  1. Then check for spark from the wire at that cylinder. Don't do it with your finger though. I'm not sayin how I know this..
  2. Won't help any on a second gen. You not changing the size of the plumbing the air breathers attach to and its smaller than the opening of the air breather. Also the air breathers attach to a T so your basically pulling thru both breathers at any time as it is.
  3. These have hi/lo and look pretty good. They are 78 a piece but are worth the price if you ask me. The forth and fifth wires are for a parking lamp bulb. http://www.chopperscycle.com/LIGHTING/Headlight-Assemblies/Chrome-Scalloped-4-12-p7739396.html http://a763.g.akamai.net/7/763/1644/3/app.infopia.com/img/image/fp/VPID/7739396/extra/1/size/250
  4. Mike, I have always had 4.5 inch headlights as my passing lamps so I had 3 hi/lo beams. I tried some 5.25 headlights on there for a while. The HID bulbs would fit in them and worked but the headlights were just too big for my taste. So I went back to my 4.5 inch headlights with PIAA H4's in them. When I hit my hi beams at night I CAN SEE pretty good.
  5. The thicker leads going to the lamp are very high voltage wire. If you do this get a set of voltmeter leads and use those with 2 or 3 layers of heatshrink where you make the splices. Then you should be safe from any arcing. I did this for my passing lamps and put the ballast in the fairing
  6. Its the hi amperage draw of the starter. The voltage drops way down when you hit the starter and the light had just started its ignition. It cannot maintain the high voltage needed to keep it lite so it goes out. I have a relay and a direct feed from the battery. If I leave the switch on sometimes the light stays lite other times it doesn't.
  7. That's is what I did. It becomes a habit fairly quickly.
  8. AMNOT...... You lose a robot somewhere ?
  9. :bang head::doh::no-no-no::rotf: am not,am not,am not!!!!
  10. Has my display turned green. Seems to me it was always a pale yellow or tan but last night It looked like its turned green. Anybody else seen this ?
  11. I tend to ride by sound and feel. Hardly look at the tach even though I have one. I would rather be watching whats going on in front of me than to be looking at the tach. So for me a rev limit is a good thing. I'm outta warranty in a month, so I'll be putting on the dyna also but keep it below 8k.
  12. If your getting a display the seems to lockup and then start working. Can't change anything then starts it could be the control head connectors. Mine did that when I first got it. There is a bundle of round connectors in the fairing on the left side of the headlight as your facing the bike. The one with the blue band is the connector to the controller. Pull it apart and put some dielectric grease on it. If that doesn't solve it it maybe the controller or the radio/cb. This assumes the CB is off. The orange light on the right between the CB and Select button would be lite if the CB is on. Its a common question here if the music cuts out because quite a few have accidentally turned on the CB and its not turned up loud enough to hear but it halts the music/cd/aux anytime there's CB traffic.
  13. Kinda of doubt if its a cat failure unless they have installed some kind of bypass in recent years. I had one fail on me the the 80's. Car would not go over 35 no matter how much peddle I used. Its like having a tailpipe crimped to 1/8 its original size so the engine can't breath and it near goes away till its replaced.
  14. If I put the wife on ebay there be a hundreds of hits. All over me.

  16. You know I prefer one of these. Keep one in all the vehicles. http://www.knivesandweapons.com/images/store/A259-sm.jpg Tried using these one time. I still got knots on me http://www.knivesandweapons.com/images/store/JN047-sm.jpg Then there was the stitches I needed after carrying these in my pockets. http://www.knivesandweapons.com/images/store/J085-sm.jpg Them things are sharp......
  17. Yea, That'll make ya nervous.... A bunch of other things too afterwards... :rotf:Broke comes too mind ... Congrats and good luck.
  18. We did that for a few years way back when. Finally got smart about 20 years ago and said no more. You need your time off together or you just wind up passing each other in the hall most of the time..
  19. Ok guys, Its getting a little to warm in here. The thread has been killed but I'm locking it to keep it from getting any more personal. This is one of those threads that is just like politics. One persons ideals of how things should or shouldn't be handled against anothers. .
  20. I have had the same Bi-Xenon HID on 2 different bikes over the last 7 years and 100k. It still works great and is much brighter than any incandescent. But its easy to switch back. As you can see the kit has a male plug that you plug into where your regular bulb would go. Just pull the HID back out and insert a standard H4 and your back running. But I never had to yet.
  21. Had a Mustang on my Nomad. Will buy another if they come out with one for the RSV. They are great seats.
  22. Kinda like driving a race car. If there's a crash happening in front of you drive towards the back of it. It'll be on the other side of the track when you get there.
  23. I like the black on my silver 05. The distortion is not something you notice because of its location but just wanted people to be aware of it.
  24. You know, Mine does that too when I keep it wide open all the time... :rotf: Maybe your running faster cause the vibes are gone now and you can see if that's a police car coming up behind you. Too many stops at Dairy Queen.
  25. Gunboat has Hair ???? :rotf:
