  1. They look like grounding wires. Did you have some driving lights or maybe from the horn? Maybe the previous owner had something hooked up and removed before turning the bike over to you. What does the other end connect to?
  2. I ride to work everyday that it is not raining, and somedays that it is. But not on purpose...

  5. Lets see what sort of quotes we can come up with that would go along with this picture
  6. I paid 1800 for my 84 a few years ago with over 50,000 miles. So far I have bought: front tire, front brake pads, back tire, back brake pads, battery, seafoam every now and then, plus lots of gas, beer and hot wings. Probably the best investment I've ever made. GO FOR IT!!!
  7. Thanks for the follow up. I was wondering how things turned out. Glad to see it was positive.
  8. Check out this email I just got. I'M RICH. Now I can finally afford that second gen I've always wanted. URGENT BUISNESS PROPOSAL!!!‏From:Albright Anne P (AlbrighAnneP@JCCMI.EDU)http://gfx2.hotmail.com/mail/w3/pr01/ltr/i_yellowshield.gifYou may not know this sender.Mark as safe|Mark as unsafeSent:Tue 7/08/08 1:31 AMTo: Dear Friend This letter must come to you as a big surprise, but I believe it is only a day that people meet and become great friends and business partners. I am Mr. Ferrandod de M.J Luis,, currently Head of Corporate affairs with reputable Bank here in Spain . I write you this proposal in good faith, believing that I can trust you with the information I am about to reveal to you. I have an urgent and very confidential business proposition for you. On November 6, 2003, an Iraqi Foreign Oil consultant/contractor with the CHEVRON PETROLEUM CORPORATION, MR. KHALIL AL NASSER made a (Fixed deposit) for 36 calendar months, valued at US$27,500,000.00 (Twenty Seven Million Five hundred Thousand Dollars only) in my bank and I happen to be his account officer before I was moved to my present position recently. Upon maturity in 2005, as his account officer and as well the bank manger, it is my duty to notify him on the maturity date so I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but the letter was returned undelivered. After sometime, I tried sending back the letter, but it was again returned and finally I discovered from his contract employers, Chevron Petroleum Corporation that Mr. Khalil Al Nasser died as a result of torture in the hand of Saddam Hussein (former Iraqi President) during one of his trips to his country Iraq, as he was accused of leaking information to the Americans. On further investigation, I discovered that MR. KHALIL AL NASSER. Family wife and two sons died during the Gulf War in Iraq and was the reason why he did not declare any next of kin or relation in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank and did not leave any WILL. This sum of US$27,500,000.00 have been floating and placed under dormant/unserviceable account by my bank management since no one have heard from the owner since 2005. I wish to let you know that all the investigation I have made so far, my bank management is not aware of it, I am the only one that have the information. With the recent change of government in my country and with their efforts to support the United Nations in check mating terrorism aid , the government will pass a new financial control law which will give the government authority to interrogate account owners of above $5Million to explain the source of the funds, making sure it is not for terrorism support. If I do not move this money out of the country immediately, the government will definitely confiscate the money, because my bank cannot provide the account owner to explain the source of the money. I cannot directly transfer out this money without the help of a foreigner and that is why I am contacting you for assistance. As the Account Officer to late MR. KHALIL AL NASSER, coupled with my present position and status in the bank as Head of Retail Banking Group, I have the power to influence the release of the funds to any foreigner that comes up as the next of kin to the account, with the correct information concerning the account, which I shall give you. All documents to enable you claim this fund will be carefully worked out and there is practically no risk involved, the transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of law, If you accept to work with me, I want you to state how you wish us to share the funds in percentage, so that both parties will be satisfied. If you are interested, contact me as soon as you receive this message so we can go over the details. Thanking you in advance and May God bless you Please, treat with utmost confidentiality. I shall send you copy of the deposit certificate issued to Al Nasser when the deposit was made for your perusal. I wait your urgent reply via my private email:ferrandodmjluis010@gmail.com Regards, Mr. Ferrandod de M.J. Luis.

  11. a first gen with only 16000 miles? you probably won't be needing parts for a long time. the dealers are probably just trying you to buy something off of them. besides, what kind of $ is he wanting you to pay? and what's the price for anybody else?
  12. done... i never realized that motorcycles could use the HOV lanes
  13. I'm about 90 miles south of Erie. The only rear tire I have doesn't look any better than the one you have, plus it's from a first gen so I don't know if it would fit anyway. But if you want it you can have it. I was planning a little trip to Geneva on the Lake today but I guess I could take a detour though Erie. It's not really that far out of the way. If you're a gambler there is a casino and horseracing track, I think it's called Presque Isle Downs, gotta be near you somewhere. Although Erie is not the vacation capital of the world, I think there are alot of places that could be worse to be stranded at. Oh well, try to enjoy you day.
  14. :rotf: what about duct tape?
  15. I can't tell for sure, but is the DQ parking lot right next to Skid's garage? or am I seeing something. Now I really wish I would have been able to go.
  16. Here in Pennsylvania to get the mc endorsement you have the choice of going to the Driver's Training Center and taking a road test administered by a policeman, complete with figure eights and cones etc. OR you can attend an MSF training class. When the MSF class is over they stamp your license verifying your temporary mc endorsement and the new license comes from the Dept. of Transportation a couple weeks later. I've heard it's real easy to FAIL if you just take the test with the policeman though. I personally took the time to take the MSF class, I learned alot of things that might save my life someday, and I would recomend it to everyone. HOWEVER, we didn't have to pay anything for it. I'm not sure who covered the cost, maybe the state did...
  17. What they said... Plus you got me thinking, I only have one key myself. Maybe time to go get a couple more made. But I'll have to remember to NOT store them in the trunk. Good Luck and let us know how it turns out...
  18. Just spray some paint on that road rash. I heard once that a little black paint works wonders!. Seriously though, glad you're not too messed up. From another Todd...
  19. Sometimes you just have to ask yourself WHY? God sure does work in mysterious ways...
  20. Thanks, I gotta go back and play again now just to see what that looks like...what's wrong with me...
  21. Mine comes and goes on my 84 also. I'm just assuming that the bulb is bad or there is a loose wire or connection back behind the dash. It doesn't bother me enough though that I plan on tearing into the thing anytime soon. When I lubed my throttle cable I could barely get my hands in there and there was a ton of wires. I mostly just leave my high beams on anyway, even though it might irk some other drivers...
  22. Anybody ever see this before? This is what we're up against when we're out there riding? http://www.dothetest.co.uk/
  23. I know a guy named Rick Ferrari. He happens to sell cars at a local dealership. I don't suppose a picture with him would be enough, huh? He is life size and running though. I really want to win one of these...
