I'm wired and lit up and registered to be that way

Very professional looking there Mike! One thing about the licence plate, you are going to find out it is very easy to bend where it is. If you haven't already done so, replace that plastic holder with a metal one before it breaks and you lose your plate. Don't ask how I know about that, but thanks to Mother I got it back! You may want to consider relocating it to the center of the trailer mounted directly to the bottom half of the clam shell. You can buy a LED licence plate light from Auto Zone that mounts directly on the licence bolts... -
The biggest scam is the insurance!! Yes, your own auto insurance should cover things but check with them first to make sure. The car rental companies will insist you need it but it is how they make money!! Also yes, most insurance cards will offer additional coverage depending on what level card you have such as world class, etc. Myself I usually go with the biggies, Hertz, Avis etc. Budget isn't bad but trust me they are not eally any cheaper of better than the major ones. Same for Dollar...

Now here's an idea whose time has come!! Yup, I've put a couple of chips in my fender tips too! Frame mount would be the way to go. Doesn't have to be really strong, just something else besides the fender tips to hit when backing into the curb...

Good morning readers and welcome to yet another pointless edition of AS THE WHEELS TURN! When we last left Bongo, Brad T and Rhonda, they were searching the airport for Carl, Sherry minus Scott, and Ben. As they are looking, they spot, of all people, Relic and his wife! John! What are you and Dianne doing at the airport?? why, what do most people do at an airport? he replies. We are flying out to Vancouver to visit a few people on the other coast! What are you guys doing here? We're heading to Cuba for holiday replies Brad, but wait until you hear the wild story Bongo has! So Bongo gets Relic up to speed with the story line of AS THE WHEELS TURN and then explains how they are looking for Ben, Sherry minus Scott, and Carl. Oh, we just saw them go into the lounge across the street but I think Mother was with Sherry at the time! Well, do you have time for a bite to eat John? Of course I do, I have all the time in the world being retired, eh?!!? We just got here and haven't even tried booking a standby flight. So this rag tag assembly of Ventureriders set out to hook up with the motley crew of Ventureriders across the street. As soon as they enter the lounge, there is a band playing coctail music. As they look at the band, much to their surprise playing with the band is... Who is playing in the band? Will they find the motley crew they are looking for, or is it Motley Crew playing blues?? Who are John and Diane planning on visiting? Can poor Scott still walk or is he confined to a wheel chair? Stay tuned for even more unanswered questions as the mystery unfolds on AS THE WHEELS TURN!

Gee, I'm surprised the guy didn't want full retail price for the bike as well!! I wouldn't worry about insulting the guy, especially selling a bike with admitted problems. Ask him what he thinks he will get at a junk yard for it...

Think I got transmission issues

That's exactly how my clutch went last year!! I went with the PCW clutch mod which is a tougher spring, and the HD clutch which I highly recommend!! I replaced my friction discs and my metal spacers as I drove it with the slipping clutch for a good half year and the plates were definately scortched. A little more money but everytrhing is brand new now. I also was going to go with the Barnett plate but Squidley talked me out of it so I ended up selling it to Gary N. It's a pertty easy job and you can do it in about an hour! Our Hannigans put a heavier load on the clutch which are not the strongest in the first place! If you do it along with an oil change you don't have to worry about spilling oil!!- 17 replies

My next guess would be that when it gets hot the stator may go bad. Take it for a ride and without shutting the bike off, repeat the DC voltage test across the battery. Also, there is another connector for the stator under the seat around the area where the coils are, next to the coolant overflow bottle. There could be corrosion there...

I have a second gen frame with attached wiring harness seting in my shed, and I can see the ground strap and it looks like it would bolt on somewhere under the plastic wiring cover. 4 phillips screws get it off, but pay attention to where each screw goes as there is 2 lengths...

Awesome!!! Watched the whole jump on the Red Bull link!:wow:

Check 1, 2, and 3 to ground, shouild be infinity reading. Next, start bike, switch meter to AC and all three combinations of pairs should be the same AC voltage level. I'm assuming you are looking at the 3 stator wires where they come into the R/R connector. Don't understand why no reading on the 20 ohm scale, you should have seen 1.6 also...

OK physically follow the brake line from the calipeer back. It should go straight up the fork tube to a splitter somewhere around the triple tree where it joins up with the line from the other caliper. Coming into the splitter is a direct line from the front brake lever. IOf not, then the front brakes were never linked when it was triked and it needs to be done. Earl has splitters from VMax's he sells along with SS lines. Now, with the line unscrewed, or at least unloosened, when you squeeze the brake lever does a good amount of brake fluid come out? If so then the problem is in the caliper or bleeder...

Gee, ya think Larry is looking for another trike already???

Exactly!! It's the cillia (sp) in your lungs coming back to life from being killed off by smoke. They are little organisms that spin to remove junk in your lung. Once you clear out years of crud the hacking will stop...
