  1. ...and don't forget one of their most famous ones, Wipeout!!! EDIT: Oops, my bad, it was the Surfari's that did the original, The Ventures did a copy version in '63...
  2. OK the R6 blue dot is pretty much the same as the RSV/RSTD. They have steel pistons. The sought after R6 gold dots have aluminum pistons that won't rust and/or hang up from the rust...
  3. Ewwwwwwwww!
  4. Aren't you glad there are 3 of us writing this?!!? Don't we wish we had another!??!
  5. Actually I used metal spacers on mine for the rear bolts. The issue is the bottom of the trunk sets on top of the round bar when you use the other holes, so to take the strain off of the bottom when you move it back you need the spacers. What I ended up doing was to screw the bolts from the bottom upwards leaving studs sticking up, and then used nuts inside the trunk to secure...
  6. Chances are no real harm to the transmission, just won't move without fluid, but there has to be a reason he is loosing fluid...
  7. ah yes, the Ventures, one of the Grand Daddies of surf music!! If memory serves me right, the Ventures also did the theme from Hawaii 5 O as well. I also remember their song Perfidia...
  8. Too busy going out of town!! Besides the weather has sucked this year and not enough consistant color! Yeah, I know, in the past we have ridden when it was snowing or the high for the day was 39...
  9. WOW!!! For a split second it looked like he was going to land on his feet and start running! Hopefully he was OK, he had gear on...
  10. Yah! To each their own! I do not dislike any Star members, just as I do not dislike any of the members of the "Other" site, I just personally want little to do with the organizations for pretty much the same reason! I left the Baptist church for similar reasons and went with independant non-denominational instead...
  11. Yah!! You did an excellent trip!! Been there, done that, want to do it again...
  12. Yah Karl, whoever called them the GOLDEN years should be shot in the dingle balls...
  13. Hey, best team money can buy!! Unfortunately there are some things money can not buy! Go Detroit!!
  14. I'm enjoying some really nice Pumpkin Pie coffee from Wegmans right now... Hey Don, include a bag for me with the shipment, I'll paypal you!!
  15. Lookin' good Gene!!! That looks like the same one from Extreme Makeover Home Edition...
  16. PS did you move??? I notice your location is Woodstock now, not St C...
  17. I feel for you Thomas! Heck, I'm retired and still cant seem to get out riding...
  18. Basically no known issues but keep in mind it is a 25 year old bike and will need periodic preventative maintenance as well as normal age problems such as weak front shock springs, crudded up carbs and fuel tank, etc. With proper maintenance you should be able to take it well over 100000 miles and have no fear of driving it coast to coast! BTW a 1987 is a first generation Mark II. Second gen Ventures are the 1999 - present Ventures. No big deasl posting in the wrong forum though, we aren't anal about those things. You would have this more noticed in the 1st Gen forum though. Welcome to the site! You will find this the most helpful and friendly bunch around!!!
  19. Yes I do! I was just first home from the hospital after having my toe removed...
  20. Yet another reason why I let my Star membership expire after one short year...
  21. Good Friday faithful readers and welcome to today's edition of AS THE WHEELS TURN! As we left Bongo and the crew they had just stepped into the lounge across the street and were surprised to find, of all people, Paysaw performing in public on the piano in perfect pitch. Wow! I knew he could play but I didn't know he could play so well! Meanwhile the owner of the club is talking with his manager and pointing at the happy group of Ventureriders that had just entered. In the mean time, yet another Venturerider appears on the scene! Why it's Wizard765! He see's Bongo and immediately walks up and gives him a big bear hug! What are you doing here Bongo? Better still what are YOU doing here Wayne? Oh, they are planning on expanding their business and need help with their computer system so here I am, Wayne replies. Just then the owner approches Bongo and says "Yes sir Mr. Stephano how may I be of assistance?" "And why are these people calling you Bongo?" Thinking fast Bongo replies in his best Godfather impersionation "These are my local associates and we're here for a family meeting. We use the code name Bongo to confirm the meeting and to protect my identity from the wrong people." Yes sir Mr. Stephano my manager is preparing a separate room for your associates right now, it should be ready in just a moment. Bongo replies there will be others joining so pay them no mind. Spotting Ben, Carl Sherry and Scott he waves and they all say "Hey! Bongo!" Just as the manager approches to tell them the room is ready, there is a loud noise out in the parking lot! They look to see... What was the loud noise? Will Bongo be able to pull the deception off? Will Paysaw play a polka on the piano? Stay tuned for these and other questions on AS THE WHEELS TURN!
  22. Uhhh, Jay, let's hope Squidley isn't still waiting for those parts since 2008...
  23. This reminds me of the Cheech and Chong skit... Cheech: Man this is some good $hit we're smoking! Chong: It's Labrador Cheech: Really? From Labrador? Chong: No, my dog ate my stash, so I followed him around and scooped up his doo doo. We're smoking that!
  24. Waaaay cool!!
  25. Well my friend I hate to see you go! Aww, come on, $12 isn't gonna break ya, is it?? A lot of us think the Victory is a fine bike and wouldn't mind owning one ourselves! Oh, well, at least we will see you from time to time seeing as you are only an hour away. It just seems as if I hear from you more here than in person but we both have busy lives. The WNY crew hardly rode together at all this year. Heck, I think I can count on one hand the number of times MC Tom and I rode together this year and he lives 2 houses away! Take care and keep in touch, email address is the same screen name at yahoo. We will try to get over some time to catch up on what's happening!
