed... lugging in 5th while going downhill at 30 mph will make mine have a "popping" sound.
  4. I feel left out. Do I need to offened someone, or be offeneded to get in the group hug?
  5. For work- I spend about $32. per month in a diesel VW Jetta. (42 mpg) wife spends about $290. per month in a chevy aveo (34 mpg)
  6. Happy Birthday !!!!!
  7. We are staying at the Hawiian, will get there sometime the 9th, and leaving the 15th.
  8. Recently, my brother found a good deal on a 2006 Jayco Motorhome... too good to be true. He got the VIN and ran a carfax. Best $30 he ever spent... saved him from making a $24,000 mistake. I am not sure carfax lists motorcycles, but it would be worth looking in to.
  9. I have had a GoPro camera for a couple years.... I have never caught anything "real interesting" while riding. Figure that my odds, of checking that off the bucket list, would improve at Daytona during bike week.
  10. An Experienced Rider Course ( now called BRC-2 ), is a great course to take with any bike, that is new to the Rider. I went from a C50T to a RSTD, there was some weight difference and handling differece.... just get to know the new bike and ..... Ride... Enjoy... Ride more, enjoy even more... etc etc etc....
  11. will be there March 9th through the 15th.... anyone else going?
  12. I had a P11, and now have the PF9. I wanted something small and easy to conceal. Both guns like the 124 grain Hydrashock. Considering the size, both shoot decent.
  13. www.hennessyhammock.com good stuff.
  14. Merry Christmas!
  15. If deleting the post caused this type response, suppose what would have happened had it NOT been deleted. I consider us lucky!!
  16. Congratulations!!!!! Glad to hear everything went well.
  17. Fred, Mine does not have the remote control, but is a feature I wished for over the past 2 years I have had mine. Same here, I have "lots" of video of just riding, nothing much interesting going on, but the time that something interesting would happen, with my luck... the camera would not be on. I do plan on getting the remote when it comes out, but I am also considering a less expensive camera for my next purchase. ( I want one to point at the wife and I while riding, and another to point backwards off my luggage rack. ) with multiple cameras, I get more editable footage for the same saddle time.
  18. I have a gopro, and I like it. I have considered purchasing another camera... I was looking at the Contour and now the Drift. But, seeing the new features of the GoPro2, I will likely go with the GoPro2 my GoPro HD is still a great camera, I just want another angle to record during the ride. Rick.
  19. I would like to see a topic under TECH TALK for - Riding Gear Motorcycling is about personal choice, and personal freedom. Some enjoy little protective gear as possible, others like to wear a full suit for every ride. I would like to hear from those on this forum who have "been there done that" and what their opinions about the gear they were or were not wearing. With a thread for Riding Gear, it can be left off the thread for prayer request. Rick.
  20. Glad you are still with us.
  21. why not use a phone with a navigator app, that bluetooth's to a headset with turn by turn directions? I have Verizon VZnavigator on my Samsung Rogue (semi smart phone) bluetooth to my Cardio Q2 headset, and get turn by turn directions. I can also make and receive calls via the bluetooth connection. The Headset has FM radio, and a jack for an MP3 player. something you may want to look at, unless there is alot of benefit from having the actual GPS unit? Rick
  22. 304 three five four 914 zero @home three zero four 354 six six five one @ office there are a couple still open, Momma T's on Rt. 16, Ginos in Grantsville and Fat Matt's in Grantsville. The Y-restaurant is a good choice open in Arnoldsburg Rt. 16
  23. Rt. 16 is a great ride. I do enjoy riding to Gauley Bridge, cutting across Rt. 60 ( Midland Trail ). But if you would like to avoid Gauley Bridge, then take Rt. 16 from St. Marys to I-79 go North get off at the Burnsville Exit, take Rt. 5 west to Glenville WV, take 33/119 north to Linn, catch Rt. 47 west back to Rt. 16 intersection at Smithville, stay on Rt. 47 until you come to Parkersburg and I-77. I have made this trip several times. I live near Grantsville WV. Yammer Dan lives near I-79 exit ( I think. ) Skid lives near Flatwoods, and so does Grindo. Enjoy the trip, watch for our wildlife! But, your destination is Talcott, stay on Rt. 16 south, until you get to Dixie WV, then make a left on to Co. Rt. 2/Cannalton Hollow Rd, going pass the Mt. Olive Correctional Center, when you get to Smithers you will take Rt. 60 to 61 follow 61 to Oak Hill catch Rt. 19 to Shady Spring follow Rt. 3 to Talcott. ( this would be the scenic trip ). Safe Riding. Rick.
  24. There are some great motorcycling courses out there. It never hurts to have a refresher course to remind us of the good habits we should have. Thanks for posting this Don, it is a reminder of the basics that we tend to take for granted! Rick.
