  1. When I see poeple that blatantly stupid, I wonder to myself "How on earth did we get to the top of the food chain"?
  2. I just bought a vest about a month ago. I ......was.....planning on putting a large Star logo patch on the back with a rectangular Venture patch on the bottom. Maybe I will just leave the large one off and just put the small Venture patch at the bottom. Would this be a problem ??
  3. This is my baby. She is a min pin.
  4. What mama wants...................mama gets........
  5. Very cool trailer, but I would still be leary of taking the pooch. Think they would get hit with exhaust fumes? Maybe with that design it may just go around them. That would also be something to consider.
  6. I would never take my dog on the bike. I would have a real hard time if I dumped the bike and she got hurt. I have the choice of whether or not to get on, but she does'nt. And the one poster that lets his wife hold onto the dog?!?! Really? Seriously? Ever think what would happen if she dropped the dog or if it jumps out of her lap? Maybe cause an accident when someone tries to swerve to keep from running it over? Not good, sorry, but animals have no place on a motorcycle, I don't care how "cute" it is. Just my$.02
  7. Racing my rc cars on either asphalt (summer) or Ozite (winter) carpet tracks.
  8. Looks good, nice job. But I prefer the Ram Mount for my MP3 player, run the cable down the handle bar and into the fairing right into the jack. I removed my outdated. absolutely useless cassette player and installed usefull guages. CD changer is a space waster and a mp3 player holds thousands of songs....more than a cd changer. But you did do a nice install.
  9. For the GPS mounting, go to gpscity.com, they sell some really nice RAM Mounts that fit your GPS. I have one that the GPS clips into just like what mounts in the car. It has a ball mount with a u-bolt for the handle bar, plus I bought an Aquabox for the rainy days. Talk to Larry (CarbonOne) about the hitch. He built me one and installed it one my bike (with my help) last fall. I am sure he would send one via UPS.
  10. Well when he side swipes a car.....and he will ........hopefully the driver gets out and beats the living crap out of him. What an a$$. Perfect example of how crotch rockets have a bad reputation.
  11. I have a Dart trailer. See my avatar. Does not sway or bounce. The only time I know it's back there is stopping and going into curves. I can feel it push the bike. Other than that, well worth the money in my opinion. Some members here prefer the Harbor Frieght trailers. It's all in what you want and how often you plan on using it and how much you want to spend. But generally, I think the ones designed for motorcycles would be the best choice. Just my opinion.
  12. Looks like a good entry level GPS. Cheap enough. Like you said, if it croaks, toss it. I have seen posts on the Nuvi locking up and those are what? $600 or so? I wish I would have seen this one before I bought mine.
  13. They are all my favorites because in my humble opinion......they are all heroes.
  14. I disagree. My wife has a Honda 750 Shadow Spirit and she has no problem keeping up with my RSV. But then again, I don't try and leave her in the dust. Too big of a bike for a new rider is not a good thing. My sister in-law moved up to a bigger bike because "she could'nt keep up". Horsehockey!! Now she rides a bike that way too big for her. You can see it just in the way she tries to move it around and she still lags behind. The power to weight ratio of my wifes 750 to my 1300 is about the same. Her bike is around 450 lbs, mine is over 900!! All you have to do is twist the throttle a bit more. Too much power for a new rider is not a good thing. Too heavy of a bike is definately not good. Keep the bike small, lite with a little bit of power and let her get used to it for a few years, then move up to something bigger. Believe me, a 750 is more than enough for a first time rider.
  15. Well, two years ago I went to the International Motorcycle show in Novi Michigan. I sat on every single touring bike there. I settled on the Venture. I bought my '07 from a gentleman in Maryland in '09. I LOVE the bike. I went to the same show again two weeks ago. If I were in the market for a new bike, I think for me, it would be the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700. Beautiful bike, $2000 less than the Venture and no silly cassette. I personally think Yamaha are complete fools for trying to sell a bike with that stupid thing in the dash. Even offering a cd player is a joke. It takes up half the saddle bag. Why bother with either one when you can simply buy a Ram Mount that holds an MP3/Ipod player and you have hundreds if not thousands of songs available. Putting unsupported technology (cassette) in any vehicle and expecting consumers to pay hard earned dollars for it is just ridiculous. Especially in the economy we have had the last two years. But you know what........if they we're to build it (a new tourer) they would sell.
  16. Well I just got back from the International Motorcycle Show in Novi. If I were in the market for a new bike......I would have to seriously concider the Kawasaki Vulcan 1700. It has evrything the Venture does and more at $2000 less. Ok, so it doe'nt have the awesome cassette deck. But it's VERY nice bike.
  17. Hmmmm, well I just recieved my Stebel horn in the mail on Saturday and I just bought a Ram Mount Aqua box for my GPS and a Ram Mount for my Ipod. So I just blew that $200 and then some.
  18. I am going Saturday. I went the last wo years. Last year it sucked. Not near the vendors from the previous year. If it isn't any better this year, it will be the last time I go. Even with the discount tickets your dropping almost $30 before you get in the door.
  19. I installed a set of Ultra Classic mufflers on my 07 RSV. I drilled out the baffles. I think it's just right. Not offeensive to me at all. Now my wifes 07 Shadow has Vance & Hines pipes. Not the short shots. Baffle is about 18 inches long on each pipe. This is borderline for me. She loves it.
  20. Has anyone tried out these horns? I have been looking at the Stebel Magnum and seen these. They look like they would have a better fit in the stock location. Sound level is advertised to be the same as the Magnums. I have read the posts about the Magnums sticking out farther but not being a problem, but I think these may work better. Any imput from others that have these particular horns (TM80) would be appreciated.
  21. I heard the old fat guy decided to become a drug mule.
  22. That was truely awesome!
  23. Usually posted speeds. I am not in any hurry. Makes the ride last longer.
  24. My Hopnel was too long also. They say in the instructions to trim the from and velcro it down, but the tank opening was waaaaay too small. I ended trimming the opening to fit then had to take it to a shoe repair to have it re-stitched. Not a quality piece in my opinion. Had problems with the one for my wifes Honda 750. I won't buy anymore Hopnel products.
  25. Leftovers???? Heck, I coming to your house for breakfast!!
