  1. You may want to talk to the road dept. They will sometimes ask to have it done that way, so they can do easy clean up. Also, it is them that would be sued if an crash were to occur.
  2. I need the mount end on it and it's for the CB.
  3. I need an antenna wire (stock). I'll buy it or trade something off my 83 parts bike (bad body)
  4. What is the best way to do a twin antenna setup on a 1st gen? I have them both with extra mount. Should I run 1 antenna to the CB and eleminate the splitter, and the other directly to the stereo? Or go 2 into 1, then into the splitter?
  5. http://www.babbittsonline.com/
  6. Babbitts has 2nd gen for $20.45 and 1st gen for a couple bucks more. There are guys on ebay right now trying to get $58 + shipping for a set. I'm glad 2nd gen will work on an 86. That will be my choice if it's easier.
  7. This might work a little better if you had a link on the main menu that took you straight to a "Store" page.
  8. I've traveled the islands and Washington and never had an issue. You always get on no matter how crowded it is. Bikes always fit on the end. I just used the kick stand but left it in gear.
  9. You have to force grease into the back of the speedo to grease the gears inside. I just did this on mine, but had the whole instrument panel out at the time. It worked.
  10. How do you order? Where is the store link?
  11. Acually a bad sensor will cause the computer to make run too rich, in turn CAUSING the cat to plug. The two problems usually go together if left un repaired.
  12. Replace the sensors. Right now you are just "fooling" the car, but it will come up again later. It will never run the way it should until you do.
  13. What kind of cords? I need cords.
  14. It mounts to the rack your trunk sits on.
  15. Here is the problem I have with the whole car tire idea. I have a Gen1, suspension is all the way up (70 rear, 12 front). My cruise pegs are on the top bar of the engine crash bar and only stick out 2" when folded up. I still grind off the cruise peg mounts while thrashing the twisties. There is no way a car tire is going to go over that far. That's also why I use Metzlers. They hold consistantly all the way to the edge of the tire. I have some Dunlop CruiseMax tires that only have 1000 miles on them. They were great in the rain, but on the edge of the tire they would lose a little causing a slight wobble. Now I do realize not everybody rides theirs like a sport bike. That's why I have a 1st gen, not a 2nd gen. But the tire is no place to cut corners (no pun intended). And the center of the rear tire wears out first when you do mostly highway straightline driving without much cornering. I have stayed with the gen1 because I need a sport tourer for the performance, and the luxury for the wife. And I'm way to cheap to spend $30k on the big BMW.
  16. Won't fit there in a Royale. Stereo Amp & Tuner go there.
  17. I'm looking for some of that stuff for a 1st gen mark 2. Trunk rack, front fender rail, saddle bag rails etc.
  18. I would highly recommend HCL also. Great service.
  19. Here is what the problem was. Intake manifolds leaked. Somebody used some kind of sealant that looks like caulking. Took everything out, cleaned and sealed intakes properly. New plugs and plug wires. Somebody had tried to sync carbs with intake leak because they were so far out it idled at 3000 rpm. Got everything synced and now it runs like a Venture should. Really close to getting this thing on the road.
  20. Yes I am. The air box is off. Will try with it on.
  21. What if the boost sensor is un plugged? I unplugged it to use the port for the carb stick. Could this be the problem? The 83 had a port on the #2 carb for the sensor. This is plugged into the intake manifold.
