  5. well a man was mowing the grass here today and came up to me and said what kind of motorcycle is under that cover? i pulled off the cover and showed him the venture, he said start it up and i did i explained that a friend of mine eusa1 mike drove it back there and shes a runner. i let him pick at it. of course the little cracks and the great niece painting the trunk brown took some of the value off of it i showed him the receipt for tires batttery and brakes and exhaust. i tould him i cant let him take it for a ride as he had no MC endorsement and last time he was on a bike was 15 years ago. he said it pops and sputters at idle i explained that my friend mike said it could be dropping a cyclinder but he did take it up to around 75mph and never took it out of 3rd gear. well after all the looky here and looky there he came at me with a $700 offer i thought about it and said let me think it over. as its not in that bad a shape for an old girl even mike usa1 said she can be fixed maybe carbs and plug wires and seafoam the crap out of it. and well since its up and stored im thinking no.

  13. its hot here in peru IL but i had to go out and do some errands i was driving the pontiac grandprix its black in color i had the a/c on high as it can go and it was ice cold in there. i pulled up into my yard to go get somethings out of my apartment when it hit me. i felt like someone sucker punched me right in the head and guts. i went down to the ground and my leggs started to cramp. i did manage to get inside my apartment where i started to drink warm not cold water. i did not make it out to run my errands as im sick to my guts and my head feels like the little drummer boy is in there beating his drum. and im running a light fever of about 100.6 dang i thought here we go another heat stroke like i had back in 1978 while in the army. right now im feeling a little better and the a/c is helping along with gatoraid. i just want to say be carefull out there in 90+ heat and high humidity

Charles B. Wells Jr., Palmyra, NY DOGS DON'T HAVE SOULS, DO THEY? I remember bringing you home. You were so small and cuddly with your tiny paws and soft fur. You bounced around the room with eyes flashing and ears flopping. Once in a while, you'd let out a little yelp just to let me know this was your territory. Making a mess of the house and chewing on everything in sight became a passion and when I scolded you, you just put your head down and looked up at me with those innocent eyes as if to say: "I'm sorry, but I'll do it again as soon as you're not watching." As you got older, you protected me by looking out the window and barking at everyone who walked by. When I had a tough day at work, you would be waiting for me with your tail wagging just to say, "Welcome home. I missed you." You never had a bad day and I could always count on you to be there for me. When I sat down to read the paper and watch TV, you would hop on my lap looking for attention. You never asked for anything more than to have me pat your head so you could go to sleep with your head over my leg. As you got older, you moved around more slowly. Then one day, old age finally took its toll, and you couldn't stand on those wobbly legs anymore. I knelt down and patted you lying there, trying to make you young again. You just looked up at me as if to say you were old and tired and that after all these years of not asking for anything, you had to ask me to do one last favor. With tears in my eyes, I drove you one last time to the vet. One last time you were lying next to me. For some strange reason you were able to stand up in the animal hospital - perhaps it was your sense of pride. As the vet led you away, you stopped for an instant, turned your head and looked at me as if to say: "Thank you for taking care of me." I thought, "No - thank YOU for taking care of ME."
  15. hey mike i knew your wifes name was cherie but just wanted to let you know i have a sister named cherie and yep spelled the same way. she said to ask your wife how fun is it to find tshirts hats keyrings spelled that way LOL.

  18. hey think that is bad i saw a radiator on ebay going for $900 dollars and its a used 1984 shh dont tell skydock_17 about that he donated a good one to me.
  19. i just want to give a big thanks to eusa1 his wife and daughter and rick haywood for comming down and moving my bike out of storage and getting it up on its center stand in the back yard of my apartment. mike eusa1 drove it home and did most of the grunt work he drove it right up in the yard like a pro and that grass hill aint fun. we got boards under the front tire and center stand my thanks to his daughter for helping with the boards she a fine young lady. and rick watched the right side of the bike. this team made it look like a well planed pit crew in no time they had it up parked and stowed. and then where off to the rootbeer stand for some cold rootbeer. and some talk then the time came to part ways as it is hot as heck out there. i just hope they take it easy on the way home and stay cool and rick nice meeting you as well i enjoyed the afternoon with you great pepole....
  20. ok you kept this oldgoat busy:rotf::rotf:
  21. yep got to recheck what i say sometimes even the docs look at me funny when i say stuff like that
  22. them rootbeer floats sound good too?
  23. ok mike i think we can drive it? yes it does run? yes its together? yes im praying the hoses hold up? and yes i think i found where my air tank went LOL. now i have to run down and get tags for it. this can be driven with out the radiator shroud? since it broke but the radiator is on it its full and shes not leaking. and im sure i cant aford your truck gas? i take it its a huge truck? and i dont know what you would charge for gas and haul? but im still all set for a give it a go.
  24. yes mike rootbeer is on me but. i hope the grass dont grow under mine. next sunday is a great time for me . just need to haul it. place it infront of the apartment cover it and then off for some good rootbeer how,s that sound? this is a go its got to be out of there and my friend you dont know how much this means to me. we will need a trailer and maybe an air tank if you got one. i will try to find some $$ for gas for you. many thanks james aka oldgoat.
  25. thanks never thought about trash liners or patio blocks? and with the cover i got with the bike i should be good to go. got help comming . to move it and put it in the little area by my window. going to be a little fun as we have to push it back in to that spot so that it can be drivin forward next spring to get it down the side walk and on to the road. so all looks good. i would drive it but still not to sure about the hoses? they where used but in good condition but with my health now if it broke down in that 3 mile ride from the storage unit to my place i would never be able to move it. lets just say im a little scared to try it. now this will save me some$$ in storage fees and i wont have to listen to the old lady up there yelling that im working on my bike. should have seen her today while i was up there cleaning the place and getting ready to get this home maybe next weekend. i thought she was going to run the golf cart into the pole LOL and sure enough less than a half hour latter she pulls up and said i called my boss and your not to be working on the motorcycle. i politely said look im cleaning see me putting stuff in my car and sweeping up a little? and yes i did put a small part on the bike and yes im going to put the rest of these litttle nuts and bolts on. so please be informed that by the first of next month i will be out of here. cant wait till im out out of there.
