  1. well, i have not read any negative feedback, plus it's a voice for we riders. i do like that. i shall join shortly. thanks for the comments. i appreciate that. dale in La
  2. anyone else have member feedback?
  3. Like many here, I pull the choke, start the motor, gear up, choke in and drive on. with colder weather coming, I will probably let it run a bit longer, but the engine sound has always clued me to it being ready. gearing up in cold weather takes a bit longer so it may be same, gear up, choke in & drive off. dale in La
  4. i listed the link for the progressive pump where i found it to be the cheapest. i will have to look for the link to the one i purchased. I did a google search to find the one i bought. mine has the 0 to 60 pound gauge. it reads in one pound increments and i found putting 4 pounds of air in the front was no problem. it has the zero loss feature and screws on & off. it is small & efficient.
  5. Does anyone belong to the AMA? i was looking at the member benefits & was wondering what experiences our members here have had with them. comments would be appreciated from current, ex members or hearsay of said experiences. It all sounds good, before i plunk down any dues, real world information is nice. thanks, dale in La
  6. oh, yea, it was 30 bucks with free shipping. dale in La.
  7. i just bought one that i like and made a good deal. here is the link to the thread and the link to the product i bought. I used it a few nights ago to adjust my front forks and rear shock, did a good job. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40830&highlight=hand+pump http://www.debrix.com/ProductDetails...tCode=20118-M1
  8. now that's nice. when i have to make a run to the city, i try to plan to have the last 5 or so miles on the way home at that time of the evening. it is just too nice. the cool air with the warmth of the motor rising up. the pinks on the horizon with the blues going down high. then get to the house for a nice rest of the evening. hard to beat that. dale in La
  9. A few of us look around when Massey says "Don't ya'll remember Boomer won the raffle & rode off with Dolly P.? Helloooo. by now he n she are at the dew drop Inn taking care of waxing his motor sickle. soze to keep it shiny, don't ya know." So it's back to gazin at the new tattoo when we all take a deep breath, like a good studion audience and say in unison . . . . . .
  10. very nice job. it is good to see a project come through. just in time for winter, though. bummer.
  11. well, it might be signs of an improving economy. bikes are beginning to move around between buyers n sellers lately.
  12. prayers sent. may the sun stay high & the wind to your back. God speed recovery. dale n deb in La and now the lyrics - I woke up this mornin with the sundown shinin in I found my mind in a brown paper bag within I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high I tore my mind on a jagged sky I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in (yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in) I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in I watched myself crawlin out as I was a-crawlin in I got up so tight I couldnt unwind I saw so much I broke my mind I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in (yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in) Someone painted april fool in big black letters on a dead end sign I had my foot on the gas as I left the road and blew out my mind Eight miles outta memphis and I got no spare Eight miles straight up downtown somewhere I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in I said I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in Yeah yeah oh-yeah
  13. we see that snow stuff on the news a lot. as far as on the ground, once every 3 to 5 years we get some that will hang around for a day or 3. dale in La
  14. I am glad Sylvester won. i really didn't want the gauges, i just wanted to post some ridiculous stuff and increase my post count.
  15. good deal. i had brought mine into the shop & set it on the bike shelf meaning to play a bit before quitting time. never happened. got on the lathe and turned wood till dinner was ready. i will pack mine when time comes. timing will be close for this weekend as well. we are doing a major conversion at work, so all hands are on deck. 1/2 the crew worked today & the other 1/2 tomorrow. anyway i am headin for bed & read a bit of Rider magazine before Z land. later.
  16. i got a jolt of electricity that woke me up and put me in a stupor at the same time. late this afternoon after i called it quits, i was getting ready to turn some wood on the lathe. i reached from the left instead of the right to grab a tool handle i had a bit for. un-be-knownst to me, a light cord that draped near it had a mouse bite of plastic missing. the left arm rested on the lathe as the handle was in the right hand, with the ferrule rising up to meet that one little spot of missing plastic wire coating. the juice traveled from arm to arm crossing my chest to the lathe's ground. I almost made fudge after the 2 seconds of working for the electric company. i was lucky i was not holding on to anything, i was pushed back away from the bench. i don't know if my heart was affected, but seems as not. i cut the offending section of wire out after inspecting & finding about 5 inches of suspect wire and repaired the cable. man, what we take for granted. i waited until i got my wits back before i put tool to wood.
  17. take care with all that. hope all goes well. Dale in La
  18. I knew i would miss a good time. it didn't work out today and i have to work tomorrow. well, Lady Massey is very happy with today. no blood was shed, but i got a lot of stuff done. I found that too much seafoam in the lawnmower gas tank makes it run sluggish. go sparringly despite direction. thanks gunboat on the invite. when i re schedule RLAP Houston, i may give a call. we can call Dave77459 and all meet somewhere for some dinner. He and i were supposed to take the class, but got rained out. i am looking at a time in the next few weeks. trying to coordinate with Dave77459 for the same time.
  19. when driving a cager back in the day, i had a "booster" given to me by a friend for use while driving back n forth from shreveport to Lake Charles. it was great cause i could be head for Mu Mu Mu Miles. i would suspect the draw on the bikes power grid would be mean smokin from something somewhere. a true booter will pull the power, so beware. getting a good antenae with the swr's tuned is good advice already given. dale in La
  20. Massey asked Yama Mama if she would help find a Western Union Machine to send the 20 to Quickstep soze he could make it to the local Oz-Wash laundry drop off. He had been spotted doin a walk-a-bout in his skivies. The more suds that were consumed the prettier Ruffy's tattoo was gettin'. i have heard of beer goggles before but not tattoo g00gles. A HD driver came over to see what was going on cause of all the ruckus. he commented he had never seen . . . . . . .
  21. Elvis eating ribs is the difference of innee or outee. the full meat rib in hand pushin into the mouth or pullin bare bones out of lips. anyway - lips smakin, grease drippin down to the elbo with BBQ sauce round the chin with sunglasses showing the reflection of the perfect suds sittin atop an ice cold brew. massey was counting how much coin he had in his pocket cause he knew aussie annie's tourist travel service had 1995 currency converter tables & she may not have enough dough to get back to Oz. when he realized he was wayyy short after buying a truck load of raffle tickets hoping for the Grand Dollies prize, he hollered out " . . . . .
  22. i knew i had stuff to do, so the first thing is did was take the scoot for a short run to the barber shop. small town barbershop, sort of like mayberry. we swap out, i cut his hair, he cuts mine. then back on the scoot for the 5 mile ride home. the word bad in the phrase bad gas is just that. i spent a good part of the day workin on the lawn mower carb. it runs, just not as good as before bad gas. it limp out the rest of the season. more yard work tomorrow. maybe a ride sunday on the RSV. dale in La
  23. our RSV is referred to as "White Lightning". a term my pop uses. it fit as it rolled off my tongue one day.
  24. well, i have been puttin off respondin as i still don't know if i can make it. work is just short of calling us in for the weekend. so i am still on the fence. can i sit on standby? If i can come, i may trailer the RSV as i may bring my ATV jack & an ebay imitation carbon one lift adapter. can't fit that stuff in the saddle bags. hand tools seem to be taken care of. i will be in touch. dale in La
